The sheer fact that public announcements are in uyghur, that shops have signs in uyghur only, etc... shows that there is something wrong in our media's narrative.
It could have been interesting to ask the little girl how education is delivered now. If I am not mistaken, in minorities areas, most courses are in the minority's language, there are courses of Chinese (Mandarin) as the common national language, and of English as international language.

Do you really think that this is all there is in East Turkestan? Just because people have shops doesnt mean they are not oppressed. Millions of Uyghurs are in concentration camps. The UN has found that the allegations of human rights abuses and torture are credible. Satellite imagery shows the existence of these camps. Testimony from former guards and hostages at the camps show in detail the types of torture.
Whilst the CCP has sent the men to camps, they have instituted a policy of "co-habitation" and forced marriages. They have even sponsored and funded ethnic Han men to marry Uyghur women. They are trying to completely destroy everything and anything Uyghur.

Tears in my eyes when I see these Uyghur peoples are so generous and friendly to a wandering traveller. Are they really oppressed as Western Media purportedly portrayed them? This is a magnificent video showing the lies of western media whithout pointing them out. Great job.

I had completely opposite experience unlike siming, I respect her and love her journalism style. But i can unsee a boy taken into custody right before my eye and next boy beaten just because to they had scar on hands and beard. Police followed me for three days I stayed there.

I have been watching similar channels like Cyrus Jansen, difference frames the world , Andy Boreham and also the hot pot king Nathan Rich. As a Chinese who used to live in Xinjiang, I would like to tell you that her video is full of lies and any Chinese can see that it is CCP propaganda.
When you look at the video, you may say, "Wow, it's so beautiful." You would think that there would be no problems in the region of the Uyghur Turks, which China calls Xinjiang but whose real name is East Turkestan. In this region, where CHINA reduced the UYGURS in its own region by settling the brutal invader Chinese called Han Chinese, the communist Chinese administration, which has no respect for any local culture or religion other than the Chinese culture, destroyed hundreds of years of religious and national monuments of the Uyghurs. The Chinese people, most of whom are atheists and do not respect religions and do not believe in God, also support this. Again, the cruel Chinese administration has been oppressing the poor Uyghurs for 10 years in the name of "being good citizens and not being carried away by extreme religious movements".. and keeping 4 Million Uyghur Turks in brutal camps like Hitler's Jewish camps.. and torturing and murdering them.. women. There are gang rapes. Chinese Scum police take turns to spend the night in the homes of married Uyghur men in the camps, and these police forcefully use these women. Those who leave these camps are seriously ill and on the verge of death, as seen in many videos. When they leave here, Uyghurs who escaped from China talk about the cruelty in these camps with tears. Siming Lan, this is another beautiful and powerful story presentation you created. The common people living, the Uyghur Life. I see peaceful and happy and natural expression of sincere people. If the nonsense created by the US is true about millions of Uyghur in prison and Xinjiang genocide, you should see worrying faces, hear frightened voices as their relaives are in prisons or concentration camp, or killed like the real genocide of the natives Americans.
Fun Fact :
If there was even a drip of evidence that China had perpetrated the heinous crime against the Uyghurs muslim in Xinjiang, the US and its allies wouldn't have passed the chance to not convene a UN special session to crucify and embarrass China. !!

in case you're curious (and i know you didn't mean any offence by this), the man at the graveyard didn't shake your hand as it is generally seen as disrespectful/taboo in islamic cultures to shake the hand of the opposite gender. usually people greet the opposite gender via a slight nod/placing both hands on their chest.

Well unless he stays there his whole life, travelling to another province he'll need to learn to shake hands with opposite sex.. shaking hands is a nationally accepted friendly gesture
I live in a majority muslim place and yes it's true. But if you still want to be polite, you can also use a namaste gesture which is more accepted between opposite gender

Not Islamic culture but Islamic teaching. It is not taboo, rather than more respect to women. No matter where you go it is in Islamic teaching. No touch skin to skin between opposite gender unless you wearing gloves. Of course you can touch your wife lol include some near relatives, it is all described in details in Islamic teaching. Simple.
Islam teaching is not a culture. It is a teaching. A culture you can change it to like LGBTQ+ in Islam you can't. If he someday shake hand opposite gender, yes he is muslim, human can be changed and make mistake, but Islam teaching is not.

Foreigners can also travel to Xinjiang freely to see it by themselves (not like Tibet, foreigners must be accompnied by their Chinese friends instead of traveling alone), but they never come here, they only talk like they have dreamed of Uyghurs every day. On our social media, I sometimes see Xinjiang minorities talk about their neglecting their language because their parents sent them to Han school where the education is better, they worried more and more minorities stop teaching their children their own language, this shares the same fate with many many Chinese dialects, my 5-year-old nephew were never taught how to speak our dialect, when every one of our family speaks the dialect on a table, he could only speak mandarin. I am happy to see so many Uyghurs are still speaking their laguage in daily life. Wish all the languages and dialects can be preserved well.

Xinxiang people study Uhigur language in school and my brother went to Tibet freely and not accompanied by any one. I am a Malaysian.

My friend is traveling around China and she said that the Xinjiang people are the happiest people she has seen in China so far. I am waiting to travel there myself, there are so many wonderful things to see and the food is amazing.
