Cooper Black is a heavily weighted, old style serif typeface designed by Oswald Bruce Cooper in 1922. His lettering had a big impact on the type industry. His font also had a big resurgence in the 60's and 70"s. It was used as a logo for Tootsie Roll Candy, Payless Cashways, MASH, Cooper Tires, Houston Rockets and a Beach Boys and Harry Nilsson album to name a few.
