In general I'm VERY optimistic for this music year.
1. 'TFK' had a little "comeback".
2. 'You me at Six' brought their 8th album "Truth Decay".
3. 'Skillet' came around with a deluxe version of "Dominion".
4. "Rated-R" by 'Red' has an first impression for looking that juicy, I'm still missing a bit in this music year.
⭐5. My favorite band 'Ashes Remain' is much more active on their social medias. Even if I only have the CZcams app, I follow in the browser search for their entries of other apps. Josh Smith even announced a new album for this year, even not when.
PS:
1. I don't count 'Breaking Benjamin' for the first list because I expect their next releases in 2024.
2. It would be VERY hype if you would try a review to the 'Ashes Remain' album "What I've Become" (their "Behind the scenes What I've Become" interview is a much more trustful source than Wikipedia). Maybe you would like some of it.
so heavy and amazing!!
Sounds good!!
I am already more excited for this New RED album than I am the re-imagined album TFK is coming out with.
I would agree if reds last album was better. I personally didn’t like it overall at all. Same with this song it’s meh too me. I hope the rest of the album is better
Sounds so sick, very heavy, sick chorus and weird but cool electronic. can't wait for the full album!!!
Glad you are enjoying it so much!
I love SO much Red ❤
This album was great in hindsight
Top 5 Red album for me, with Your Devil Is A Ghost, Cold World, Emergency, Our Time Will Come, and Last Forever being the true standouts🤟
Surrogates is good, but freaking Cold World and Minus It All are kinda blow your mind. Please check it out when you have the chance, those two play so well on RED's strengths.
I really enjoyed it. Great album introduction track. Quick and to the point lyrics. Great production value. I dont expect them to show their full hand on the first track
It definitely takes a few listens to grow. But once it does, it's addicting, love the Release The Panic elements (underrated album).
Amazing track
I actually hate that album, it's the only one I don't like though 😂 No hate for them or you though, just thought that was funny
Now I know the meaning of Rated R, this is the heaviest song I heard so far
It is pretty dang heavy for Red!
@@RockingWithRobby The whole album must be heavy
@cesarvillalobos8632 I'm hoping so. To me their last album was on the heavier side.
It’s a good mix of the synth rock vibe of Gone with the raw heaviness off Declaration.
This song sounded like a blend of what Red has done throughout their careers while still trying new ground with harsher and more aggressive vocal work. Not as much string instrumentation as I would like, but they have said that there will be more of that on the album. A solid first single!
I'm enjoying it more and more. I enjoy the fact that they can hit us with a heavy sound, then come back with a beautiful melodic gem.
Personally I love this song. One of my favorites from RED. I've always favored their heaviest songs and this is the sort of evolution I wanted to see.
The intro will get really enjoying with the sound effects and the tinnitus sounding “ring”. I feel like artists sometimes forget that the song will get listened to many times (ideally when’s it’s good). For me overall the track is solid. Nothing amazing, nothing bad. Great review, Robby!
In retrospect, I feel like Rated R is what Release the Panic should have been.
Other songs on the album are reminiscent of Of Beauty and Rage 😊
❤
Release the Panic wasn’t as Nu metal as this song is but it definitely has the aggressiveness and electronics of that era
As a first single, it's pretty amazing, we are nearly 1 month until the whole album drops, but I personally love the song from start to finish, reminds me to RTP and The Evening Hate, more strings are coming soon on this album, personally, 8/10 🔥🤩
Hooked from the get go, absolutely soaring aggressiveness in the vocals, Michael is still killing it and from start to finish I was engaged, sure strings would be nice but not every song needs it they will have a ballad or 2 with strings in it for the album surely. 8/10
definitely agree. its giving me release the panic vibes. not that i mind that. (though beauty and rage is my fave album.) I'm just a sucker for some of those more orchestral tracks with the deep emotion, you know? Then again, i loved declaration, because the heavier stuff in the beginning of that album is AWESOME.
overall, i agree, it feels kind of short. But for the first single for their album, i like it. great chorus, that heavy riff/breakdown is IMMACULATE, i love the heavy stuff. they still sound great, which is wild, cuz that's a long time to be doing harsh vocals (they've been a band forever), but the vocals still sound so clean, even the screams, they're well defined. and i'm definitely curious for what the rest of the album has to offer
Yasss I’ve been waiting for this it’s a good song I gave it a 3/5 that’s my opinion.
I love the riff and the pre-chorus and the chorus, my only real complaint is the verses both felt very weak and the censor sound in the intro went on a few seconds longer than I would like. Very intrigued for the rest of this record
That breakdown had me shook. 😂 I dig the track! Main highlights being the breakdown and chorus! Is someone else doing the screaming aside from Michael?
Side note, if Breaking Benjamin had breakdown like that i would melt.
We literally have the exact same opinion on this song lol😂 Yeah it feels like Release The Panic a lot, that was my least favorite red album but I like this sound for this track a lot more than a lot of the album. It was pretty solid but yeah it did feel reallyyyyy short. Awesome reaction as always! You’re the best!😀
Same the chorus was weird, but the rest of the song was very good. Hopefully, the rest has a more regular song structure
Yeah I hope there are some stronger hooks on some of the future songs!
@RockingWithRobby yeah not that it was bad, but I think bands first singles typically aren't the strongest tracks on each records.
Feels like it could grow on me. Right now I like it but it’s not amazing amazing. First chorus being more muted I do like though. I do think I’ll like this one more with time, it has the vibe of a grower, just is a weird first single.
This is the closest Red has ever sounded to Linkin Park. I love both bands, and I think this a really good song, although (like others have said) I don't think it's going to dethrone any of my all time favorites.
Last thing I wanted to mention, the recording of this song feels miles better than just about anything on Declaration, so maybe they've honed their skills at self producing better on this new album.
Already Over sounded more like linkin park
It's perfectly fine. Been waiting for new RED music for so long now though, that I think my expectations are too high for its own good
It is just.....fine.
any updates on the sleep token review
Yes, I’m going on a trip on the 9th and I’ll have it up for you guys right around then so you have something to watch while I’m gone!
Hey there, you still alive?
I definitely see what you mean when you say it reminds you of RTP. I think it’s a mix of that and something you would hear on Declaration. Overall, a good song, but in my opinion, not great.
Its a pretty good song, not my favourite track but solid nonetheless.
Honestly I'm let down by it. I was expecting more. Hated the intro. Until We Have Faces was their best album in my opinion besides their first.
First 20-30 seconds is awful... Worst intro to a song I've probably ever heard with that 5 second long beep being EXTREMELY annoying when you wanna listen to this song LOUD
Other than that I honestly really like this song and I feel it's a mix between the tracks feed the machine and release the panic
I’ve been very disappointed by Red as of late. The dropped “The war we made” which is an absolutely stunning song and got me hyped for Declaration but when the rest of it came out I was so disappointed. It wasn’t terrible but very average for them imo. That’s exactly how a feel about this song. It’s average and unless there’s nothing better on the album i definitely don’t think this was a good song to develop hype.
Its not an addictive song, feel like average
That’s fair! I can see why you feel that way.
Hate the damn censored beep.
I really don’t like the new song I think it is to heavy for me
Meh it’s all over the place
