Well with all the travel restrictions going on I thought it might be helpful to learn about some things to do around Grafenwöhr and Vilseck that are less than 1hr away from base. This video will go over my recommendations on what to do after you PCS to Grafenwöhr Germany.
    1. Visit Nearby Cities
This will be the first time you get to experience what “home base” is all about in Germany. Go into random stores, find the local food (or just read my local food blog: www.dtvdanieltelevision.com/2..., and get acquainted with the local community! These little German cities are fun to explore!
Here’s a couple that I recommend - Grafenwöhr/Vilseck, Parkstein, Hirschau, Flossenbürg, Pottenstein, and Weiden.
    2. Lakes
There are tons of lakes around here, our favorites are Freizeitsee Dießfurt and Steinberger See.
    3. Hiking & Bike Trails
Germany was made for the outdoors, you’ll notice walking/running/biking/hiking trails all over the country. I recommend going on the Komoot app to find a trail close by.
    4. Castles, Churches, Monasteries
I know I sound redundant but they’re everywhere (too)! Just ask google and you’ll see castles all around you. I recommend the castle in Parkstein and Pottenstein, Burg Leuchtenberg, the Rauher Kulm tower and Speinshart Monastery.
What did I miss? If you know of other fun things to do that are less than 1hr away from base, sound off in the comments below! Thanks for watching!

Was treated very respectfully while I was there .Really enjoyed going to small local towns after a soccer match. Nave you traveled along the Mosel and Rhine Rivers yet? Had a car and a couple of friends and I Traveled those routs after a outdoor concert in Saarbrucken in the summer of 1979. Had A Fantastic time.

Hey Daniel really enjoy your videos of Germany. I PCSed here with my family during the pandemic in September 2020. I would love to go and see all these places your doing videos at but we are stationed in baumholder which is great community and the areas around there are great as well. We are kind of hitting are threshold of the things we can see do everything being further away like the places you have been to in your area.
So I was wondering if maybe or I guess idea is if you could post a video for everyone the process to try book hotels if available for some on maybe military hotels or even if any type of hotel is available in the community (which I total understand how strict Germany is on hotels) but my understanding is they might be opening up during the summer, if it passes.
Thanks again for the great content and inspiration you provide, I always recommend your content to my soldiers to get them out and explore the areas.
    Keep it up brother!

Hey man, thanks so much for all the support! That's a great question and I've ran into issues with that lately as well (with regards to booking hotels in Germany). I haven't focused on a video about staying in hotels because honestly you really can't right now (Trust me, I've called several lol). When things change (hopefully by summer), I can definitely start making videos about which hotels are available and what my recommendations are. As far as things to do in your area, my next video will be highlighting a day trip we took from K-town to this castle: instagram.com/p/CNzWxuHhivD/. That whole area has some great things you can do during COVID which I'll be highlighting soon! I really appreciate you sharing the channel with your soldiers, I hope they can find some inspiration from it! Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Howdy howdy, it is me again :). This is my second video of yours that I saw and I love it. Graf had really changed a lot (Tower barracks) . I was last there last Sept 2019. Your scene at the 5:56 mark was EPIC. How in the heck did you do that ? I loved it. I wil be doing some catching up on your content for sure. There are a lot of great CZcams channels coming out of the Graf/Vilsek and I think that is awesome. I enjoy Andrews channel as well. AHH, It just hit me, I think I had seen you in one of his videos a while back if I am not mistaken. I will go back and Iook lol. I also can't wait till my next trip and I want to surely checkout that lake, I love to swim. :).

Haha welcome back Darion! Thanks so much for the support, and yes, I was the guy filming with Andrew, good catch! I'm happy to see fellow CZcamsrs filming about Germany, it truly is a beautiful place to live. BTW, the scene at 5:56 is easier than you think, you just need to practice jumping really high, jk. It's 3 simple shots, one with a camera jumping, drone shot going up in the same spot, and a camera shot of my feet in front of a green screen. You'll see it again in my next Graf video coming soon ;)

DTV: Daniel Television hahaha, very cool also cool about Andrew . I was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany and I used to go to the field A lot in Graf. I broke my back there many years ago. I actually travel to Germany at least once or twice a year and I love going back to Graf . I am looking forward to see more of your content. :)
