Negan killed Abe because he was the toughest one of the group and Abe wasn’t scared of negan
He wants to make them bow down to him and he did the opposite so he knew it would be really hard to break him
Make sense because Abe is a war veteran that was trained to fight and to die at any cost and he probably been in situations like this during his time in the military.
sayegh24 he killed Abe on purpose in the show (and Abe was already dead before this part in the comics), and killed Glenn randomly in the show after Daryl hit him. In the comics, Glenn was killed COMPLETELY randomly after eenie meenie miney moe

Yes and Glenn was one of the most important member in Rick's group. Negan didn't kill people randomly, it looks like, but he killed Glenn in purpose actually.
Here’s a fun fact: The episodes title goes back to the season 1 finale. When Rick says he’s grateful to dr Jenner for releasing them from suicide. Dr Jenner says “the day will come when you won’t be”. Dr Jenner was right from the start. This was the day rick regrets what he said when he witnessed Glenn and Abraham’s death

Greatest line ever
This episode is the most traumatizing episode of The Walking Dead and any other show I've ever seen. I felt the same yall did it bring every emotion out of you and it was traumatizing. It hurt to losing Glenn so I know your pain. Watching y'all's reaction to this brought it all back for me and I was crying and shaking right along with you. But this is why I love The Walking Dead you get so invested in these characters and they become part of your family and it hurts to lose one of your favorite characters. Great reactions. I assume that anyone who could remember the start of the Walker Apocalypse has PTSD. Like a whole generation has it.
You know they all had to film a death scene and when word got out before the episode aired that's what made us all scared because all our predictions went down the drain...and waiting that long man...it was really aggravating lol
I’m pretty sure this episode gave all us viewers PTSD. It was brutal
watching Abe and Glen get killed like that was really tense never thought that they would be so graphic with it. i remember having to go outside and smoke about 3 cigarettes to calm down a bit

Although I was crying for Abraham and Glenn, I was also impressed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan's acting, he made Negan the best bad guy in history

I think Negan took Abraham because Abraham was the one person out of everyone who didn’t hesitate to look at Negan and showed no fear, which probably made Negan feel threatened. He wants to be feared, not looked at like he’s nothing.
Michonne and Carl showed no fear either.

Even though Steve and Lacey are fine with it, I still don't like ppl are saying "something is coming" "wait fo it" etc. It would be better if they had no idea whatsoever that something will happen.

i love the title to this episode its a call back to S1 finally at the CDC when the doctor told rick "the day will come when you wont be" one of the few additions to the show that wasnt in the comics that i actually enjoyed and thought was clever.

Man I remember watching this episode nearly 4 years ago now. Imo one of the greatest episodes of television of all time, and my fourth favorite episode of the show. 408 being 3rd 501 in 2nd and 609 being my all time favorite
I agree but I would put 4x08 in 1st ( it is on my list) b/c it’s crazy that when you see the prison one last time and the group they had back then b4 Abraham, Gabriel, Eugene, Rosita and Tara (yes I know Tara was in both gov stand alone episodes but I honestly thought Maggie or Daryl were gonna kill her during the prison battle) and Aaron. I remember I watched 4x08 during the season 7 mid season break and I remember saying damn the prison was 3 seasons ago where did the time go? And now after getting through season 10 as well as these bonus episodes it baffles me that it’s been almost 8 yrs since 4x08.
Just like horses and doctors, "moral compass" characters don't fare well on TWD!!!😔🧟

Lemme tell you this, I was not prepared for what went down, and it had already been spoiled for me that Glenn died. That was just so brutal. Also, I feel so bad for Darryl, he already blames people's deaths on himself, and he directly caused Glenns.

I didn't know this until later, but Denise died in Abraham's place. In the comic Abraham gets the arrow to the back of the head there. Also, she has been searching for and holding in her hand the soda 'Orange Crush' foreshadowing Abraham's new fate.

This was the final episode I watched live. Felt it was the perfect TWD ending to the series. While I may someday watch the remaining seasons, it really hasn't moved me.

The year of waiting was excruciatingly painful. Every time you thought of the show you felt that pit in your stomach, the one you get this whole episode- of absolute fucking dread.
My family watched TWD live on television from season 3 until this point. We always got together. We finally decided to do an actual viewing party for spooky season, since it aired in mid October. We all got together with spooky snacks: gelatin brains, Walker Fingers (cookies), salami and cheese skulls. Then we watched it. My aunt and her best friend stepped out of the room crying in the middle of Glenn’s death, her best friend’s husband was just sitting there defeated staring at the floor. My uncle cursed at the TV loudly. He was upset. My cousin almost vomited.
We never did another viewing party again.

I don’t know why I find it so easy to like Negan after this episode and what follows BUT FIND IT SO HARD TO LIKE EUGENE AND GABE AFTER THEY TURNED THEIR BACKS ON THOSE WHO PROTECTED THEM!

My teen daughter and I had watched the whole Walking Dead series up to the end of season 6.. I always watched a little ahead to monitor subject matter. This is the episode I stopped her viewings at. The show became more about the brutality of the people left in this world than it was about the zombie anymore. Now that she is 17, if she ever wanted to continue it we'll sit back down.

Late, but I do wonder why they decided to involve Daryl in Glenn's death instead of just doing it like in the comic, knowing that many people will blame and hate Daryl, and some still do to this day, when he's their most popular character, so why risk his popularity and reputation like that?
Although, the hate he got was short lived and he's still incredibly popular and beloved even now years later, so I guess it still worked out.
It's such a shame that the deaths got spoiled for me months prior to the episode airing. I'm glad it didn't get spoiled for you guys!

I remember that summer. It really was crazy at the comment section. I was following this Canadian guy Trevchan2. And I think he went a bit crazy to. The speculation for over a year. I think we needed all therapy after we finally got to see this. My two teenage boys stoped watching the series after this episode and I can't blame them. I heard other people in the comments stoped watching this show after this episode to. It was to much for them.
