1997 Triple Crown races were one of the most exciting in thouroughbred horse racing history. I had the joy of recording all that three races in a VHS tape and twenty one years later, I still have it 😃 Regards from a venezuelan citizen who emigrated to Chile searching a better way of life.

The heart in these three was undeniable and tells the story of the tenacity and determination of the thoroughbred horse. Born to run and run they do into hearts and history leaving legacy's to be remembered. I salute you.

Silver Charm, was a Beautiful, and Amazing Horse!! I was really disappointed, when he lost the Triple Crown race, at Belmont, in 1997!!😣 It broke my heart!!!! Silver Charm, is now 25 Years Old, and he is still Alive and Beautiful!!!😍

Well to be fair he got lucky in the Preakness, without the bad trip Touch Gold wins by 2+ lengths

I can't wait to travel to Kentucky to visit Silver Charm at Old Friends Farm in Georgetown, KY. Home of more champions than any other farm. :-)

According to The Bloodhorse Magazine "Top U.S Racehorses of the XX Century List" Silver Charm, foaled on February 22, 1994, is ranked in 63th. place: 12 victories, 7 seconds, 2 thirds in 24 starts and U.S. $ 6,944,369. 1997 U.S. Champion 3 Year-old colt and inducted to The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 2007 ☺ 😊

Such a smart ride on Touch Gold by McCarron in the Belmont. He inherits a lead on the first turn im not sure he wants, but has the presence of mind to allow Wild Again and Silver Charm to go by in rather deep backstretch.
Most jockeys in that situation are keeping their horse on the lead, rather than risk being bottled up on the rail if they allow others by, and Im not sure that had Chris pulled the trigger to stay in front with clean positioning, that he has much left in the stretch.
    Great rider.

Remember this Triple Crown so Vividly....Was 24 Years old...Thought for Sure Real Quiet was going to Win the Crown...Just 1 Year later Baffert had another Horse who Won first 2 Legs of the Crown and lost in the Belmont...Absolutely Amazing...Had $100 Win on Victory Gallop...

My favorite horse was LEO! I ran 46.2 over half mile and he died in my arms after a truck accident. I trained him for the race.

It’s hard to watch Solis whipping poor Captain Bodgit like that. Horse was clearly getting tired and giving his all. Solis should have been set down for that.

Silver Charm ran a straight line, look at the tire marks (when the harrowed the track prior to the race) and Silver Charm is running right on one down the stretch. It was Captain Bodgit who veered inward into Silver Charm, even though Captain Bodgit was getting a beating of a life time on that side that he veers in by Alex Solis.
