This was a good video for showing the different methods and providing a subjective comparison, thanks for posting it! What would be great is measurement data- how much the CO2 concentration is raised by each method in a given water volume over a given time and at a given bubble rate.
Tunze makes a great cheap reactor that served my 55 very well. Its just a tiny powerhead with a clear downtube and a little nipple on the side for the co2 to flow in. Then the gas gets trapped and chopped up over and over again. I'm pretty sure I got 95% or more dissolution. I used the yeast method because the reactor was so efficient I didn't need to go with compressed gas.
+debbie foster I'd hate to sound like one of those annoying youtubers but I'm focusing a lot of the videos that I'm working on right now on aquatic plant care, hope you subcribe!
I have a powerhead to diffuse DIY CO2 in a 20Gal and the CO2 is very low so i plan to get a ladder diffuser although you said its worse. I hope it works better.
+Teodor Angelov The ladder works really well. The only thing that sucks is the maintenance and look of it, but if you can deal with it, it's worth it good luck!
I use #2 in my 55 gallon and when starting it, I didn't even know it would be that effective, I just thought up how it might work on my own without seeing any videos on it.
Myaquariuminfo I clicked on this video because I was wondering if by any chance my method was good, and as it went by I was thinking there's no way mines on there because I'm new to planted tanks and I was very surprised to see it! Love the video though
Hey man, love your videos! Iv got a 60Gal with mostly swords and Discus. Problem is they've been yellowing and browning on me. The tanks tall, so the bulbs were replaced to Life-Glos and the guy at my lfs said having my air stone on all day isn't helping the plants, note that my air stone is pretty big, about the size of your palm. Any thoughts?
Hey what's up! I don't think the air stone is the problem. What happens with tall tanks is that even strong lights can't supply your plants with the amount of lights they need. I'm still new at this CZcams stuff so I might not have the beat vids but I'll definitely make a video that'll help people with tall tanks (: This is what I advise you to do: Get STRONG FILTRATION I currently run a 75 gallon hang on filter and 2 nat geo filters on my 50 gallon tank. It might sound excessive but it keeps my water crystal clear and allows my lights to supply the most amount of lighting possible. If your water is not crystal clear you're not getting the most out of your lighting. Next make sure to dose your plants with liquid fertilizers 2x a week. Then, as soon as ANY yellow leafs come out..pull them out immediately. Your plant will be wasting useful energy trying to keep the dying parts alive. If you don't have a nutrient based substrate make sure you get some! Co2 is a MUST and make sure you have enough. The air stone you have is actually good for the plants because at night the plants stop converting co2 into energy and literally breathe in all the air in the water, if your tank is heavily planted this will cause stress for your fish at night because they can suffocate! If you think that the air stone is the problem just increase your co2 and it should balance out. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS!! Good luck!
+Russ Polk I like both but I've experienced better results with the ladder. I did one month each, same exact plants. The glass diffuser makes a lot of little bubbles...but they don't diffuse all the c02 About 75%, The ladder diffuses about 90 % of the c02 . Therefore I recommend it. Still both are nice and I use both lol
Are all bubbler stones Co2 related? Do they just need to be hooked up to the air pump to work or will I need some sort of gas bottle/constant source of Co2?
+Lillyleaf101Mew I don't get what "are all bubbler stones c02 related" if you're asking if you can connect your c02 supply to any air stone yes, you can. and the pressure of the c02 will release the gas, no need to have an airpump
+apoktay35 glad it helped (: I think it would be okay for a short period of time. Maybe for showcasing the aquarium but not as the primary diffuser. I would recommend plastic over glass because it's more durable.
I have the #1 CO2 reactor and only paid $15.00 on Amazon. Works great on my 65 gal planted aquarium. Thanks for sharing your information. I'm glad I purchase the right one.
How can a ladder out perform a glass ceramic diffuser when it's all about bubble size and contact time a glass ceramic would rank as joint 2 along with the atomic range from green leaf. You want the bubbles to be pushed around the tank not just go straight up and pop at the surface which is exactly what a ladder does
+Matt Phillips It's actually the other way around. The bubbles from the diffuser go straight up while the bubbles from the ladder are prevented from going straight up and you can physically see them shrink into nothing. The diffuser bubbles remain the same and go straight to the top and pop.
+Myaquariuminfo that's why you place it directly under your outflow so they are blown around your tank like I said contact time that big bubble has small contact time comes straight out the ladder and pops at the surface I use glass diffusers and what's more Mr Amano used a glass diffuser and I think he knows alot more than you seeing as he invented CO2 injection
+Matt Phillips Are you really trying to argue that a glass diffuser works better than a ladder? A ladder is discreet and can be tucked away in the back. The bubbles DO NOT go straight up, they go from side to side until they completely dissolve. The diffuser releases tiny bubbles that diffuse but not entirely. And if you put them under the flow they just float all over and go back to the top. I personally don't like tiny bubbles constantly floating throughout the tank, it looks odd. If you like that go ahead and use it. I prefer more diffusion without noticing it. And amano inventing a diffuser with poor output does not make him more knowledgeable my friend. I never even claimed to be smarter or know more than anyone? Idk why you are being so confrontational.

can i give u a hint? if you don't still have the video, save the link and put it in on keepvid.com then you can change it in your vid maker. saves messing with putting the bits together again x
You must not have any idea how a filter works if you think it can build pressure or damage the pump,it like a little bit of air going thru the pump, happens alla time.
uhhh...it says on the instructions that come with filters. lol. bubles can damage the spinning parts. but sure jim. do as you please, I'm not gonna give that advice though.
Oh god😅 I get a lot of complaints about It...lol I barely started and had no idea how to make videos heh, I kept them up to learn from them. But please check out a newer vid😅 give me a chance to redeem myself 😂
This is all bull. I got my CO2 line in the suction side of my HOB filter and the impeller in my pump shreds the bubbles so fine they dont even get out of the pump. I just watched it for several min. and I can hear the bubbles hit the pump(a growling sound) but NO bubbles come out so I'm using 100% of my CO2
I was still learning how to make videos at the time.....hey I cringe now but I keep it up for the info...I hope you check out a newer vid! And sorry again for the music!
Myaquariuminfo search for UP inline CO2 atomizer on Amazon. Goes on the inflow tube of your filter and totally dissolves the CO2 by the time in comes through the outflow. Trust me man its amazing.

Thanks! I made this way back when I started lol.....so it's not so great.
Buy I am definitely going to remake it!

Lol, the whole vid sounded like you were documenting an elusive Pokemon... Good stuff though!
+Danger Gismo
Cut me some slack...😂
I was still learning how to make videos back then lol
I'm redoing this one heh
😆😂😅
good video but watch with the sound down. The music is really annoying
Annoying? I used to keep Orion keygens running just for the music
what about inline diffusers?
Thanks for Brasil. I use the bubble ladder by ten years and is the best.
Very good information from you .thanks!
thank you!
Music is bangin! Haters gonna hate
Nice video. I just installed the bubble ladder in my 55 gal. Fingers crossed. I've never gone with live plants before.
+debbie foster
I'd hate to sound like one of those annoying youtubers but I'm focusing a lot of the videos that I'm working on right now on aquatic plant care, hope you subcribe!
The soundtrack is sick! I kinda love it but had to mute it out, otherwise I couldn't focus on reading. Good job though:)
Thanks for the explanation. By the way, Angels and Tiger Barbs in the same tank?
So sad....
Oh god the music
4:49 What are you doing? on the one hand you throw co2 and on the other hand you eject it with the aerator?
I have a powerhead to diffuse DIY CO2 in a 20Gal and the CO2 is very low so i plan to get a ladder diffuser although you said its worse. I hope it works better.

As did I lol but as I started researching I was bummed to see its a method used lol);
But smart thinking!
Myaquariuminfo I clicked on this video because I was wondering if by any chance my method was good, and as it went by I was thinking there's no way mines on there because I'm new to planted tanks and I was very surprised to see it! Love the video though
what do you think about external ista Co2 reactor? is the better option?
its probably a bit easier, but I prefer diy set ups as I can control the pressure and its dirt cheap, my rig cost 4.25 ill be posting a diy c02 soon
I wonder if attaching the co2 line to a T connector in my outflow filter tube would work.

+Myaquariuminfo i hear you.i am a big fan the glass diffusers
Have you actually measured it or is it something you've assumed?
Can you provide a link to the Nutrafin CO2 Fertilization System
best way is a good glass diffuser under a power head or filter
I thought/think perhaps in-line diffusers are the best method currently available.
agreed(: that's what I used in this video
+Gus Ayala you used a reactor; is that the same as a atomic inline diffuser?
+bman2013 no
Helpfull vid ;) whats the name of the song? i know its a version of pokemon gym leader battle theme. but there are 1000's remixes
and what about a bazooka diffuser?
What's the music on this? i like it
Are all bubbler stones Co2 related? Do they just need to be hooked up to the air pump to work or will I need some sort of gas bottle/constant source of Co2?
can you please rephrase the question
I am honestly not sure how I could rephrase it to make it read any better than it does now...

I don't get what "are all bubbler stones c02 related"

Thank you for this informative video. I would like to ask a question; What do you think about ISTA 3 in 1 Diffuser ?
+apoktay35 glad it helped (:
I think it would be okay for a short period of time. Maybe for showcasing the aquarium but not as the primary diffuser. I would recommend plastic over glass because it's more durable.
Put the Diffusers under the intake of your canister filter or any filter really ...Bubbles will be in water much, much longer
I have the #1 CO2 reactor and only paid $15.00 on Amazon. Works great on my 65 gal planted aquarium. Thanks for sharing your information. I'm glad I purchase the right one.

The point of a video, is so i don't have to read, but watch people explain.
I was learning to make videos at the time lol...so sorry! I hope you give me another shot and check out a more recent video😁
Couldn’t sit through the music.
sorry the music made me click off. Shame because this is a good informative video.

Nice soundtrack, what is it?
+Thiago Cavalcanti pokemon heh....
Unfortunately, some reactors can be purchased for under 50 dollars.. that being said, quality may not be there.
liked as soon as I heard the pokemon theme song

nice informations, thx
where is "Atomizer?" .need high pressure co2, produce finest bubble in the world... ?
+Hafizuddin Osman didn't include it as it isn't readily available at LFS, I'll mention it on the remake of this vid if it helps heh.

That can cause a pressure build up, noise and damage a filter. Really bad method. Do a little more research.
You'll never get 100%. There will always be some off gasing.
Music is horrible. I couldn't want the video.
I was still learning how to make videos at the time.....hey I cringe now but I keep it up for the info...I hope you check out a newer vid! And sorry again for the music!
Or just use a reactor and not lose any co2
+Dr. Death reactors can get expensive :0
Fuck all that and get a in-line CO2 diffuser...The best out there and doesn't take up any space in your tank.
+TheFigure in line?
Myaquariuminfo search for UP inline CO2 atomizer on Amazon.
Goes on the inflow tube of your filter and totally dissolves the CO2 by the time in comes through the outflow.
Trust me man its amazing.
+TheFigure
Oh an atomizer, I would love to use it
.....but not looking to spend too much );
Maybe I'll save up for a cylinder......eventually heh.
you do know that CO2 means carbon dioxide and O2 means oxygen, what you want to mix is O2 (Oxygen) with the water not CO2
Moronic video music. Fail.
+El Grande I was still learning how to make videos at that time heh. You should check out something recent👍
Foh with that music, what the hell is that? Euro trash techno? Good informative video though.
