THE FINAL DECISION ON POCHETTINO

  • My final decision on Mauricio Pochettino. Chelsea are expected to soon make a decision on the future of manager Mauricio Pochettino. Chelsea won their last five Premier League games of the 23/24 season to secure a top 6 finish in the Premier League. Chelsea need stability, and the stories of us being linked to more YOUNG managers seems to me like a pointless step in the wrong direction with the clear progress Chelsea have made in recent months.

Have you ever heard on planet logic a manager being sacked/or walking after just winning 6 games in a row and securing double last year's league position and scoring around 100 goals, around double what we did last season too. Lots of improvements this year and the trajectory was on the up. Now we start from zero again and all the work with the players will be undone for some new dudes philosophy...total lunacy of only the completely senseless would do this. They're gonna lose a lot of the support soon....

He's just saying he thinks Poch is doing good RIGHT NOW. He's not signing a contract to always support him for the future. If hypothetically these last few games were just flukes, and it turns out Poch really was the issue (I'm not saying if he is or isn't, it's just a hypothetical) obviously we should demand his removal. It's not a bad thing to change your view on someone based on their results, especially because a manager's win rates should be trending up the more settled they are with their squad.

I saw a crazy stat saying the year we won the champions league, the injury crisis/impact was way worse than this season!!! Who knew🤣🤣. I still believe the issue is with the medical department though. B. badiashile, Wesley Fofana, R. Sterling and Ben Chilwel need to be sold.
ChelseaFC can use Broja + Lukaku + cash to get Victor Osihmen from Napoli.
Tosin A. is a free agent (central defender from Fulham) can be persuaded to come to Chelsea to replace the beast (Thiago Silva) at the back.

I was never Poch out this season even after the worst of results, and after the form we finished on I think it would be a huge mistake. I think we need some stability, and if we let him go I think it’ll mentally exhaust the players switching to a new manager and having to learn a 3rd/4th system so soon depending on when each player got here, it’ll feel like any progress made will be lost and we’ll be starting from scratch again. I also think sacking a 3rd manager so soon since the new ownership came in will look really unappealing to new candidates especially considering we were finally starting to build something and in spite of such an injury crisis, managers will feel like they’re getting pushed out the door before the even walk in it. Definitely don’t want someone like McKenna because I think the jump from the Championship to the PL is bigger than League 1 to the Championship, I don’t think Amorim’s back 3 is great for this squad in this league, Tuchel didn’t do anything at Bayern to make us sacking him seem like a colossal mistake, and I think Mourinho is only wanted based on nostalgia and he’s had success working with veteran heavy squads as opposed to developing a lot of young players. Keep this project manager who has a track record developing young players, and for the love of god listen to him in the transfer window

Even as we are waving goodbye to Gallagher and Chalobah, they have just decided to splurge £56m on a 17 year old "wonderkid" we don't need. Another Graham Potter season coming up.)

Pochettino has proved that he can do it. The reason why we had a an initial bad season run was due to inexperience in striking, midfield and defense. We would take leads in matches for over 1/3 of a game only for our players to give in to opposition pressure and concede goals denying us the three points. A new coach is going to dismantle every aspect of the progress we have had, the coach has to learn how our players play, they strengths and lots more. Pochettino has potentially secured us Europa league football, that will give our young players the opportunity to play in formidable away grounds that would improve their ability and overall experience. Conclusion: let the gaffer reap what he sowed.

If we can just get three experiance players that would be massive for this young team and I know Poch also want players with exp because he said it last transfer window.

The injuries are not happening on the training pitch. When you have muscle injuries of a certain type, especially coming off of a different type of injury where you might be overcompensating, The root cause of the injury in the muscle or in Tendon attachment is usually caused by improper rehabilitation. The medical staff and training staff Have something in their program that is off, whether it be allowing the players to overcompensate while coming back too soon, whether it’s the treatment itself, whether it’s not a correct amount of stretching, something is wrong in the build up process. The way you know this for sure is that many of the injuries we had were re-injuries, and they were re-injuries that were in predictable places, compared to the original Injury if the program to get them back on track were faulty

The one i noticed all season and this happens to City every year is that individuals and management if given time will improve. Every single player and also Poch got better as time went on. Thats something us fans lacked and it was patience and trust in the team. Everything was crumbling but a new team riddled with injuries was making deep runs and got european football, for me that’s signs of great things that await in the future if we are patient. I dont know how many comments i left backing Pochettino, Enzo, Sterling, conor and Jackson all season, we can’t fixate on the negative aspect of players and managers all the time and ignore the good things.

Look at it like this. If we sack Poch and go for a manager with a better track record of winning titles, we’ll either be charging for the title next season or we’ll flop badly due to the sacking.
If we stick with Poch, we most likely won’t be going for titles next season - but we would’ve grown as a team and certainly have a world-class squad for 2025/26.
So do we go with titles or nothing now? …or focus more on the long term success of the club?

Chelsea has traditionally been a team that focuses on counter-attacking and prioritizes defense. Changing tactics, particularly when it involves structural and playstyle alterations, is challenging. Managers like Sarri, Tuchel, Potter, and Lampard have not succeeded in this regard. Implementing such significant changes in playing style requires time. Look at where Chelsea was last season and compare it to this season. The more you talk the more stupid you sound.
I'm referring to the playing style that Sarri, Tuchel, Potter, and Lampard significantly struggled with. Unlike Pochettino, who persisted in implementing his style on the team, Sarri and Tuchel had to revert to a counter-attacking style simply to achieve results.

Yeah, Poch wasn't perfect, but taking into account this unseen injury hell that was thrown at us this season and that this squad really starts to look like a team and not a collection of mercenaries for the first time under Clearlake would be enough for any sensible person to at least give Poch another year. But no, there are still megabrains who think that getting fooken Tuchel would be a brilliant idea. I can't man, these lot are done, I can't believe people want to watch Tuchel static buildup again. Is able to break the backline of defences with killer through balls and his shooting abilities are far superior.

My decision is that the club should find another capable manager

Absolute shambles since Abramovich left! 6 managers in two years, Millions spent on the wrong sort of players, wholesale sackings of experienced medical team, groundsman, Office Staff and Boardroom Members leaving have left the club a laughing stock and a shadow of its formers self - Jackson, Sterling, Sanchez, Sarr, Chukwuemeka, Ugochukwu, Cucurella, Ziyech, Chalobah, and Lukaku, all need to exit the club! Build the team around Palmer, Nkunku, Caicedo, Maatson, Santos, Fernandez, James, Gusto, Gallagher and Mudryk. Loan out Lavia, Gilchrist, Casadei, Washington, Richard’s, Moreira etc. Bring in Experiance - Emiliano Martinez as No Keeper, Victor Osimhen, Fabian Scharr and Jao Palhinha and then bring in Ruben Amorin but then put John Terry as his no 2, Carlo Cudicini as Goal Keeping Coach, bring in Wise, Ballack, Drogba as Ambassadors for the club. Clearlake Capital need to take a back seat and bring in an experienced Premiership Chairman/Woman and then work on bringing in the right medical team to try and curb the injuries that are hitting the squad. Maybe convert James to a Right Winger with Gusto behind and Gilchrist as back up.

  • @Allrounderz04

What alot of people forget to mention in their analysis is
    1. Chelsea first 10 games were actually good performance wise but they just couldn't score. Poor finishing it bad luck.. All the chance created etc.. There were stats showing that if they converted more they would be 3rd or 4th..
So not so much a Poch issue
    2. Chelsea's record against the top 8 teams all season.. Asside from the arsenal and Newcastle trashing we almost matched or beat every team above us. this season and this has been the biggest difference.
We mostly struggled against so called lesser teams but when you look at it it was more a mentality problem than a system issue.. Teams lack of maturity showed as they lost shape and concentration after being in front countless times..
And that's what cost us games.
And yes Poch in game management and inability to inspire at half time or find solutions was frustrating but people seem to forget what actually happened.
doing well against teams above us saved our season and in doing so Poch proved that he's actually able to compete at this level but only with the right mentality and consistency
Consistency can only be achieved with experience. You can't force it or coach it into people. The team had to learn
And they eventually did.. Arsenal was a slap in the face. They saw what a real team can do and started acting like one
