- Full Time RV Living takes us to New Orleans.
In this video we visit New Orleans and stay at the Bayou Segnette State Park. The State Park is located in Westwego, LA just 12 miles from downtown New Orleans. We try beignets for the first time at the Cafe Du Monde and, what is a muffuletta? A crazy fun time!
We are Chris & Katrina embarking on our new full-time journey. A journey that will take us from one coast to the other. And stopping at various places along the way. Exploring new site and meeting new friends.

Yâall crack me up! Enjoy your videos ! Thanks so much for not acting like other rv you tubers constantly trying to plug this or that and just giving us great content. I learn a lot from yâall â€
Our pleasure! We so appreciate you watching us act silly at times. Take care and enjoy your travels! đ
@@oureverydaygetaway I love the silly! Yâall remind me of my hubby and I! :) Thank you ! Yâall as well! Happy Travels :)
That State park looked so nice & looked like you had a good time. Katrina outranks the Captain of the RV as she is Queen & tells the Captain what to do! đ Great video & Joel wants one of those sandwiches now! Joel, Deb & đ Maya
You are right on about the Queen out ranking the Captain! đ Chris just found a place in Tampa that makes them. Looking forward to warmer temperatures but sad to be leaving the grand babies.
@@oureverydaygetaway Can't wait to see you guys but it would be hard to leave those adorable grandbabies! Joel is info the Muffaletta!
You guys crack me up! Thank you for sharing your travels and opinions. Very Helpful. My husband and I have future plans to hit the road again fulltime. (we traveled with our kids full time years ago)
I hope to meet you one day! Do y'all have long term travel goals? Or will you take it one year at a time? Take care and safe travels!!
Congratulations on making the decision to get back on the road full time. We plan our trips one year at a time. Will be at the Tampa RV show in a few weeks if your in the area. Take care and have a happy and healthy 2023!
The Sound of a Sax playing just chills me the Hell out. Another Great Vlog thank you both and Tucker the Good Boy.. :) peace be the journey.
The live local music in the area made the trip. Thanks Ade! Happy New Year!
We full time in a class c! We love watching other rvers to see how to maintain this or fix that. But We watch you two just for your personalities with each other we laugh and laugh! đ no matter what you title the video we know weâre going to enjoy it !
Thank you so much! As we get more experience and learn how to do more on our own rig we will make a few of those kinds of videos. Life is short and we're just trying to enjoy it while we can. Take care and have a wonderful 20203!! đ
We look forward to any videos you make for sure.
Great video, guys! New Orleans is such a great city to visit! Haha Katrina, Iâm with youâŠlove shopping at Cracker Barrel!
Thank you! The more and more I get to know you I think we're sisters from another Mother! đ Your new logo looks Great! Can't wait to see what's coming up next for you two!
@@oureverydaygetaway I agree! Soul sisters! â€ïž and thank youâŠKen did that! âșïž See yâall soon!
Great video both loved the music and senic views. As always you made me want to go visit. Food looked great we both love CB. Safe travels to you both.
You can't beat the live street music while in LA. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Hopefully we'll bump into y'all while in FL this winter. Safe travels and have a happy and healthy 2023! By the way we really enjoy watching the two of you! đ€
You guys are so down to earth another great video the state park campground looks very nice. Also, the places you visit in the city were awesome also safe travels to Florida like always. Iâll be watching for more videos from you guys.
That's probably one of the nicest compliments you could give us. Thank you. Just being ourselves sharing our life on the road. Take care and hoping to connect with you on the road someday.
Thanks!
Wow, you didn't have to do that but thank you so very much! We really appreciate everyone who watches and leaves comments on our channel. Wishing you a safe, healthy and happy new year!
Thanks guys! Really enjoyed!
Glad you enjoyed it! Take care and thanks for watching!
A Muffuletta sandwich, New Orleans jazz, and 80âs waka-waka music, whatâs not to like? đđșđ»
You got that right! Take care and safe travels!
New Orleans is such a neat city. Can't wait to go back someday. We enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching! We're not bug city people but that being said we had a great time. Safe travels and enjoy your journey. đ
Another good video. Thanks for that!
Glad you enjoyed it! Wishing you a happy and healthy 2023!
New Orleans is awesome! Worked there off and on for 5 years after Katrina repairing the historical buildings. Never realized how important that city is to American History. The battle for New Orleans during the war of 1812 was something else. Was a blood bath on the British side. Hopefully you got to check some of that out. Like that park, We don't fit in there but there is another north of the city that we do
That surprises us that you couldn't fit into that park. There are a lot of oversized spaces. How large is your rig?
@@oureverydaygetaway 45'(Prevost) with a 28' stacker. Stacker is a trailer with a lift. We carry 2 utv's and the wife's car. There was no overflow lot for the trailer, the other park is a coe (Army Corps of Engineers). Has electrical at the lot only. no water or sewer and a over low lot. Its Liberty coach 891 if you want to see it, Frank let Andrew Steele video it before we picked it up
Nice!!! That's Chris's biggest fear not fitting into a spot. Wait until I tell him how long your coach w/trailer is. Traveling in style with your toys. Love it! Take care guys.
awesome video again guys. looks warm there. stay safe and we look for cracker barrel as well when its late in the day.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it! Cracker Barrel's are the best for late day stops. Take care and happy new year!
Boy, that Beignet looked delicious đ
It was so good! Would have loved more but my cholesterol levels said don't do it! Take care and safe travels. đ
Thanks for sharing!! I love the Sculpture Garden in City Park and its an easy trolley ride up Canal Street to visit if you are in the Quarter. Chris the Central Grocery and Deli sells Muffuletta's as well as the Olive Tapenade and will ship to you anywhere in the US!!
The Sculpture Garden in City Park was a hidden gem. We just happened to stumble upon it and ended up being one of our favorite parts of our trip to New Orleans. Chris may just have to have one shipped to his Dad back home in MD. Thanks for the great information. Take care and enjoy your travels. đ
Another great video guys! :o)
Thank you đ€ and thanks so very much for watching!
Great video! Love your adventures... We have not had to stop at a Cracker Barrel yet on our travels. Appreciate the tips đđŸ
Thank you! I would bet good money if you stop at one you won't be disappointed. Take care and safe travels guys!
Also, if you need to dump or get water Cabela's is a perfect place to stop. They charge $10 to dump or get water, but if you buy something there, it is free.
We stayed at on two years ago and they had everything you've mentioned. The only problem was a couple truckers took up the RV spaces. No worries, we just needed to sleep not dump or get water.
Fun video thanks for sharing your travels love all the live music đ¶ need to get down there soon. Thanks From Wisconsin
For us the music was the best part of our trip to New Orleans. Take care Wisconsin!

Fun video to watch this evening. You guys are great!!! There is a sandwich shop here by me that makes the mufalata sandwich. They are really good!! We have our first big trip in my new 22 mid April in Florida for a rally. Keep up the food work. .
Thank you! Congratulations on your first big trip! Take care and enjoy your travel journey. đ
It sounds like Chris needs a captain's hat. Lol. New Orleans is definitely a fun place. Great video. Lynn and Danny đ
I will not be telling him that! đ Much fun but I think we're one and done with New Orleans. Take care guys.
@@oureverydaygetaway Don't blame you.
Great video! We've only been to New Orleans to leave on a cruise ship once. We would love to take the camper and see the sights. Looks like a great spot.
"Bugs On The Windshield" LOVE it!! We enjoyed ourselves but not sure we would go back. If you get a chance to go the state park was quiet, safe and well laid out. Take care and have a wonderful new year!
We enjoyed our stop in New Orleans as well but we were there so early in the day that nothing was really going on. I got to think that the night scene is probably a little too much for my older version. Enjoyed it many years ago when we went down with a group of co-workers for a conference though.
It's really not that bad in the evening as long as you stay on Burgeon Street. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment. Take care and enjoy your journey. đ
We like to stay at Cracker Barrel over Wal-Mart. We don't have a tow so we don't have to worry about that part. Cool. Looks like a faily nice state park for Louisiana. Honestly, LA is not known for the greatest camping areas. Bourbon Street is awesome, but it gets crazier the further in you get. So fun. đ.Love the music. Beignets are so good. Can honestly said I've never had a Muffaletta. I've never thought of that as italian. You are the italian meatballđđ.
It was our first time camping in LA. We did have a nice time just not sure if we would go back anytime soon. The music there is Amazing! He is a meatball! Take care guys!
Looks like we are right behind you a couple of weeks, stayed at St. Bernard State Park outside of New Orleans, in Gulf State Park now and headed to Top Sail tomorrow. The beignets are to die for and also had grilled oysters at Dragos. yummm So much for that New Years resolution to loose a few lbs.
If your travels take you to Tampa for the RV show or the Orlando area this winter give us a shout out and we'll try to connect. Grilled oysters now that sounds like some good stuff! New Years resolution... What does that exactly entail?? đ€Ł Be safe and take care.
Enjoyed the video. BTW it's "New Or Lins " đ
Thank you! Got It! LOL
You two crack me up đ đ
đđ
Wow, doesnt look like too busy. Everytime we have gone its crowded. Stay out of the side streets there at night!
We went early and left around 7pm. It was a little sketchy in certain areas for sure. Take care and enjoy your travels! đ
Ooooo I didnât know it was called cracker docking where have I been ?? đ we love New Orleans We went To Louisiana twice last year ! Weâre going To Louisiana for the Boudin Festival in March . Nice Campground ! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun glad you finally got to try the beignets.great video guys it was so great we got to meet you guys in person and hang out in Tampa .
Cracker docking is our favorite overnight stay! New Orleans was just okay for us but maybe if we went with another couple we'd have a better time. Take care and safe travels guys!
Hi Guys! Believe it or not, I have never been to a Cracker Barrel! But I imagine I will be staying there a few times during my travels this spring/summer. I am a part-timer in Maryland so my RV is already winterized. Question for you: What is your favorites/go-to foods at Cracker Barrel??? And Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your family!
OMG, you have to go! We've only had good experiences at Cracker Barrels. We like the Broccoli cheddar chicken (Wednesdays only) and the roast beef dinner. Forgot to mention the fired chicken is also good. Happy new year to you as well!
Wow, such an awesome video my friend! Greetings from AustriađŠđčđđ»

Cracker docking đ thats one I havenât heard of but weâve done it many times!
We had to Cracker Dock last night for a couple hours on our way from MD to FL in our jeep. Now that was interesting!đ Take care and have a wonder 2023!
You guys are awesome - we are located in western MD - are you coming up the east coast anytime soon we would love to meet up and possibly share some cocktails & swap stories with you guys sometime. Thanks for just being you.
Yes, we will be returning to MD this summer for a month or two. Give us a shout out in July sometime and we'll find a way to connect with. Take care and Happy 2023!
Hah, we just stayed across the lake from you at Fairview-Riverside State Park. It was nice, but not as nice as Bayou Segnette.
Another park we haven't heard of. Will have to look it up. Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year! đ
Enjoyed the video. Would like to go to New Orleans, but concern with crime down there. The out of the way places are what we like. Getting your beignet at a less crowed place looked wonderful. How far away did you have to park when you were in New Orleans?
Don't think we'd go back to New Orleans unless we were with a group of people. City park was a wonderful surprise. Beautiful area to walk and explore. We parked only a few blocks away from Bourbon Street so it wasn't that bad. Take care and enjoy your travels in 2023.
Interesting video... How long would you suggest spending in New Orleans. I am thinking 3 full days. Would you argee or would you suggest longer. Someday I would like to attend the New Orleans Jazz Festival, so maybe tie it in with that. Till cocktails..... Be Safe and Be Well.
We were there for a week just incase of bad weather. Three days would be perfect! Till cocktails.. Happy 2023!!
Hey what year make and model is your rig? If you had it to do over would you have gotten another rig instead?
2018 Holiday Rambler Endeavor XE 38K. We bought used so this model was close enough to what we wanted. If we had bought new or had more time to shop used we would have bought a Holiday Rambler or Fleetwood Discovery 38W.
Damn I wish I had known you were coming to my hometown! Iâve actually been telling my other friends to skip it with all the crime right now. Itâs a shame because I love NOLA. I hope you had a good time.
Not sure if we'd go back or not but glad we made it there to see it in đperson. It does seem a little sketchy in certain area. That being said we still had a good time. Take care and enjoy your travels!
When you park at Cracker Barrel like you do will you bring out your driver side slide?
We do not bring out the driver side slide. Take care and have a happy and healthy 2023!
@@oureverydaygetaway thank you and both of you too
Hello. Are you guys going to the adventure bandits Glamp out this year. Hope to see you there
Depending when and where it is. We would love to go to one of their Glamp Outs! They seem like such a great couple and so real. Take care and thanks for watching. đ
@oureverydaygetaway I was hoping you had your tickets because it sold out already. Every camping spot is gone. That's to bad.
@@Sir-Rich Chris just told me he looked into going last year but we weren't going to be in the area so he didn't buy a ticket. Sorry we'll miss it. Have a great time!
Next time Y'all come threw Louisiana try tickfaw state park all spots are blacktopped and nice wood decks shaded or Fontainebleau state park nice big spaces with lots of wild life both are north of New Orleans but not a far drive/ I wish I would have known Y'all were in Louisiana I would taken y' in my boat to see the Louisiana swamp
Thanks for the great suggestion! You shouldn't have said that now we'll have to plan a trip back just so you can take us out on your boat.đ So appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Happy New Year!
@@oureverydaygetaway if Y'all are still in Destine you have to eat at Stubies Great seafood
Will put that one on the list for next time. We are headed back to Orlando from MD this week and then onto the Tampa show.
Chris It will only work one time, now katrina wonât be ready the next time you say be ready by 8 . Iâve heard the downtown smells like a rest room and can be a little dangerous? Did you guys experience anything like that.?
Yup, from now on I'll be at least 10 minutes late for everything. đ€Ł Just kidding! The downtown area was fine if you stayed on Bourbon Street where all the activity was. The side streets did seem a little sketchy. Take care and have a wonderful 2023!
How far is the state park from New Orleans?
Itâs about 15-20 minutes drive to downtown but depends on traffic
NOLA used to be a great place to visit! Especially the French Quarter area! Now I would avoid at all costs! The crime is out of control and per capital more murders than Chicago! The Mayor is a complete joke and doesnât care about her city much less her citizens! She also doesnât care about tourists! All she cares about is traveling abroad on the taxpayers dime! So sad đąbut you get what you vote for!
It took us about 25 minutes with traffic. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment. Safe travels!
After Chris ain't that sandwich, a lot of farting sounds showed up in the audio. Hmm... I don't know, maybe he was wearing balloon pants!
LOL! He said it was a microphone sitting on the dinette that he forgot to shutoff so every time we moved it picked up the sound. I now have to go back and listen for the sound. đ€Ł Hope your little feral friends made it through that cold spell. Take care.
