9:47 Royal familes like to give their kids the same name. That's why we had 16 King Louies, 8 King Henrys and so on. It gets confusing in real life too.
I’m not %100 sure but I think when that lady’s said Aegon’s taste are less discriminating, she meant he doesn’t come to the high level brothels a lot even though he’s a prince, homeboy will basically hook up with anyone…
@@timothypolanco8622 yea but they’re most likely changing that for the show cause she would’ve straight up said it like the rumors she spreads in the books, her choice of words of “less discriminating” to imply little girls, when old men marry 12 year olds all the time in this world doesn’t match up to me but you could be right…they already show enough sexual assault in this world, I feel like Pedophilia might be a little too much
- I don't think they meant Aegon was a PDFile lmfaooo! I believe they meant he likes to watch children fight & also some of his bastards fight in those rings, still horrible person tho! - Also Viserys' dagger is the one Arya uses to kill the Night King and also where the song of ice & fire is written!! - Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenyra still, By Aegon, he meant Aegon the Conqueror, the dude who conquered westeros, that dude had a dream (song of ice & fire) in which a prince/princess was promised, Alicent only knows 1 Aegon her son, so ofc she thought viserys was naming him, but the viewer know that viseys meant smthg else - extra info: In GOT, we find out that Jon snow, whose targaryen name also happens to be named Aegon & Daenerys fulfill the prophecy of the prince\princess who was promised
Jon's name being aegon is only a show thing which makes Apsolutely no since as Rhaegar already had a son named aegon so we should take that with a grain of salt .
@@thatoneblackdude3333 You gotta think man, if me & a friend of mine both had children of the same name, when that name is uttered I think about my child! not someone else’s
Rhaenys dragon is called Meleys also know as the Red Queen. Meleys was considered to be one of the swiftest dragons in Westeros, easily outpacing Caraxes and Vhagar. By the time the story takes place Meleys had grown lazy. But is still fearsome when roused. Meleys is old, cunning and no stranger to battle.
i didnt think it was that complicated to follow.. the queen and the hand both wanted to get to aegon first so they could control him. the hand would have had aegon send the order to kill rhaenyra and her kids, the queen didnt want that to happen.
it's dumb and contrived and serves only to fill the runtime. Otto is still hand of the king and would have plenty of chances to talk to the king in private, the whole race to find Aegon was filler.
Right, the Sept of Baelor hasn't even been built yet. I suppose this episode takes place in 129 AC? The Sept of Baelor isn't completed until after Baelor the Blessed dies, which means we've got at least another 45-50 years.
42:48 "There is a beast beneath the boards" as Aegon's sister says at 16:31. I think that confirms that she's a "dreamer", somebody who can see glimpses of the future. You also say at 41:06 that she might have a feeling of this being a bad idea so yeah, you might be right.
Also when she was a kid, when Aemond was talking about wanting a dragon, she whispered, "He will have to close an eye". Which happened the next episode (Aemond loses an eye but gains a dragon.) So yes, Helaena is defo a dreamer!
The guy they stopped at the gate and then hanged is not the Lord Commander, it was one of the nobles who was hesitating to bend the knee in front of Otto, then (pretended to) do it after 2 others were arrested.
In the books,Aemond resembles Daemon in so many ways that there are rumours (false) that he's actually Daemon's son. Also if you take the D from Daemon and put it at the end,it becomes Aemond
This all would have happened even if Alicent didn't misinterpret Viserys' delirious last moments. Otto and the small council were plotting this for years behind Alicent's back, as they admitted at the start of the episode.
Otto's biggest mistake was not letting Rheanyra on the throne, she's not a good queen and Daemon wont be liked by the lords. Otto could've used that to his advantage. Sooner or later, they will all want her out of the throne and Aegon would take over due to Rheanyra's kids being bastards (Viserys wont be there to cover up)
@@rexibhazoboa7097 And if u think about it. The Civil War would've still happened. There was just too many Royals and bastards that it was inevitable whoever was the king/queen.
31:28 It's not that confusing. Criston and Aemond wanted to find Aegon and bring him to the Queen. Erryk and Arryk wanted to find Aegon and bring him to the Hand. Whoever controls Aegon has power. 35:52 Commander??? That's Lord Caswell. 36:40 That was Mysaria's house being burnt down by one of Larys Strong's men. 39:19 NOPE. You're thinking of the Sept of Baelor and it hasn't even been built yet. THIS is the Dragon pit.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 um the blacks are and were always the right side you think the rapist king was the side to choose ? The greens were always the bad guys if anything the show white washed them to make them less bad .
I can see that you got something confused, that was not the lord commander they hang, it was just a minor lord, if you remember him he expressed his service towards the princess Rhaenyra when she was climbing the stairs with Laenor in episode 6.
22:43 wtf how?😂He’s not a pedo he’s sadistic he watch’s kids kill each other that was the crazies jump to concussions ever kinda scary actually just running with something like that🤯🤣
Actually he is a pedo, the line from the hooker was a reference for the book readers. Because in the books it is said that sir criston finds Aegon laid in bed with 11 year old girl's.

29:20 Your Zoolander moment. The White Worm literally explained why she was giving him back seconds before. She's going to help those kids! She doesn't care who is in power. They're all corrupt in her eyes. But now she uses her leverage to affect real change.
Neither duo searching for the prince wanted to kill the prince. They wanted to take him back to either Otto or the queen. Because both otto and the queen want to control the prince and whoever got to him first could persuade him to do what they wanted. They were just trying to influence Aegon’s decision on what to do about princess Rhaenyra and her kids. Otto wants them dead, Alicent wants them spared.
Girls! Milk of the poppy is opium, the equivalent of modern morphine maybe stronger, not alcohol. In the previous episode, when Viserys was dying & talking to Alicent, he thought he was talking to Rhaenyra about The Song Of Ice & Fire/Aegon 1st aka The Conqueror's dream & whether or not it was true, He thought he was telling Rhaenyra that she was the prince that was promised from Aegon's dream. Alicent misinterpreted what Viserys was saying. When he mumbled "My love", he saw his dead wife right before he passed away, possibly to lead him to the afterlife. Ok, this episode, Larys (Foot Fetish Guy) sent his Busy Bees to burn down the house of the White Worm aka Daemon's ex-. Whether or not she was inside remains to be seen. Rhaenys pronounced ( Ray-niece)is awesome, MVP of this episode. With her dragon, Rhaenys was showing Alicent & the others that she had their lives in her hands, yet she chose to spare them because she didn't want to start a war. Great reaction girls.
It's the equivalent of opium. Morphine is a specific compound extracted from opium, but that's obviously not what they're doing, they're just using the latex itself (the opium).
The Aegon naming convention is just inspired by historical royal naming conventions. English throne had a Henry in every generation, and there are only 5-6 names that are recycled throughout 1000 years practically. Same here, there are 5 Aegons in the 300 year history of Targaryens who become king, and there are like 15 Aegons in total. There are also tons of Viserys, Aemon, Rhaenys but Aegon is the most popular by far, especially for the firstborn sons. They also only refer to this story twice, but both are pretty spoilery. Also they are still Rhaenys cousins and family, and murdering all of them when you are not really on any side in the conflict is pretty hardcore
Aegon was 2 and Rhaenyra was like 17, between her and Viserys that was never going to happen. The marriage between Jacaerys and Helaena would've solved everything.
40:03 As you saw in the episode where Rheynera went to the town at night with her uncle, at the play, the people didn't really like her being heir so this reaction of them mekes sense, I think.
@@thatoneblackdude3333 Yea but most people preferred him than Rheanyra. I remember - in the book - when she temporarily got the trhone, both the peasants and nobility didn't like her. A major reason being that it was times of war but Aegon was still showed more love by the civilians
@@rexibhazoboa7097 if that were true she wouldn't have more then half of westaros fighting for her even after she died people didn't like aegon 2, the people only didn't like her because of taxes caused by the greens aegon was nor more liked then rhenerya at all .
@@thatoneblackdude3333 the people loved Helaena and her children and they liked Aegon decently. Her taxes and her mass executions made people dislike Rhaenyra.
Alicent misunderstood although Viserys never said he was speaking of his own child he is speaking of Aegon the Conqueror’s dream of the prince that would unite the realms in winter against the white walkers….does that ring any bells?😉. Viserys was speaking of dreams but it was his own dream (The dream of having a son to name heir) is what he spoke with Alicent about not the Song of Ice and Fire. Rhaenys gave her answer to Alicent letting her know she refused. She didn’t burn them up because of two reasons, one she does not want to be a kin slayer and also it is not her battle.
You were both right at the beginning with Dritmark/Driftwood. Driftmark is the name of the island that House Velaryon rules, and the Driftwood Throne is the actual throne the lord sits on in their castle.
Don't worry about the History, Lore, Names and Family tree. You're all doing great. It is very complicated and nuanced. We've seen the Dragonpit in Game of Thrones, but it wasn't where Margaery died. She died in the Great Sept of Baelor. Which has not been build yet. It would be built by a future Targaryen King. (Instead of your normal, garden-variety Targaryen nutter, he was a religious nutter.) Aegon is a very common name for the Targaryens. They like to use the same prefixes and suffixes over and over again. Rhae-nys and Rhae-nyra, Ae-mon, Dae-mon, Gae-mon. Ae-gon, Ae-rion, Ae-mond. Meleys is one of the older and more powerful Targaryen dragons. Rhaenyra's hand is stronger if she has Rhaenys and Meleys on her side. Alicent hoped that if Rhaenyra did not have Meleys, she would negotiate and not plunge the realm into war. The hanged man was the guy who tried to flee on the horse. The old Lord Commander of the Kingsguard (who has known Rhaenyra since she was a baby,) has disappeared. The twins who serve on the Kingsguard have very different opinions about the new King Aegon, the one who guards him most directly (his sworn shield,) hates him because of what he gets up to. Whilst the other thinks he should be King regardless.
I think you guys have to understand that alicent is duty driven and religious woman who’s been raised that way her entire life by her father and the men around her , she never wanted any of this but she thought it’s her will and duty to do so of course she never truly understood what visery’s was talking about which is the prophecy that has been passed down through generations to targaryen kings until visery’s passed it down to his daughter the heir, alicent was thinking of her son aegon and not rhaenrya’s so all alicent point of view is just trying to do what she think visery’s wanted which we all no it’s bs but she doesn’t want to do it this way by killing rhaenrya to ensure aegons claim to the throne which just goes to show you she still cares for rhaenrya and races her father to see who can manipulate aegon to either not kill rhaenrya or do kill her which clearly Otto was trying to have her killed , i sympathize with alicent to an extent but I get some of her adult actions are no excuse and that goes for the other characters but I feel bad for her since she was thrown into this political mess because of her misogynist father and men around her who doesn’t want to see women rule and was gonna plot to undermine rhaenrya this whole entire time, like I said I blame otto and visery’s for all of this even though visery’s was a decent king but he could’ve done many things to ensure this war shit wouldn’t have happened and if he was a better father to all his kids and alicent she would’ve still supported rhaenrya 100% and there would’ve been no family drama! I love helaena who’s a sweetheart and you can see it on her face when aegon is crowned that this isn’t right and her visions are coming true and maybe she can see this all gonna be one bloody war now smh 🤦🏾♀️ my rhaenys ate in this episode with her dragon meleys even tho flea bottom people got killed in the process yikes!😭💀💗😌🤌🏾❤️
Sam should've watched this series alone.I think she liked it more and definitely picked up on most of the hidden details as well as those that just needed paying attention..no offence to Morgan and Dani who are both great, but this series wasn't for them.Anyway atleast they seemed to really enjoy watching it together
it sucks so much that the writers turned a story about flawed morally grey people into a story about good (Rhaenyra) vs evil (Aegon). The writers chose a side and actively wanted the whole audience to support the side they chose.
I think this has double meaning literal dragon but also her brother and husband Aegon who was beneath everyone and now is on the top because he is king
Otto convinced Alicent that it was an us vs them situation. He told her that the blacks would kill her children to secure their own position, just like Otto tries to do in this episode. Alicent would indeed put Aegon on the throne if it means keeping him and his siblings alive even if it causes a war.
9:00 *Looks Down a Cliffside Contemplating the Fall* For the 4th time in this series of HOTD reactions… It’s RHAENYRA! RAY-NEAR-RA! I’m just baffled that you ladies (lady) cannot pronounce the main character’s name after 8 full episodes. BTW-Aegon is a popular name amongst Targaryens b/c the first Targaryen king (as well as the first across the entire continent) was aptly called ‘Aegon the Conqueror’.
@@shannyd1 He didn't say daughter either even tho he meant it. He mentioned aegon, and which child does he have that bears that name? Oh yes, his firstborn son
Rhaenys is the worst character, so inconsistent and hypocritical.. She blames Alicent for being oppressed in a patriarchy while she herself just goes along with whatever her husband decides.
The last scene is the worst scene in the season. Totally made-for-tv moment. Rhaenys kills hundreds of innocent people just to pose and look cool with her dragon just to fly away. One of the smartest and best characters in the show making a stupid move. Other wise great episode
@@d3l3tes00n 2 things. First, there had to be some other main entry/exit the dragon could leave through. That wouldn't kill anybody and she escapes but there would be no "badass" moment to end the episode. 2nd, if you make the argument that this other exit was locked and the dragon couldn't get through, how does it make sense that they keep dragons in a place where at any moment the dragon could just burst through the the floor and escape? Logically it doesn't make sense. I could forgive the lapse in logic, it's a show with dragons after all, but in addition to that, rhaenys, one of the few truly good characters who hasn't done anything "bad" kills hundreds by doing this. It's sloppy for show that has otherwise told a brilliant story
Otto sent the two Kingsguard brothers, Arryk and Erryk, to find Aegon and bring him to Otto. Otto would not kill Aegon, he wants to control his grandson, not kill him. Otto wanted to keep Aegon out of Alicent's hands because Otto wanted to persuade Aegon to order the Kingsguard to attack Dragonstone and kill Rhaenyra and her family. Alicent sent Ser Criston (joined by Aemond) to find Aegon so he can become king, hopefully under her influence, to prevent Otto from pushing Aegon to kill Rhaenyra.
haha this is hilarious for me, these girls hate ser Cristo but love Daemon who's thousands of times worse only because he's cool. Such a stupid argument, that guy was too dangerous to keep alive so there were two options: Kill him or jail him and criston didn't mean to kill him, it was an accident but fulfilled the purpose.
You seem to forget that Otto is the one that made Alicent Queen. Everything is his plan, put to motion now with the death of Viserys. He did not make her Queen, so she could make all the shots.
I really do enjoy the show The Game of Thrones series different take of what fantasy looks like instead of Lord of the Rings also like Warhammer 40K Darksiders to light-hearted Star Wars.
in the book both sides are flawed and morally grey. on the show Rhaenyra is the 'right' side and Aegon is the 'wrong' and 'evil' side, it sucks that the writers decided to frame it this way.

The season was at a 9 up until this point but this episode brought my score down to 7.5. The whole dying wish paired with selective hearing, Aegon not wanting the throne, and questionable actions were too much to ignore. I totally get your frustrations with this episode as I had them too.
Towards the end that moment where Rhaenys has the ability to end all this nonsense and torch the greens with her dragons but doesnt; she looks specifically into Alicent's eyes. And mother to mother theres a bit of a moment here. Rhaenys has lost her children and her husband and even her husband's brother, as a mother who knows the pain of losing her children/family I believe Rhaenys holds back here for Alicent's sake: not wishing the pain shes suffered through upon any other
The war crimes begin. There are other exits to the dragon pit. So just a reminder, Rhaenys made a deliberate choice to slaughter hundreds of innocents, and didn’t even bother to stop a war.
@@marleymarsss This is the TV show, we are talking about the TV show, so she did do that. If we go off the book, Dameon never killed his wife and Viserys isn’t a good natured weakling.
@Marsymar I get it. The writers took a lot of liberties, made a lot of changes, that were in my opinion, bad ideas, but that doesn’t stop people from praising those bad ideas.
To be fair. Her loyalty is to house velaryon not house Targaryen. Why should she drag her house into war? That’s not her decision to make it’s up to the lord which is corlys. She was forced to kill those innocent people to escape. Those deaths are on the greens hands for usurping the throne and trying to keep her captive. Not a fan of the blacks but you have to admit those deaths would’ve never happened had the greens never tried to hold her captive and usurp the throne
The Queen who never was is Rhaenys, sounds pretty much like RAY NIECE… and it was Lord Caswell who was hanged, not the former Lord Commander Westerling
Both are really unhinged, honestly both greens and blacks are very manipulative and use the king for their own benefit sense his such a weak king, honestly viserys one of the worst kings, wasn’t strong enough to forsake one side, no wonder the 3rd aegon didn’t give f about the high lords, viserys thought to highly of them and trusted them but 3rd aegon didn’t even trust the loyalist to him

I think John snow is aegon the fourth..
The scriptwriters' decision to ruin the coronation of Aegon and insert an absurd piece with Rhaenys and the Dragon... This was not in the original. The coronation of Aegon was solemn and insanely beautiful, in the end he saddled his dragon - the most beautiful in the kingdom. And Criston Cole became the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard when Viserys was alive, because he deserved this title. The writers have chosen their faction and how stupid it looks...
Regarding Rhaenys and Meleys, if you pay really close attention, she was about to say dracarys. For a moment you can see her lips like she'll say 'D'. It was Alicent's motherly love that stopped her, apprently, as Rhaenys knows the sorrow a mother goes through.
I thought the same thing when I watched about his ped thing. I mean the man is a rapist. Then we get told he doesn't come to the normal brothel anymore with a vague reason why, it aint money related right, the implications are fair. Followed by a scene of a child fight club, with child slaves where aegin spends alot of time. No definitive yes or no here, it's interpretation.

I didn't like that they did that everything was misunderstood in the book, Viserys never said that his son should sit on the throne when viserys died alicent i arrange everything for his son to be king and send men to kill rhaenyra in the book alicent he envious and ambitious she just thinks of her differently in the series they keep putting her as a poor thing and a son who doesn't know anything and who does bad things are the others even her father and that's all wrong in the book who is villain and alicent already in the series keeps putting him as a poor thing for me a big mistake in this series and the personalities of what she did with Alicent, Rhaenyra and daemon like that and it is not obliged to be like the book more at least similar to the book in the series there are people who like Alicent I'm like what do you like Alicent i'm sure if people had seen the book before the series they wouldn't be liking this snake Alicent she is a hypocrite remember in the fourth episode when she tells Rhaenyra that the Targaryens have strange customs and now she married her son with her own sister like her and a hypocrite and she She is a terrible mother, even the actress herself says that Alicent is a horrible mother and just to see how he treats his children, look at the scene with Helena and Alicent, when Alicent goes to touch Helena, Helena takes her hand away Alicent just shows that Helena doesn't like her own mother and Olivia who plays Alicent I say that Rhaenyra is a great mother that she gives love to her children unlike Alicent,Only person who deserves sits on the throne and Rhaenyra because she sits on the throne alicent , Aegon or Aemond and only destruction Viserys died with leprosy disease plus Alicent and Otto they were giving too much Poppy milk is a medicine that does good it makes you not feel pain but when you give too much poppy milk it will start to hurt So much so that daemon sniffed the glass because he knows the greens are killing his brother they are helping the king die. I didn't like what they did that the reason for the war was all misunderstood and putting that prophecy thing in the book they don't have that, I didn't like what they did with Alicent it's that thing in the Episode 8 at the end in the scene with viserys and alicent and saying that all this is happening because it's a misunderstanding anyone who read the book knows that it wasn't like that I didn't like it at all, I hope to see the real Alicent from the book in the book he is a horrible person but she is very powerful and is not afraid of anything I really hope to see this Alicent in the second season at least Similar to a book because this alicent from the series My God I think Aegon won't listen to his mother, it's also because she only mistreats him (even though he deserves it because he's shit) but look at the scene between the two when he asks if she loves him there She replies that he's an imbecile even the actress who plays Alicent already said that Alicent is a terrible mother and it was the actress herself who said, I don't think Aegon will listen to her but I know what will happen because I read the book fire and blood but don't worry that I I'm not going to give any spoilers, this woman is shit, she even tried to manipulate Rhaenys in the two scene, you can see that in their conversation, I hope the writers show Alicent for real in the second season a strong woman who doesn't let herself be manipulated and me I want to see Alicent in the book, Alicent in the book, she is a strong person and no one manipulates her, unlike the series that keeps putting it like (but she does these things and because of her father) In the book, Alicent is rotten, it's very different from the series that Alicent is weak because she doesn't speak her opinion and only listens to others and she is also very silly, You said that you thought it was cool Alicent's attention that you didn't want them to kill rhaenyra I'm sorry but there's no way it doesn't happen Alicent is being very silly to believe that because what she's already doing is betrayal is betrayal and death so even if she didn't do "I don't want to kill Rhaenyra", but Rhaenyra has every right to kill her because she is a betrayal and Alicent really thinks that Rhaenyra will accept her brother sitting on the throne if it's her right, for God's sake, she's a Targaryen, the heir to the throne, she'll never accept it's going to be war, and she won't likes to know that her brother, the usurper who stole her throne, is that her father died is that no one said anything about her father's death because Alicent said that no one could talk about viserys's death they hid viserys's death from Everybody, This Everything Is A BETRAYAL Viserys would never place one of his sons he always said the only person he wanted to sit on the throne is Rhaenyra the only daughter of the woman he truly loves the only one, in episode 8 rhaenyra was talking to her father about the prophecy but viserys didn't even answer rhaenyra because he had taken poppy milk after the end of the episode in the scene From Alicent is viserys at that moment Alicent gave him poppy milk again then viserys started talking to Alicent thinking it was Rhaenyra because hours ago rhaenyra went to the his room then he thought it was Rhaenyra he started talking he was talking about Aegon's PROPHECY more like Alicent thought viserys was talking about her son Aegon but viserys wasn't talking about him he was talking about the prophecy ( this is mostly talked about in the Game of Thrones series) but since he was unconscious at the time, he thought it was Rhaenyra he was talking to, Viserys would never put a rapist on the throne, and those people at the beginning of the episode in the meeting they said come on start with our plan now And because they were already planning they were just waiting for the viserys to die, they are all traitors, it doesn't matter because he was already planning behind the king they were already betraying the viserys they were just waiting for this old man to die they just they were waiting for this to happen and now it happened they are just going to continue with their plan And no one will question why they want a man and not a woman and if they question they will die like we saw in the episode, I wish it had shown more more unfortunately it didn't show much more in the book shows The scene of Rhaenys with her dragon at the end of episode 9 does not exist in the book, as well as the scene with viserys is Alicent at the end of episode 8 he talking about the prophecy is Alicent getting it all wrong

Rhaenys, desperate to escape captivity and get her dragon out of her captors' hands. It wasn't Rhaenys who had confined Meleys in the dragonpit and set Aegon's coronation above it. Rhaenys took the only way out available to her; the gates of the dragonpit were guarded. How many people would Meleys have butchered if the Greens had killed Rhaenys and found a new rider, loyal to them, to claim Meleys?
@@gailf1617 We saw a side Exit in the first episode that Rhaenyra landed next to. And saw her dragon led into it Why would there be only one way in anyway? But Alicent going Mama bear put her off it. Being a mother herself having lost a child. Or two, but only one died But the dead smallfolk wouldnt really ever strike her as a concern, ofc.. it wouldnt to the Greens either As much as I favor them Rhaenyra turned me off as a ruler with her dismissal of smallfolk mattering at the play in the brothel ep, and Rhaenys here with casual butchering of the same smallfolk
@@xqzqcv7950 The Kingsguard who freed Rhaenys (I can't remember whether he was Erryk or Arryk) told her that the gate to the Dragonpit was guarded, when Rhaenys told him she wanted to get Meleys. I assume that's the entrance through which the dragonkeepers brought Syrax back into the Dragonpit in the first episode. Rhaenys was under no obligation, in terms of feudal culture, to protect the smallfolk of King's Landing; they were under the authority of House Targaryen; for which, as the Lady of Driftmark and the Lady of House Velaryon, Rhaenys is no longer responsible. Rhaenys does not seem to be a particularly warlike or vicious person; I doubt that she slaughtered smallfolk for kicks or out of rage. I really cannot blame her for wanting to escape what could have been death, if not long imprisonment, even if it meant killing smallfolk to do so. @@gailf1617 Erryk or Arryk just told her that the dragonpit would be too heavily guarded, he didnt say anything about the side entrances that we saw in the first episode. She slaughtered hundreds of innocent people and then looked smug about it instead of showing any sort of regret or reluctance.
@@arobin6695 If I were in Rhaenys' position, I would not stake my life (which would surely be endangered were I to be recaptured) on whether Erryk meant that all of the dragonpit exits were guarded or just the main one; I'd assume that all were guarded (as would be the logical action for Otto to take). As for Rhaenys looking smug about killing hundreds of innocent people; we don't really know whether she was looking smug about terrorizing the people who had held her captive and tried to coerce her support or killing innocent people who had not harmed her. Given that she was looking at Aegon (in whose name she was imprisoned) and his mother and grandfather after Meleys broke out of the pit, I think that Rhaenys was looking smugly at her former captors. As for showing reluctance, there simply wasn't time; Meleys broke through the floor very quickly and explosively and Rhaenys centered all her emotion on Alicent, Aegon and Otto. The biggest plot hole to me was how Rhaenys survived Meleys breaking through that fairly thick floor without her head being bashed in; since Rhaenys wasn't wearing a helmet.

It was infact the guy who first welcomed Rhaenyra back to KL last episode I believe, was wearing the same clothes or similar enough too
Neither duo searching for the prince wanted to kill the prince.
This has to have the most incorrect speculations in one video I've ever seen.

(Instead of your normal, garden-variety Targaryen nutter, he was a religious nutter.)
Aegon is a very common name for the Targaryens.
Regarding Rhaenys and Meleys, if you pay really close attention, she was about to say dracarys. For a moment you can see her lips like she'll say 'D'. It was Alicent's motherly love that stopped her, apprently, as Rhaenys knows the sorrow a mother goes through.
@Bottlife 240 They'll be better off than under Aegon's rule lol
@Bottlife 240 they became statistics
@bottlife2407 spoilers
The house burning was the spymaster lady being killed off we assume
Aegons not a pedo idk what they are thinking
I thought the same thing when I watched about his ped thing. I mean the man is a rapist. Then we get told he doesn't come to the normal brothel anymore with a vague reason why, it aint money related right, the implications are fair. Followed by a scene of a child fight club, with child slaves where aegin spends alot of time. No definitive yes or no here, it's interpretation.
I think Rhaneys was this close to torching them all. Like a hairsbreadth
15:51 Y'all, I was hollering at the screen with you guys. Criston wishes he had that level of honor...grrr...I'm so mad.
You know what? this episode with the whole "calm before the storm" thing reminded me of the episode in GOT Margery was killed...same vibes right?
Same vibes completely! -Sam
I didn't like that they did that everything was misunderstood in the book, Viserys never said that his son should sit on the throne when viserys died alicent i arrange everything for his son to be king and send men to kill rhaenyra in the book alicent he envious and ambitious she just thinks of her differently in the series they keep putting her as a poor thing and a son who doesn't know anything and who does bad things are the others even her father and that's all wrong in the book who is villain and alicent already in the series keeps putting him as a poor thing for me a big mistake in this series and the personalities of what she did with Alicent, Rhaenyra and daemon like that and it is not obliged to be like the book more at least similar to the book in the series there are people who like Alicent I'm like what do you like Alicent i'm sure if people had seen the book before the series they wouldn't be liking this snake
Alicent she is a hypocrite remember in the fourth episode when she tells Rhaenyra that the Targaryens have strange customs and now she married her son with her own sister like her and a hypocrite and she
She is a terrible mother, even the actress herself says that Alicent is a horrible mother and just to see how he treats his children, look at the scene with Helena and Alicent, when Alicent goes to touch Helena, Helena takes her hand away Alicent just shows that Helena doesn't like her own mother and Olivia who plays Alicent I say that Rhaenyra is a great mother that she gives love to her children unlike Alicent,Only person who deserves sits on the throne and Rhaenyra because she sits on the throne alicent , Aegon or Aemond and only destruction
Viserys died with leprosy disease plus Alicent and Otto they were giving too much Poppy milk is a medicine that does good it makes you not feel pain but when you give too much poppy milk it will start to hurt So much so that daemon sniffed the glass because he knows the greens are killing his brother they are helping the king die.
I didn't like what they did that the reason for the war was all misunderstood and putting that prophecy thing in the book they don't have that, I didn't like what they did with Alicent it's that thing in the Episode 8 at the end in the scene with viserys and alicent and saying that all this is happening because it's a misunderstanding anyone who read the book knows that it wasn't like that I didn't like it at all, I hope to see the real Alicent from the book in the book he is a horrible person but she is very powerful and is not afraid of anything I really hope to see this Alicent in the second season at least Similar to a book because this alicent from the series My God
I think Aegon won't listen to his mother, it's also because she only mistreats him (even though he deserves it because he's shit) but look at the scene between the two when he asks if she loves him there She replies that he's an imbecile even the actress who plays Alicent already said that Alicent is a terrible mother and it was the actress herself who said, I don't think Aegon will listen to her but I know what will happen because I read the book fire and blood but don't worry that I I'm not going to give any spoilers, this woman is shit, she even tried to manipulate Rhaenys in the two scene, you can see that in their conversation, I hope the writers show Alicent for real in the second season a strong woman who doesn't let herself be manipulated and me I want to see Alicent in the book, Alicent in the book, she is a strong person and no one manipulates her, unlike the series that keeps putting it like (but she does these things and because of her father) In the book, Alicent is rotten, it's very different from the series that Alicent is weak because she doesn't speak her opinion and only listens to others and she is also very silly, You said that you thought it was cool Alicent's attention that you didn't want them to kill rhaenyra I'm sorry but there's no way it doesn't happen Alicent is being very silly to believe that because what she's already doing is betrayal is betrayal and death so even if she didn't do "I don't want to kill Rhaenyra", but Rhaenyra has every right to kill her because she is a betrayal and Alicent really thinks that Rhaenyra will accept her brother sitting on the throne if it's her right, for God's sake, she's a Targaryen, the heir to the throne, she'll never accept it's going to be war, and she won't likes to know that her brother, the usurper who stole her throne, is that her father died is that no one said anything about her father's death because Alicent said that no one could talk about viserys's death they hid viserys's death from Everybody, This Everything Is A BETRAYAL
Viserys would never place one of his sons he always said the only person he wanted to sit on the throne is Rhaenyra the only daughter of the woman he truly loves the only one, in episode 8 rhaenyra was talking to her father about the prophecy but viserys didn't even answer rhaenyra because he had taken poppy milk after the end of the episode in the scene From Alicent is viserys at that moment Alicent gave him poppy milk again then viserys started talking to Alicent thinking it was Rhaenyra because hours ago rhaenyra went to the his room then he thought it was Rhaenyra he started talking he was talking about Aegon's PROPHECY more like Alicent thought viserys was talking about her son Aegon but viserys wasn't talking about him he was talking about the prophecy ( this is mostly talked about in the Game of Thrones series) but since he was unconscious at the time, he thought it was Rhaenyra he was talking to, Viserys would never put a rapist on the throne, and those people at the beginning of the episode in the meeting they said come on start with our plan now And because they were already planning they were just waiting for the viserys to die, they are all traitors, it doesn't matter because he was already planning behind the king they were already betraying the viserys they were just waiting for this old man to die they just they were waiting for this to happen and now it happened they are just going to continue with their plan And no one will question why they want a man and not a woman and if they question they will die like we saw in the episode, I wish it had shown more more unfortunately it didn't show much more in the book shows
The scene of Rhaenys with her dragon at the end of episode 9 does not exist in the book, as well as the scene with viserys is Alicent at the end of episode 8 he talking about the prophecy is Alicent getting it all wrong
😍Dani🥰we caught a opp lacking yesterday, but he had his daughter with him so I let him slide. I thought about what you said in one of these videos.”Just because you’re tough, doesn’t mean you can’t still have a heart” You saved someone’s life in Chicago all the way from Florida.
Yall need to watch game of thrones after this for sure
Lmao. You ladies loved sir criston so it's hilarious now to see the turn.
I knew he wasn't going to be right from the start.
I also said before in a previous comment that Alicent would have to pay Larys back for his loyalty somehow lol.
And the scene where she breaks into the throne room with the dragon reminded me of Shrek.
OMG... the recap in the first 7mins is priceless! Welcome to the family tree everyone!
The sister has been spoiling the whole show xD: " There's a beast beneath the board. Aka Rynaera's dragon appearing from below.
King Viserys daughter is called Rhaenyra. Her aunt is called Rhaenys. It hurt me to see you guys pronounce them like that but i understand its very confusing lol
worst episode of the season for sure, they ignore all the actual reasons for why they named Aegon king and make him as evil and unlikeable as possible
Rhaenys, the butcherer of smallfolk.
And saw her dragon led into it
Why would there be only one way in anyway?
Rhaenys specifically took the path that lead to the death of hundreds of smallfolk, because all in all. Like to nobles as a whole, their lives dont matter to her
But also ofcourse, she did it to send a message and as has been said by the creators.. she did actually intend to kill the Greens there. But Alicent going Mama bear put her off it. Being a mother herself having lost a child. Or two, but only one died
But the dead smallfolk wouldnt really ever strike her as a concern, ofc.. it wouldnt to the Greens either
As much as I favor them
Rhaenyra turned me off as a ruler with her dismissal of smallfolk mattering at the play in the brothel ep, and Rhaenys here with casual butchering of the same smallfolk
I might have done the same thing if I had been in her place, though I would not have been happy about it.
The biggest plot hole to me was how Rhaenys survived Meleys breaking through that fairly thick floor without her head being bashed in; since Rhaenys wasn't wearing a helmet.
damn, i have a crush on morgan lol
