My narcissist ex-husband, clinical diagnosed, is convincing our son to finish his last year of high school in a different state away from me. I finally am building a relationship with him since my divorce a few months ago and this crazy ex of mind is convincing him to move because there is better football at this other school. I’m so upset about the whole thing, That this man is able to do this to my kid. To take him away from his siblings, friends, church, emotional support, academic requirements and for a chance he could possibly get a better scholarship here. I feel so powerless yet I know the lord hears my prayers. I know He is greater than a manipulating man but the pain of it all is crushing. I so upset that he continue to sabotage my relationships especially with my children. All I need is you lord - all I need is you.

When I was younger my Father asked me to play this song at his Funeral. It never meant to much to me at the time. I though it was an interesting concept. A song that reflects your feelings to pass on? As time moved on I became an Atheist myself and really never bothered to listen to the song on merit alone. But my father, true and blue man of the people until his last breath. I've never met anyone who loved God more. No one had more unconditional love than this man could provide. Now, when I listen to this song I break down. I miss him so much. He knew how much he meant to me, but I feel as if I should've done more. He did his best and worked on his perceived faults. I'm so lonely without my best friend, I didn't even know he was my best friend until it was to late. I know no one will probably read this, I just really wanted to vent somewhere. Somewhere public. Where people could know what a Man he was. and for whatever it's worth how much value he had to me. If heaven is real he better be there, there's no God I could respect who wouldn't accept his life into a Heaven. I'd happily spend an eternity in a Hell if it meant he was in his ideal Heaven. I've never seen life hit a man so hard, just to watch him get back up and fight. Then still strive to be a servant for others. Have a great day all. And cherish those you can. Even if they piss you off sometimes. Because they will.

@Red Barron While there is some truth to what you're saying, I don't necessarily think it's wise to cast aspersions or such a wide net over the entire ministry. You can't speak to the substance of every single person within Hillsong(which is a global ministry in multiple countries) because of one person in Marty. That's unknowable, nor do you have that authority to make such a leap. There are people who are genuinely saved and know Christ there and have substance. Whether you believe that or not is irrelevant.
As far as Marty is concerned, and I think this is important, don't assume you know why he's having problems with his faith. I actually don't believe it has much to do with lack of substance. In fact, a sizable amount of his songs, particularly his earlier ones, had tons of substance. This very song "All I need is you" has tons of substance in it. Perhaps one can take issue with the level of exposure he's had early on in his church life, but that would be an exercise in futility. I still love this song and the message is undeniable.
I actually think Marty has another issue going on. I've looked into his life a little bit, which is quite private from what you can glean from it, and it appears his issues, from what I've seen, stem from questions he's never had answered or confronted, along with the issues with his children who appear to be mentally challenged or disabled in some way. And God only knows what his marriage looks like(not saying that's failing or anything since I don't know.) Any man would and should have questions at some point in his faith. If you've never had hard questions about your faith or internal doubts, then you aren't doing this right. God encourages these challenges so we can grow in him. We have a whole book in Habbakuk where the man of God is challenging God regarding the validity of his word because of the lack of results he was seeing. Even Jonah had this problem and God had to deal with him at the end of the book. We seem to gloss over these lives like they never happened in the entirety of the Bible. This happened multiple times in the Bible. Gideon did too. So did Thomas. Even Jesus struggled with being crucified saying "let this cup pass from me." We all must confront and deal with our doubts and questions. Perhaps this is just Marty's time to do so, despite it's public ugliness. You don't throw an entire ministry under the bus as a result. That would make you no better than those who canard the Bible and Christianity for their own ends.
We've got to get past this surface stuff that does nothing for nobody. My hope is you aren't praying for him, and others for that matter, as you've commented here today, otherwise you're not doing much better than the man who thanked God that he wasn't like the other man who he thought failed. Do better than this.
I absolutely love this version of this song...the presence of the Lord & the anointing...the enemy is out to destroy the lives of God's servants ..I thank God for divine intervention in our brother in Christ life & totally healing & restoration in his heart & life❤️

This was the first song that I listened of Hillsong. In that moment I knew about Marty and Joel, dont just like a great musicians but also like a great worshipers. Marty, if you read me, let me say you that God wait for you man.

Can't really differentiate whether I was touched by the Holy Spirit or because of the news that just went viral these few days, I just can't control myself from crying out loud when I was singing and leading this song during tonight's worship practice at my church. Guess both might be the case.
I am not here to judge, but am really grieved for what Marty is struggling at the moment, for the fact that he himself and the songs that he had written has had a huge impact in my life.
Pray that God will reveal Himself and guide you in the days to come, do know that God had used you to impact so many of us in the world. Love you Marty.

Good! he's not blind sheep. Just because you feel good, listen to good music that makes you feel even better. Doesn't give any shred of evidence whether the Bible is true or not. You have to genuinely seek it YOURSELF. If GOD is true, if God was real you wouldn't need to believe in the first place. Everyone would not need believe, they would, we would all know and there would be no need for religion if God was real. The fact theres so many out there that contradicts each other just shows it is man made.
Marty said in an interview "I want genuine truth. Not the “I just believe it” kind of truth. Science keeps piercing the truth of every religion. " That is exactly right Science is the best model of how to explain the unknowing, its not perfect but its the best process of understanding our world/nature. One example is Evolution that explains diversity of life then have the bible where Adam and Eve are the first humans who had 3 sons Cain, Abel and Seth who also had daughters. They would have incestuous relations to populate the world. Compare that with evolution with change over time and that all animals on this earth are related and we share a common ancestor etc
Then there are issues with the bible about slavery to name one example (Exodus 21:20-21) on how you can treat slaves. Once you know the rubbish in the Bible its clear there's no use in believing or praying. Throw it out, move on and learn what the world offers and not some bronze age book which tells us things thats goes against what we know so far about our world and life.
