I think that Kitana being a revenant is really one of her saddest moments. She said, “It suits me. I am a victim no longer.” It goes to show that Kitana always felt sadness within her since birth. A tragic princess indeed 😢
Revenant Kitana is Kitana if she was Shao Kahn's perfect daughter. In other words, if she behaved like Mileena: Arrogant, uncompromising, brutal and indifferent to the suffering of others.

It was disappointing not having a Kitana chapter. I wanted to see Kitana fight Mileena. I was expecting to see a Jade cameo.. I expected to have a Mileena vs Kitana fight, where Mileena almost wins, but Jade interfers to save Kitana by throwing Kitana her staff to use, and Mileena kills Jade, exlaining the mournful variation or something
But overall the story was allright I guess. I need to play it again to try to like it

I was disappointed that they didn't revive Kitana and the others , but I like this darker Kitana , now serving the Netherrealm . Then again , the comics are still running and they might be revived in the comic series . Also Sareena mentioned she could be of aid to Kitana , helping Kitana control her emotions , allowing Kitana to be freed which means not all hope is lost , even if Hanzo killed Quan Chi . I also wanted Kitana to be revived in the story because I wanted to see her paying homage to Jade . I know she had Jade's glaive at 7:21 but I wanted to see how much she truly missed her friend .

GabeShadow666 Zane Girard I asked the comic writer on twitter whether he has begun or is gonna begin writing a comic about KItana and he says he hasn't even started yet. Looks like the chances that Kitana even appears in the comics are quite low. :-(

I was disappointed with Kitana still being undead as I feel the mournful variation now makes no sense. Jade was a revenant in MK9 as well yet not shown or mentioned in story mode, we only see Kitana having her glaive on her back but that doesn't tell us much. I wanted Kitana to be resurrected and maybe join up with Sub-Zero and be a bodyguard or something, while her and Sub-Zero made it a mission to free Jade, Smoke and the others from Quan Chi. It would also make mournful make a lot more sense, along with seeing Kitana try to overcome her sadness and her hate for Raiden for accidentally killing Liu Kang.
Savagefox921 Yeah, there could have been many possible story twists. After her reveal trailer in January we began imagining many things which weren't meant to happen. Even though we did want to see Mournful Kitana in the story, I think Jade will play a huge role in MK11. :-) and Kitana was so cool in MKX (unlike MK9) :-) She kicked butt and took names.
Savagefox921 God I wish you wrote the story line for the newer MK's. It would've been a lot more interesting to me. Really don't care about the Cages or special team forces.

I think Raiden could be ONE of the main antagonists in MK 11, along with Kitana & Liu. I hope that in the end, to redeem himself somehow, Raiden will sacrifice his life so that Liu and the other Revenants become free--in time to face the threat of Onaga....

I really, REALLY don't like how Revenant Kitana acts. Everytime I think of Kitana, I think of the proud Edenian Princess who ruled with grace and her beauty knew no bounds. Plus her relationship with Liu Kang is one of the best OTPs in the series. Seeing her like that...it hurts my heart...badly.

Now regarding Kitana... who is my absolute favorite kharacter in the mk franchise. I personally love how they have done her here in mkx and I actually relish the thought of her being more morally ambiguous but not necessarily evil. However knowing Netherrealm Studios, they might just go down that predictable route with our girl. -_-There are some things they have yet to improve on regarding her character development and so on but I'm not going to go into that just yet... anyway nice video you have put together here and expect to see me commenting in your videos in the near future lol. :P

With Kitana as the Queen of the Netherrealm. My question what will entow. As we see the character change in her, she is enjoying no longer being the victim of conquest. She is now bringing the fight against her foe. And with it, her amibuous alignment remains open. Perhaps she is evil, or the fact she now rules along side Liu Kang, this can go places.
Hopefully the group found a way to restore Jade. As Jade has served long as Kitana's best friend and rescued Kitana on multiple accounts. As well as Tanya being around, now is the best time to serve a Jade vs. Tanya rivalry once again. We will find out what will happen in the years to come. Four years from now, we may find out the next story. And hopefully Jade returns.
+Kitana Fan Page Which song did you use in the begging? Plus the next mortal kombat will most likely be taking place around Deception and Deadly Alliance. So most likely Kitana will return but possibly Nitara, Kira, (etc) so which characters from around that timeline (no popular characters) the unpopular or characters that haven't been playable in years.

Although I did not like Kitana staying an evil revenant, at first, it does make sense to leave her that way for the sake of the story. As far as who will be able to revive her, that task will initially fall to Sareena and Ashrah (MK: Deception). I don't believe she will be the main antagonist in MK 11. I think she will be one of the main protagonists again, but with the attitude she has in MK X. How? Too much details to write here...

I never noticed that from 7:13 to 7:22 Jade's glaive is secured on Kitana's back. I used to think the Mournful variation was not canon until I saw this. Maybe this explains Jade's disappearance.

As long as they keep her around......When you unlock her "dark empress skin" it says "Kitana it says she fought on the side of earthrealm against outworld's invasion and died defending it, her soul was collected by Quan Chi who created an evil "revenant" version of Kitana and that she now serves Quan Chi and the Netherrealm."
shawn1428 According to the story writers she doesn't want serve anyone, she is willing to rule herself with Liu Kang. I wouldn't say she's officially bad or dead now. She's alive but her soul is still corrupted by the dark magic which revived her. It's funny because she says : "I am a victim no longer" but in fact she IS a victim just like Liu and Kung Lao. They all need help and I'm pretty sure this will move the plot in MK11.

Liu's expression at the end is hilarious...like "damn I think we f-ed up...time to stop being a baddie.." I think in XI they will either turn back to normal or be more independent..no faction to call their own but will have remorse for their friends and try to help. Emotion is the cure or at least a good start...Jade makes sense for starting that cure for Kitana..and in turn she will heal Liu Kang and maybe Cyndil.

I wish MK11 could be a story like Injustice: Gods Amung Us. Like there is another dimension where all the characters are not revenants and Kitana is the queen of Edenia. She will have a son with Liu Kang called Chi Kang (or maybe another name). Her son will look like a male version of her, but with 2 swords (like the Prince of Persia) instead of 2 fans. She will then face her revenant self and try to bring her back to normal. Could that be a great idea for a MKX sequel to you?
I love the idea of a parallel dimension, especially the one where the Kitana from the original timeline lives :-). I'm not really ready for Kitana to have a child just yet. That would make her a secondary character, just like it happened to Sonya Blade in MKX, and draw all the attention from her to her offspring.)

Interesting ending. maybe Kitana and Liu can have children in MK11, since some of the other members have started. I main her so imagine one of the child's abilities where they can switch between fans and then fireballs mid match
i also agree with you, i always wanted that perfect couple beget a child, Liu Kang's mighty seed in Kitana' sexy belly, would be the begin on a new and powerful dynasty, (with a edenian/human hybrid heir), but they will have some problems when the reproduction time come, if they they remains as revenants, ie without possibility of spawn because their ''condition'', unless they are completely revived, with their biological functions restored.

No, he didn't turned revenant as of now. Although Raiden is still allied with Earthrealm, Raiden became ruthless because of the corruption of the Jinsei to him. You see in the conclusion that Raiden talks to Kitana and Liu Kang which is the New Rulers of the Netherrealm and Raiden said to them that he will show no mercy and he will destroy all who threaten Earthrealm.

The only ones that are revenants are Liu Kang, Kitana, Sindel, Stryker(?), and a few others that I can't remember but they have nothing to do with your question anyways. Jade should be one too considering she was apart of the massacre in MK9 and was less mutilated than some of the charachters that show up as revenants in MKX, but, you know, reasons.
