What if the true cash cow is keeping the watch in gold only? : $20k+ premium to Patek for selling the “same” watch + additional prestige to the brand keeping the model in the higher price point & metal.
I would dare them to do that. But I’m sure they won’t resist to sell it in steel. If they can’t even wait more than 8 months without a 3 handed, men’s nautilus, I’m sure they can’t resist of the lesser which is a steel model.

Why sell steel for 30k when you can sell gold at twice the price? And don’t forget about the new production facility Patek built-paid for by the new cash 💰 cow 🐮!
Because there’s more margin on the steel than on the gold models. Plus they can have both with relatively low or no damage to the nautilus credibility.

i need to experience one at least. i managed to try my hands on an RM and RO but not a nautilus. i have heard that its rather underwhelming to some.
i could never afford a pp, but also dont think that they are anything special... but i also feel the same about rolex, etc
I agree with both your sentiments. In all honesty, I bought my submariner as a trophy for my achievement. But I also think it’s the better submariner out there for my preferences. There are far more interesting watches in the market than both of these.

It’s BS,my watch connection doesn’t offer me anymore nautilus’s or aquanauts cause those now go to grey market dealers.This is a horrible way to treat your customers especially those that have been supporting them for the past 25yrs.I see soo many new one for sale on the internet for triple the price but none to be had for retail?it’s not rare when hundreds are available every day new.
That is really sad. It swipes these watch off from people who would really love to own them and not trade for later.
The 5711 has no weight to it, 116 grams! The white gold 5811, must weigh 180 grams! The Patek Nautilus is still one ugly watch!
