🦠 Bird Flu Case in Michigan:
A second bird flu infection has been confirmed in a Michigan dairy worker, marking another rare human case linked to dairy cattle. The individual experienced mild symptoms, primarily pink eye, and has since recovered. This follows a similar case in Texas earlier this year. The CDC has reassured there is no evidence of human-to-human transmission currently. In response, pharmaceutical companies like CureVac NV are developing vaccines, causing a notable surge in their stock prices.
🌩️ Severe Weather Forecast in the US Plains and Midwest:
The coming days will bring severe weather across the US Plains and Midwest, with potential for tornadoes, heavy winds, hail, and flash flooding. Areas expected to be hardest hit include central and eastern Nebraska today, with Kansas and Oklahoma on Saturday, and a range of states from Illinois to Arkansas by Sunday. For safety and preparedness tips, see the linked weather maps below.
🌾 Global Grain Prices and Russian Economy:
Russia faces potential economic challenges from rising global grain prices, exacerbated by recent dry weather and frost damaging its wheat crop. Historical measures have included bans on grain exports to stabilize domestic prices, with significant global repercussions. Current weather conditions and economic strategies in Russia are pivotal in understanding global food security and market fluctuations.
🌽 Brazil's Corn Crop Forecast:
Agroconsult has revised down its forecast for Brazil's second corn crop due to drought in major producing states. This anticipated 10.5% decrease in production could impact global corn supplies, although global stockpiles are expected to be at a five-year high. This situation underscores the complexities of agricultural economics and climate impacts on food production.
🚗 US Ethanol Production and Gasoline Demand:
Ethanol production in the US has shown an increase, aligning with rising gasoline demand. This trend offers insights into energy markets and potential economic indicators. Detailed statistics on production, stock levels, and demand trends can be found in the charts linked below.
🏦 Federal Reserve's Economic Outlook:
Federal Reserve officials signal that interest rates may remain high longer than anticipated, with potential further rate increases if inflation accelerates again. However, recent economic data showing cooling price pressures and a slowdown in hiring could influence future rate cuts. Fed Governor Christopher Waller emphasized the need for continued positive economic data before considering rate reductions.

Good morning! Thoughts on the bird flu story? Planting updates? 👇
From the standpoint of a 'consumer', it's just a "tempest in a teapot".
100% done with corn. 60% beans done. Its been a long week, but we've had amazing weather to recover from 0% planted on May 17
I think we got shadowb@nned despite my request, lol
But you said please!
They desperately want bird flu to be a story. Planting still going here (or will be when it dries)also a lot of less than Ideal conditions are leading to some stand loss across the area according to crop consultants.
I didn't take vaccine last time And I WILL NOT next time !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drove through Ohio farm country yesterday, some corn up 3 inches, most acres not planted, tillage equipment, planting equipment, staged by Fields, looks late to me , not bad yet
No banning today. No planting today or for a while with the forecast. Located western Iowa.
Shut your silo access doors on the outside. With treatment the cows come back pretty quick after you stop the birds from crapping in the feed. It spreads through manure so wash your hands and boots after leaving the barn.
Planted corn on Saturday, snowed on it Today (Thursday). 'Course, I'm in Montana at 4000 ft elevation.....What do I expect?
that was fantastic
You never know what their thinking up, up on the hill, definitely not thinking like you and me!
Lot of crops are up and most of the hay is looking good here in nw Wis.
Still pretty dry western southest nebraska....north of I 80, east of hwy 77, soggyish, south and west of there, we are still in the drought...
Another JAB like shot? NO WAY!
All planted in nc Indiana. Holstein steers are fine. We are too.😋
Best thumbnail ever? (it is 👌)
Interesting
Update on the Euro model for Eastern Iowa predicted last week- it turned out to be right on the money.
Reminds me of "Please Don't Judas Me" by Nazareth. LOL Personally, corn all planted, waiting for the rest of soybeans due to mud. Much heavy ground unplanted. NE WI.
Perhaps if these dairy workers would stop trying to use cow waste as eye drops they would be fine. Safety glasses are cheap, and fear based headlines can generate alot of clicks. At this time the concern over high path in humans is higher than it should be. It is still a huge danger to the poultry industry, and increased biosecurity on poultry operations should be all operator's priority
Nothing I said was untrue.
Bird Flu might wipe out Mankind??? 😂😂😂😂
God doesn't give a spirit of fear, but of sound mind, love and peace. So its from satan. Know by its fruits.
Military drills around Taiwan by China?
Bi-weekly event until it isn't
@@brianbauer8761ya nothing new👌
Putting a wet blanket on the new President’s inauguration.
Been looking at this for awhile. Has not killed any cows. Seems odd because it’s deadly to birds and humans. Also killed a ton of baby seals in Southern Hemisphere. Human to human transmission would be a disaster with its 50% death rate in humans. Now that would be a real pandemic.
Bird Flu noise is all made up. Total BS.
You had to go there... To date the mortality rate with bird flu is over 50%. If or when human to human transmission eventually occurs and we have another global pandemic, but this time with an extraordinarily high mortality rate, seems to me a vaccine would be a pretty good idea, no? It's not a matter of if but when we have a more lethal pandemic. Vaccines save lives and are largely responsible for nearly doubling life expectancy over the past century. Something to remember.
Correct....mortality rate is about 50%. Still, there have only been ~900 human cases in the last 20 years...no known instances of human to human transmission with current strains.
Yet if it did? Hope not. Yet look at history. It always repeats.@@GrainMarketsandOtherStuff
