  • Since its inception over 10 years ago, WireMock has become one of the most popular tools for API mocking. Started by Tom Akehurst as an open source library for Java unit test frameworks, now it is a wide open source ecosystem that spans across multiple technology stacks. WireMock for Java remains its core which is used in WireMock Docker container images and many integrations, and remains a reference open source server implementation. In a few weeks we will be releasing WireMock 3.0.0, and it is a big milestone for the project.
At this meetup Tom Akehurst, now the CTO of WireMock Inc, and Oleg Nenashev, the meetup host and WireMock developer advocate, will talk about what’s coming up in WireMock 3.0.0 and, more importantly, what’s next for the WireMock Core. We will talk about new features and developer experience, dropping Java 1.8 support and new extension points coming up in the new release. Then we will talk about major features planned shortly after the WireMock 3 release: gRPC and GraphQL mocking, Java 21 support, Testcontainers modules, and many other things we’d like to see happening and we seek contributions for!
