- Toe was a japanese post-rock/math rock band formed at the end of 2000. Originally active as Dove during the '90s, renamed to Toe in 2000 when their drummer Dairoku Seki (from Envy) was replaced by Takashi Kashikura.

Thank you so much for uploading, this is insane, i always wondered if there were any lives of toe recorded before their first dvd since they showed some footage of them in its intermissions. Also, do you happen to know the name of the 2nd and 4th song? the first one is I dance alone and the third is past and language but i cant make out the other 2. The riff at 5:17 sounds a lot like the one played by the acoustic guitar in our next movement around the 1:30 mark, but the cut dvd performance sounds even more like it since its played by an electric guitar too, but the song itself sounds nothing like that, not even an earlier version, if anything it reminds me more of velvet blanc which was already a song by the the time this live was played, right? As for the 4th song, i have no clue.
You know the band better than me, I have no idea about this song's name, I barely remember the name of the club where this show happened... :)

Must´ve been so cool being there back then, i always shame myself for not discovering them earlier, i missed their only show in my country in 2018 and get sad when i think about the many frequent live shows they´ve done in japan and the iterations of songs like these that´ll never be heard. That´s why i´m so grateful for this upload

@@harrycrouze6621I have, the contrast between the two is great, i couldnt believe yamazaki was the vocalist there but you can hear him when he talks softly on some dove songs, and when he screams while performing with toe, such a drastic change. I believe takaaki was also a lead singer on his old band whilst kashikura was a support, wonder how they met up and kicked it off with instrumentals

@@galih6204 kalo musisi math rock/post rock Indonesia pasti tau bang sama toe, dan toe dulu juga pernah tour ke Indonesia, 2010 kayanya. saya pernah ajak temen saya cover past and language dulu waktu masih jaman studio, mereka ok sama musik musiknya toe

wait, toe used to be a band called dove?? i never knew that
it was a screamo band with yamazaki the lead guitarist as vocals, and yamane as the bassist. they renamed as kashikura and takaaki joined the band. you can hear bits of screaming on their first album that are reminiscent of dove, their works as dove are nice too if you like that genre
toes drummer and for a bit their second guitarist were in this band called reach, takaaki was only in their second album which was selftitled, czcams.com/video/0Vsab3-0cvg/video.htmlsi=vv1Pc5BcvFXORWnQ the instrumentals were slightly more energetic than in toe but their sound was already there, after all it released the same year as toe's first ep

I can only tell the first one is "I Dance Alone" and the third one is "Past and Language". The other two are probably unreleased or released on demos and local eps, cause they currently are not part of the band's discography
