Namibia's President Hage Geingob, 82, died in hospital early on Sunday (February 4), the presidency said, weeks after he was diagnosed with cancer. Geingob died at Lady Pohamba Hospital in Windhoek, where he was receiving treatment from his medical team, the presidency said.

Doubt that when he helped to write the constitution, that the safe guards and procedures for a worst case would be tested by himself! As a Namibian I am proud to say that the procedures for the new President Nangolo Mbumba and vice president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's swearing in was like clockwork and open to the world to see that Namibia and Africa can have democracy.
