This video was an absolute blast. So many fish. So much casting skill. I love when you fish structure and get that perfect cast and hook straight away. Makes it seem like there is a skill to fishing and not just luck.

What a good bream session! Those lures look they are made for bream.
We used to call those Goby's mud gudgets. Heaps around the Parra back in the 70's. And those little shad fry might work when the salmon are busting up on the jelly prawns.
Nice, I think they are oyster crested gobys or something. Ive caught a few in the Georges years ago

That first bream had some crazy colours
They all looked quite dark for some reason
colours like an oil spill in the water
always manage to catch a couple nice fish even if your using a new lure.

Now my friend it's a new year so time for a new method.! I would really like to see you fish those "micro shads" directly under your rod tip, nose hooked on a drop shot rig set about 18inches/45cm off the bottom. Probably best done from one of the boating pontoons or ferry docks you visit.

Agreed Fred, I wish I could just focus on the high time investing/large lures/big fish fishing but with a weekly upload I can only do them the odd video if that makes sense. Lets hope this summer I can do some more of that!

Mate i can go from my 30 years of experience, in the last 8 years the 2 things i've changed are lure profile size and attempting to follow barometer trends as much as possible, the amount of trophy size flathead alone i've been blessed enough to raise in that time compared to the previous 22 years is undeniable..
I'm not saying anyone is doing anything wrong, just a fisho talking shop from my own thousands of hours fishing, tight lines lad.

I caught my first fish through lure fishing today then 2 more afterwards! I've been listening to your soft plastics beginner series podcast on Spotify and was actually listening to it when I caught the the first then second two lol. Went out on the parra river and threw lures the whole day with the mindset that the next cast could have a fish and after several hours bam finally got a fish. Maybe it was the confidence or just the persistence of flicking for hours 🤣
Congratulations! Momentous achievemnt right there haha. I really should make people realise I have about 15 episodes or so of me babbling on haha. Keep it up, I knew it would help a lot of people!

I use a uniknot, I show it in my Beginners guide for soft plastics (can find it here on the channel). Sometimes I use loop knot but only for hardbodies
