- Samarkand was one of the major stops on Silk Road. In the 14th century it became the capital of the Timurid empire (founded by Tamerlane/Timur), and one of the most important and beautiful cities in Central Asia.
Samarkand is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites: "The historic town of Samarkand is a crossroad and melting pot of the world's cultures. Founded in the 7th century B.C. as ancient Afrasiab, Samarkand had its most significant development in the Timurid period from the 14th to the 15th centuries. The major monuments include the Registan Mosque and madrasas, Bibi-Khanum Mosque, the Shakhi-Zinda compound and the Gur-Emir ensemble, as well as Ulugh-Beg's Observatory." @@melzzyzuniga5280 Autumn is our season of ripening. You can find all the fruits grown here. Our fruits are unique. Because we do not process chemicals. Only some melons (melons, watermelons, dandelions) ripen in September. But now they are hard to find.

For more than 1000 years these cities weren't Tajik or Persian.
So much angry from Tajik side toward Uzbeks. During the decades a lot of nationalities were living there. We never had such ethnic problems Tajik, Uzbek... However If you take a look a bit closer...
For the last 1000 years before Russian Empire entered these regions were ruled by Amir Temur (Turkic-Mongolian), Sheybani han (Uzbek) etc in other words this territories were ruled by Uzbek or Turkic emirs, khans, or whatsoever. There is a link below you can see which nationalities were living and what was the population.
I agree with that fact that in the beginning these places were Persian, but it was long time ago more than 1000 years. After that none of Persian Dynasty or Persian Emirs were there.
The reason why after collapsing USSR. Samarkand and Bukhara was given to Uzbekistan only because Uzbek or Turkic leaders were the last and most successful leaders. Who build everything there: Gur Emir, Registan etc. and not Tajik or Persian leaders.

Many Scholars from samarkand came to kashmir nearly 700-800 years ago they brought many things with them even they introduced islam to kashmiri peoples. In Mulk E Kashmir we have many things similar to central asian countries like culture food art etc.

This city has seen some of history's greatest figures, from Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan to Babur and Tamerlane, this last of whom really made it the sparkling jewel it is today. Many of those lavish mosques and madrasahs were commissioned by him. God, what it must have been like in his time!

I can't believe this place looks like a dream land. Tamerlane (Temur Lang) Emperor built this city centuries ago. How intelligent and mighty ruler he would be ! I was watching Bokhara HD video, that city is also worth watching. Architecture was amazing of Emperor Temur's times. His predecessors ruled India for centuries after him. Indian Emperors had a beautiful taste like their forefather Temur. Samarkand and Bokhara look like the reflection of paradise. When he parished Sheraz city and tried to punish Hafiz Sherazi regarding one verse in which Hafiz admired Samarkand and Bokhara but Emperor Temur ended up rewarding Hafiz rather than punishing him, was the famous story of that region till today.
In short these historic buildings showing in the video depict the face of paradise. They are really mesmerising and adorable.
