    I'm laughing as I'm texting this... you said "don't get your fingers stuck", I loved it. I am going to dedicated my learning with you after tonight. Your funny and exciting and make one want to learn. Your qualities are outstanding and your way of coming across to strangers that you can't even see is a form of art... thank you for being you. I don't know you but I love you and your way,i only know one way and that is your art of teaching. Again thank you. And I hope to some day play to you what I've learned from you. Amen...

    What a lovely man! I liked the video after one minute just for the positivity of the teacher. The lesson itself was very useful and I am sure I will follow it when I start playing guitar. Thank you so much ♥

    Fingetstyle should be the DEFAULT first teaching method. After flat picking for 40 years, I started this and it made ALL of my playing and understanding MUCH BETTER. I can slash, chet, or knopfler ALOT better now. I study Chet Atkins way. It involves a thumb pick to help those bass beats ring out

      i teach both at first. so beginner can decide what suits better for them. and u need to know both basically.

      @budsodalsky Před 2 lety

      @@PrantikNath Yessir yep! Although, I think there is a right brain / left brain right hand / left hand excersizing that only Fingerstyle works to improve - just like piano players - that helps all flat picking too

      @PrantikNath Před 2 lety

      @@budsodalsky there's lots of left hand right hand/brain exercise for flat / alternate picking as well.

    I play this easily because this is how I self taught myself. And it makes playing so much more interesting and fun. The slap technique (percussion) came naturally to me. Everyone's different I guess :)

      Same for the most part. Learned guitar from a guy named Elliott Smith. Took his shapes and learned pretty fast. Didn’t learn Travis picking first but a form of it that combines strumming. I play alt-country so I can just “chuck boom” as opposed to slap technique. Another alt picking form I first learned to pick with was this exact same one but hit the bass notec pluck the D,G,B or G,B,E strings then an alt Travis style i between.

    You are so lucky to have started without a pick. I can’t seem to let go of my death grip on the pick.. even basic chords that I can do in my sleep befuddle me the second I try to fingerpick the notes! It’s frustrating as hell and one of the primary reasons I no longer play nor even consider myself a guitarist anymore.

  • @louieo.blevinsmusic4197

    I’m pretty sure Brent Cobb uses a similar style in his song “Keep ‘em on their toes.” I think he uses it and plucks individual strings as well tho.

    • @sPidX1
      @sPidX1 Před 2 lety +1

      You can very often identify a guitarist with a quick glance at their hands, fingernails short as can be on one hand and long shaped nails on the other…so in answer to your question, yes, longer nails can indeed help with fingerpicking ✌🏻🤓
