Getting the goalie off the post when you’re down low in the zone was the most helpful tip i got out of this. I can’t do it as efficiently as the video, but im getting it now. I’ve been watching this channel for about two years now and the tips have really helped my game. Im not that good online but I play all star-superstar in sb and win for the most part

Yeah I got it last night and I'll score 6 one game and then 0 the next game. I haven't bought since 2018 this game is frustrating for sure.
I spent the entire game in my opponents zone and lost 1-0. I need to know what this game wants you to do in order to score. Time on attack was 10:00-3:00

Just wanted to note that for the corner snipe you really want to get the goalie into the 1-knee stance shown in the clip at @1:35. If the goalie is in any other stance this shot has a much lower percent chance of going in. You might know that already, but you didn't specifically state it in the video, and you actually showed a clip of Jack Hughes hitting a beauty snipe when the goalie was in the stand up stance (clearly possible, just a much more precise shot).
Is there a specific way to get them in that one knee stance or is it just by vhance

The only problem I have is that the shot lane is always clogged so most one-timers get blocked. On the breakaways, I will be 2-3 steps ahead try and do a move but the defense always knocks enough to mess it up. I'll practice some of these, but given you used the best player for that corner shot, will it also work with a lower rated player?
Good to see they still have the glitch goals. They always will and they'll get my $8 when it's on sale just before 25.

For some reason I can’t get that goal down low to go “Corner Goal” and I can’t get the timing right, Your definitely a great player cause i can’t get that goal down all the other ones I can but the one I want to do the most, I cant 🤦🏼♂️😂

Good video, I have played 23 and 24, just semi pro vs comp, online very hard, but giving the online a shot now. Not good when you get smashed
Do you have to click the protect puck for the backhand breakaway or is it pretty automatic without protecting the puck first?

How do you get the corner shot against cpu? It rides you soon as you enter the zone on pro difficulty and above. If you go to the boards it will pin you before you can cut back. Thanks.

I score cross crease goals a lot. Deflections work for scoring as well.

These are great examples of how to score... if user controls top 5% of overall players with top 5% speed.... McDavid, eichel... rest of your influencer funded Hut Team... don't forget your top line of forwards plays 20 minutes in real life (aka 1 period)
you're way better off learning fundamentals of getting the puck down low and protecting it since that's 2/3rds of your actual strategy...
Second best tip for scoring is learning effective dumps and honing up your forecheck til it's lights out. Turnovers in their zone lead to more goals than breakaways any day

Only glitch goal is really see is the first one, breakaways and one times are just hockey. Also I'd say there is other ones like five hole breakaway which is pretty much auto
Not trying to exploit all of the glitches, but they are for the most part the best ways to score. The five hole has been more open this year for sure!
It’s nearly impossible to score on a cpu goalie this year it’s really frustrating the only way to score is it going off the post or bouncing off the goalie

Anyone else have issues releasing the shot compared to last year? Sometimes when I’m skating in from the side and cutting into the slot to shoot far side, I’ll flick the stick up to shoot it, and my player doesn’t shoot. He just keeps holding it
I haven’t personally had that issue much, maybe once or twice with slap shots but that’s it. What button layout are you using?
@@TwoManAdvantage regular skill stick controls. Only thing I can think of is maybe I’m pulling the right stick too far back when trying to take a wrist shot, and the game thinks I’m just holding it on the forehand and not shooting?
Make sure on control settings you have “shooting behaviour” set to always up and not camera angle

Do any of you guys use Hybrid nhl 94 controls no shooting problems with those.
I prefer playing in broadcast view which kinda gives me the realistic feel... But I've tried so hard to aim for different corners and still no luck... On average I only get to score 1-2 goals per game out of 40+ shots
I must absolutely suck at this because I cannot even score in practice mode just playing against the goalie. Especially the breakaway backhand I would say that 8 out of 10 times my player doesn’t shoot it at the end.. I probably just don’t know what I am doing with the controller

It doesn’t work aswell as on nhl24 as it did on 23 but I still try to use the slide into the middle holding the deke and moving the stick into the middle to force into the middle and shoot

Does anybody know how to reduce scoring by any chance ?? Every shot goes in or god for big a loos rebound or deflection goalies are horrible I literally have to score an average of 5 goals a game computer scores at will it’s so unrealistic.

These work maybe up to Semi-Pro... after that it's all downhill.
I feel like playing online is terrible. It lags out of nowhere n the other guys score easily or never get penalized.

@TwoManAdvantage it definitely helped with the Gretzky. However, I can't beat the Howe 6 goal to save my life. I seem to be stuck in a loop. I always seem to score 2 goals right away, and then they just shut down everything I'm trying to do. The team is dog shit and the the only guys I can score with are the Howes. That is unless I get a garbage goal. Maybe you can try it and see what works. I've played it so many times and it's always the same result. 3 or 4 goals tops.

Is there a tutorial in this game? Just got the game for my son and neither of us can find it. We’ve never played a hockey game before and we’re totally lost 😂.
This year they completely changed a lot of the game. I recommend going into a training mode under team practice. Dude 5 offense players and 0 defensive players. Play around for awhile with just your players and add defensive players as you want to start challenging yourself

Unfortunately not a basic tutorial in game as there should be, I have a lot of tips videos that help with intermediate and advanced once you get down the basics. Hope that helps

Cross crease is harder this year.
A bit harder this year, I’ve found it best to pass it in closer versus being far out

Looks like they dialed down the goalie difficulty from last years game, much needed in my opinion. Last year it was impossible to score from shots and one timers, the only way to score was rebounds and breakaways. Very unrealistic, glad they fixed it

I’m just not good enough no matter how hard I try. It sucks to hear ya’ll talk of ‘easy’ ways. Yet the AI creams me before I can even try to do half of what I see suggested. :(
bro try one timers get your player on one side and press x or square to shoot it quick
I can’t even get passing to work. I try extremely hard. I have a SUPER open lane to my target… yet the moment I try to pass one of the AI players sticks just…reaches it. Ffs it honestly feels like it just floats away from my passing lane and onto their sticks by magic lol. I was loving nhl 23. Was able to get like 30 goal games if I wanted in rookie. Could hold my own and win like half the time in Superstar. I only went to rookie to do like.. scoring challenges and things easier. I’m losing almost every game on rookie by 0-2 or 1-3 type scores! On Superstar I’m still losing but it doesn’t feel as bad. I can’t score with any of the tricks and have watched video after video guide and just…. Nothing. I can’t get hits now no matter how hard I try in that department as well. I can’t place it except somehow I went from being decent a year ago to losing every single gene I play lol. It’s sucked the fun right out of HuT for me atm. Practice everything soooo much. I just suck now sadly lol. :(
I find NHL 24 the worst release. The CPU on anything higher than pro is just ridiculous. They smash you everytime, pass through cover everytime and goalies stop unstoppable shots. I find your own AI blocks you more than anything. Faceoffs seem to be even harder this year. Glad this is on gamepass because its total shit
the problem for me is i play going down on the screen. I have a hard time playing w/ going up like most people
