Sylvia, I just came over from "Cruising with Wheels" using your link and I'm crying watching the joy and happiness on your face. I can't believe it's taken so long for cruise industry to address the tendering difficulties for folks in wheelchairs getting on from ship and getting off on shore. I hope the ports address this shortcoming as well. They are missing out on a lot of tourism income. Perhaps this is an opportunity for independent handicap waterway transportation vehicles and docking systems. Where the tender can physically "lock" to the ship/dock to stabilize loading and unloading....maybe there could be springs under the ramp which absorbs the movement of the boat or something like that. Maybe you can discuss with the Magic Carpet designer. Celebrity could have a spin-off business that would service all cruise lines. 😀😀😀. It's worth a shot.

Thanks for your great videos which will help my disabled husband and I when we get on the newly being built sister ship to Celebrity Edge "Apex" in 2020...sailing from the UK. I had asked another regular vlogger TA on CZcams regarding tendering and was basically told to "ask Celebrity" obviously this US TA isn't interested in capturing potential disabled cruisers. Your videos have helped no end.

SOOO great to see a real demo of the Edge for tendering HC passengers. We're going on Apex next year and I was praying my husband could finally tender on his scooter!!

I admire you Sylvia I was nervous for you crossing the ramp to the boat. I to use a wheelchair for Mobility and can't stand at all. I'm going to grow up to be just like you;)

Did they let you use it with your scooter or did you need to walk off?

Hi Sylvia. Thank you for this video. While I have never been able to tender with my scooter, my recollection is that in most tenders there is a step down to the seats. Is that because they were lifeboats instead of commercial tenders? It seems like the magic carpet solves one part of the equation but you could still have physical tender setup issues and destination unloading issues.
If I felt like I could tender through to Santorini or Mykonos I would pay the extra for these ships. What sayest thou?

On the edge now and they’re saying no can do. We tender in a couple days. Any advice? I can’t take a step and in a power chair

What is it like transferring from tender boat to port and visa versa?
