Super entertaining and informative. The video didn’t felt like it was 26 mins long. I want more.

Absolutely love the fact that you made an entire documentary about scooter clamps.. And holy shit this looks like there’s an insane amount of effort behind this.

I saw the fucking dice clamp on your story, and it took me back… Back when I first started Scootering I had no idea what compression was, and I went to my local skate shop and they just so happened to have those blue slam scooters clamps. I bought it, put an SCs on my HIC bars, dropped in and was riding a skateboard before I got to flat

This is a hella great video with a lot of solid information! However I feel like he neglected to mention that it's almost impossible to get any of these non-current alternative colourways for a lot of these brands - It might mislead newer buyers into thinking that they're able to find a Five Elements full knuckle, lavender Native Orca, or the OG Isacc Miller Arc SCS. It might've been worth mentioning that these are extremely hard or near impossible to obtain nowadays!

    Ok 3 things:
    1. I’m riding the urban artt civic scs and I’m not a fan. They made the lips where the compression caps too small with like these fluted grooves for weight reduction. And it causes the compression cap to bend and eventually slide down into the scs. So my compression gets loose super easy.
    2. The phoenix grenade scs was probably one of the coolest scs’s I’ve ever had.
    3. That dice scs would have hit hard back in 2010 😂

The dice quad clamp from slamm scooters is a pretty rare part. I know a guy who has one and he told me they made under 300 of them.

Ics was great for awhile I used it when ethic made it a bigger bolt and it was good but scs was always what needed up back on my scooter no matter what I tried it’s tried and true and never once broke one apex forks and original scs I put on my scooter in 2011 and rode the same forks for nearly 10 years and the scs I stripped the bolts from over use was awesome eventually I changed to tilt because the bolts were so much stronger it made the clamp last so much better I went through a lot of parts in my time riding but forks and scs I only ever broke when I attempted to try another brands parts or systems there’s a reason I ran the same setup my whole scooter career and it’s because when you ride long term you find the parts that are right for you as all riding styles are hard on different parts but I used to wear district v3 decks through the bottom plate never snap them apex forks discoloured from the sun I’d had them so long same with my tilt scs and tilt chromo pegs I could only ever not find reliable bars wheels well they all wore at different rates but there was different brands such as proto. We found to be a good balance with strength and time lasted ratio with grippers on front and sliders on back lol

The industry has always had such an issue with over building parts. No single clamp in 2023 should weigh over 7oz. Proto is stuck in 2008 and so many brands focus on image instead of performance. Honestly the forged envy triple clamp beats these and it looks like absolute garbage but hey it’s 10$ at 6oz.

No mention of clamps from companies like Aztek and Prey?

    • @scootabrad
      @scootabrad  Před rokem

Aztek honestly didn’t come to mind when I think of clamps 😮
Pandora is pretty but standard only. Do they even do double clamps? 😅

    •  Před rokem +1

@@scootabrad Don’t think they do double clamps, but still way better looking than some of the brands’ products towards the end of your list imo. Prey has plenty of unique looking scs clamps tho, but no double clamps.

man this channel fell off so hard, you definitely would’ve kept a larger viewer base if you grew with ur audience, if you did grow up along side ur audience you’d be making car content now

Did you just come to comment this? I very much dislike this type of comment I'm not interested in "outgrowing scooters" - there is no such thing. I was never interested in being famous. I like to scooter and I like the interesting tech and gizmos that come with it. People will be back, and new people will discover scoot review. It's all about who serves what purpose. Being cool for vlogging isn't something I ever wanted to be it just sort of happened. I much prefer making informative content like this where it actually serves a purpose and helps show people theres lots more to scootering than meets the eye.
I do hope you'll return to watch a video for what it is. Rather than how many views it has.
