IMPOSSIBLE Speed Reading Test

- An updated verison of my previous two speed reading videos. This test will give you a rough idea about how fast you can read, ranging from 100 to 2000 Words Per Minute.
Rapid Serial Visual Presentation, or RSVP, is when words are fixed onto one spot of the screen, eliminating your need to move your eyes across a page when reading, thus increasing your reading speed. Most people can read at 250 - 400 WPM without RSVP. Most people can read at around 800 WPM with RSVP. This test does not use RSVP, so it should be more difficult than the previous two.

I understand the most part but not all. Do I pass a level?
Is it that I am a pro or this is very easy
I win level 15 im speed
This was quite easy as you just needed to pick out key info, on the reading part, I'll admit I only got up to lvl 10 but the questions I was able to do.
level 13
When you get all the quizzes right not because you actually read the content but because you knew the questions

i did lvl 15 quiz by guessing lol i got the 2 answers correct

Wow I love that battle cats game. Nice avatar!
You son’t need to read every word. Only focus on the most important info and you can easily read level 15. It’s more or less comprehension on what words are important!
Got to level 8 with minor struggle, then crashed and failed miserably from 9 onwards.

That’s typical average. Don’t be hard on yourself.
ive trained for no reason in school to read fast, and somehow godlike barley managed the last one

level 14 was the level i broke at. (the speed of level 9 (the 10 speeds video) is comparable to level 14 (this video))
*DISCLAIMER:* Instead of answering the questions, I measured myself on if I could read it all. If I only looked for key information, I would have probably doen much better.
Everything before this was quite easy,
*Take 1:* At level 8 I could barely keep up but it outran me by 2 centimetres in the end.
*Take 2:* Beat it by 3.
*Take 1, level 9:* Too fast!
*Take 2, level 9:* Still too fast!

*Take 4, level 9:* I give up.
*Take 1, level 10:* I can beat THIS though?!
*Take 1, 2 & 3, level 11:* Nope impossible
U know how some gamers keep perfecting their skills till they beat something hard? You can do the same with reading tho prob not as fun as getting better at gaming
I could read most of level 14 but that's when it started getting difficult

I was testing my reading speed and not doing that
If i did what you did i wouls have failed at the start too
Problem for me was just that it was scrolling upwards and jank(idk if it was my phone moving paragraphs at awkward intervals) and that just kept distracting the hell out of me.
If it weren't scrolling I think I'd have read it faster because my eyes know exactly where to be, and subconsciously picks out important words. I got most of the questions right simply due to that; picking out numbers, finding capitalized words, reading the beginning, middle, and end words of sentences rather than the whole thing going back to see some connective words if I can't understand the meaning reasonably.
Just like you can read something with misspelled or missing letters easily, your brain can reasonably assume a LOT of words.
yeah it was jumping up and down. Pure jittery...I just thought that was part of the test to be honest.
That happens when the video quality is low
So, uh- I failed the level 1 quiz. I read it all, my mind just blanked. Welp, time to see if I can do the later ones.
Edit: From what quizzes I’m failing, it seems that my brain discards numbers and directions. I think I might be wired to read fiction, where dates and directions don’t matter much in terms of plot.
Also, previous knowledge helps. Like- with the lightning and thunder questions, I already knew the answer. It might be better to ai generate text and ask questions about that instead.
Edit 2: I started skim reading around lvl.7, and struggling at lvl.10.
Edit 3: I officially failed to keep up at lvl.11. I mean, I still got the questions right, but only because I had prior knowledge.
Same for me. I don't care about the directions, names, and numbers. I look for plot. 😅

Hello fellow fiction reader! It’s nice knowing I’m not alone in my problem.
I thought the earlier one was much easier; on that one I was actually able to comprehend most of the level 10 words, but on this one I could barely make it past level 7.
I was able to read everything on the one that showed one word at a time without even trying to, but here i failed at reading the a bit more then the half of level 6
the last video showed one word at a time. This is more realistic as you have to actually put in the effort to move your eyes along to read the sentence.
Woah thank you mellygamedogyt for this insightful content!!
o_-
I liked this one. You can measure comprehension with the questions; and you can enjoy the same speed reading test that star wars movie intros offered, now at a higher velocity.
this guy makes everything that has common loopholes (easy to see)
I got to level 7 then struggled a lot. Wow, I’m honestly impressed how accurate this one is. Great job!
Cool i got to 15.
I forgot I commented on this tho- 😀 but dang you read fast

Got both questions correct on the last level. Im happy to say, im finally pleased with myself.
I used to act like I could read incredibly fast, like literally I acted like I could read a page in a novel in 3 seconds. Guess that helped me get to lv15 even tho i failed it
I don't know if you are reading the comments on the video, but it seems like each time you make one of these you are improving from your last one, to make it more and more realistic. anywho, this is what I recommend:
for the format, keep the text at one place on the screen, showing the entire block of text, and have a bar go down the side of the screen to label time, keeping the size of the text and the amount of text relatively constant. reading moving text is a different skill than reading static text, and playback artifacts can differ by device
for the questions, instead of grabbing one specific fact from one sentence (which made this more like a memory test), you should test on overall comprehension. for example; in the boy who cried wolf, you could ask "why did the villagers stop listening to the boy" or "what consequences does the boy face from lying to the villagers."
for your quotes, I recommend using flash fiction instead of general facts and folk tales, that way people don't know about the text ahead of time.
understood everything until level 12-13 which is when I started to struggle a little and then by 15 I was having to really focus to be able to understand it
I’ve always had a really fast mind, so this was easy for the most part until the last 2
Same
Me that doesn't understand a sh*t: I can read fast for sure, but my brain is straight dead.
The best thing about paragraphs is that they efficiently asses you on the speed rather than still words do. However, people can still use Peripheral vision reading technique to get past lvl 11. After than, it gets too fast.
By "Asses" do you mean "Assesses" pronounced "A-ses-es"?
posting this before finishing - i generally read at ~650 wpm (for fiction and texts not too hard to understand). let’s see how i hold up.
edit: yep, my ability to answer the questions properly ended about level 7. i could read further paragraphs but i couldn’t necessarily answer the questions right because i hadn’t absorbed the information.
I usualy read at like ~800/900wpm
Me 1300 / 1400
But mostly I'm confident with reading at 1400 WPM, it's the fastest i can read a piece of text or paragraphs/stanza's, but also I can read at 1800 WPM if it's single worded. So for example the word is not moving at all its in the middle of the screen and only the word changes, it's so amazing at the extents of the human body T^T
The power of the pause button is very helpful with this! 😂❤
After about level 9 or so, i found myself unconsciously looking for key information in the paragraphs for the sole purpose of getting correct quiz answers, so i dont think the quiz thing was such a good idea. I could also comprehend most of all of the levels, even up to level 15, but i wasnt actively trying to remember any of the information, which would cause me to get incorrect answers on the quiz portion
I beat level 10 last time and I'm quite surprised they extended it, but why have us read like a paragraph or two and ask us stuff about the littlest things, when you read that fast you focus on the general information not like a specific thing
On the last one I got 6 years but not Nitrogen, surprisingly, I could almost keep up, some training and I definitely could.
same i got all right on all levels but the nitrogen question got me
I actually passed level 15 somehow! I think the trick is to ignore useless words and only read variables like numbers or things like that
If you can understand the main plot of the story but you can’t answer the question means you’re just skimming though the passage, not actually fully reading the whole passage
I failed at level 11, and was only able to fully read everything at levels 8 and under...
This definitely seems more accurate than other online speedreading tests, which don't make you move your eyes along the line of text... Those ones are relatively easy, and i managed to get to 2000wpm without difficulty
But this one... Shoot. I'll be back in a year to try again i guess ^'-'^
come back >:)

I started to struggle at level 15 on this one, it was harder than the previous ones.
I tried to do everything because I am bored. I will reward myself with some chips if I did it to level 10.
Take 1 level 1:too easy.
Take 1 level 2:still too easy.
Take 1 level 3:starting to be faster.
Take 1 level 4:finally not effortless.
Take 1 level 5:ez
Take 1 level 6:I am too overconfident, this is actually damn hard.
Take 2 level 6:finally did it. I passed and almost failed by a scratch.
Take 1 level 7,8and 9:it’s not that hard once you remember to net get overconfident. 9 managed to overwhelm me quite a bit.
Take 1 level 10:failed immediately.
Take 2,3,4 and 5 level 10:just pure suffering and learning.
Take 6 level 10:ok now I really know what almost failing by a scratch feels like. Moving on.
Take 1 level 11:no.
Take 2-8 (yes I just refuse to give up) level 11:pain,suffering and learning. You got the drill.
Take 9-12 level 11:failed at the edge of victory for 3 times in a row.
Take 13 level 11:finally ugh
Take 1-16 level 12:by this time,my sanity is starting to drain to the point where I hallucinate. I don’t see figures or anything but I hear whispers that don’t make any sense. Yes I am not even lying.
Take 17 level 12:for the sake of my sanity,no I am stopping.
At least these chips ware nice.
As a NASA scientist working in the Hubble project I see this as an absolute win.
I was able to get to level 15 but at that point i was scanning the text and rereading it from memory. It's what i do when it hits 900 wpm on the single word speed reading texts.
I got it till lvl 14. 15 was like the space launch but for my head. Being straightforward, im flabbergasted and if anyone can read lvl 15, you are officially a king.
I ranked myself not if I answered the questions right, but how much I struggled to read the paragraphs:
All till lv 6: all done on take one with no problems
Lv 7-8: struggled a bit with the last part but in the end made it on first take
Lv 9: take two the middle part gave me some trouble
Lv 10: easier to read then lv 9, but still hard take one
Lv 11-12: made it on take one but it was a close call
Lv 13: take 3, pretty darn hard to read
Lv 14: too overwhelming, some text moving at a different speed then others and small glitches made it almost impossible to focus. Overall take 10
Lv 15: same as 14, only this time I didn’t manage to make it.
yea b/c i feel like this is more of a memory test and whether you know the things beforehand

*slows down video to 0.5 speed*
I just don't have enough patience to watch the words slowly travel up the screen
I was typing the other tests on the last level but I’m not literally gonna type a paragraph about the 8th planet.
If I answered randomly on level 15 and it was right does it count?
I passed level 15 but damn that hurt my eyes, a level 16 would make me go blind!
There is a technique called scanning in which the person reads multiple words at the same time. Each sentence is read as a one, and not as individual words. Some people can even read a whole paragraph as a single unit.
When you are so smart you don't need to read but you knew the answers to the question
Just grab the big words and you’re all set. Made it till 14 using this
That's how I usually read when going through boring parts of a book lol
i would say im a 350wpm for both questions, i can do up to lvl9 for comprehending the entire text okish, and i can do a good enough summary to answer at least 1 question up until lvl 12, which is impossible in my opinion (if you can get past lvl12, youre amazing)
Level fifteen was more like my grade 6 test I had years ago
Even at 2000 wpm and I STILL can't find a challenging speed reading test
This is moving faster than movie credits
Fun video! I made it too lvl 13 it got too hard past it-
This was quite easy for me! Cramming a whole book in one night is probably why though-
It was really easy . I was able to read every single word.
I literally just skipped to Level 15, could understand the gist of the passage, and answered both of the questions correctly and confidently. Am I a genius or something???
Its honestly easier when you know the questions so you know what to look for in the text
not me knowing the answers to the final level already since i'm a geek
I barely fell short on wpm 400, I looked at wpm 2000 out of curiosity, and got 2 lines out of about 30?
i can read them but like i sometimes forget the answer to those quizzes
Fell apart at 500 wpm lol but got most of the questions right at least I learned something 👍🏻
Hmm, nearly finished Level 13, but it definitely was a struggle in Level 12. MOAR SPEAD, MOAR READ
Wven reading i was just looking for important words, but the questions was something else lol.
got up to 7-8, I’m happy about that at least.
I read quite a lot, but I am used to reading very slowly and carefully (often re-reading previous lines several times) to absorb all the info I'm reading. So I'm afraid I did terribly at this. I suppose my brain is not at all used to getting specific information/details from a text quickly. It wants to take in ALL info, not just bits and pieces. So obviously I quickly couldn't keep up anymore. I did way better on another video on this channel (the one where single words popped up, not a block of text).
_Proceeds to fail the first quiz because I spent so long waiting for it to finish scrolling_
does it count if i find those by knowledge
when you get all the questions right cause your just that godamn good
why is this one so much harder than the other ones
8:28 i skipped to this and guessed it spot on for both questions i’m so proud
wow lucky xd
Looks like I have reading superpowers huh
level 9 and 10 are very much possible, if you’re able to keep up with level 8 then as long as you focus on the keywords or big words, your brain will automatically fill those words with the small and less important words because even though it zoomed through your brain still slightly remembers it
it’s a skill that your brain develops when you do researches online a lot, it’s a slow process though so don’t expect yourself to be able to do it on the 5th try with no experience unless you manage to do it, but if you’re already used to it you’ll only take one try or more if you blinked mid way
if you cant keep up with level 8 its probably because you’re reading it using the voice in your brain, or you’re reading it out loud.
its so much easier to read when it just fades and not paragraphs
How it feels trying to read the text at the beginning of Star Wars movies:

This is like trying to read the Minecraft end text

Jesus Christ I got level 15, or at least both questions. Honestly I just got the questions on my own knowledge, because I though 6 years seemed reasonable on the first question and on the second question I just thought “well if hydrogen or oxygen boiled at that point then water would boil at that point and I don’t think water boils at that point so I guess nitrogen” and I got it right.
the video lagged on lv15 and now i passed lv15
