As a kid, my Mom made biscuit donuts. I'm talking late 60's early 70's. She would put cinnamon and sugar in a paper bag and our job was to put the donuts in and shake to coat them. She did another bag with powder sugar. This was our treat after coming in from playing in the snow along with a cup of hot chocolate. Fond, happy memories.
Did she bake them or fry them ?
My mom used to make these for me and called them "Poor Man's Donuts". She would Fry them and shake with cinnomon and sugar. They were so good!

We used to take small strips of biscuit dough and wrap it around “Lil’ Smokies”. Similar to bite sized pigs in a blanket. And since it’s sausage it can be served with syrup for breakfast or some mustard for dinner. I’ve had it both ways and it’s always good!

If we didn't have sausage at home, I would take some Hot Dogs, cut in half, then wrap the biscuit around the dog and put in the oven

Nicely done sweetie. I’ve been baking for years the combination of brown sugar, butter, powdered sugar, extract (vanilla or maple) will give off the taste of maple you are right. I saw some comments asking if the bars taste like maple.

Maple bars=yum. Where I live we call them Long John's. I love them with chocolate glaze.

When you go to the Chinese buffet and they have those donuts without a hole rolled in regular granulated sugar. They make those with canned biscuits. :-)

Why are they called Maple Bars when they have No Maple 🤔 ... Id just have to add some Maple Syrup 🍁😋🤟

Or caramel. A splash of maple would have made them maple but there is no maple
