Hey! Thanks for watching!
I'm Paula. I'm a former professional cook and overall eating enthusiast.
I started this channel because I love making dinner and I love eating dinner.. but mostly it's because all I've ever wanted in life is to have my own cooking show. When I didn't get a callback after submitting my tape to Food Network in 2003, I put that dream to rest for a while. Until I clued in, I can do it myself on CZcams!
I love sharing the tips I've learned from professional kitchens and tidbits from my holistic nutrition education. But mostly I just want to show you how to make dinner. (See what I did there?) 😄
My cooking style is simple but flavourful. I cook with a lot of veggies but I'm not vegetarian. For me, a typical dinner is plant-forward, budget-friendly, non-fussy, and really delicious. As a step-mom, I make a lot of family-friendly comfort food, as well as a lot of simple, indulgent dinners for one (or two).

Hi! I hope you like this little market outing! I'll (hopefully) be asleep when this goes up but I look forward to reading your comments in the AM 😀
I am a Bulgarian living in Canada, I am going to Bulgaria in a few days :D
One thing that Bulgaria does better than most, are the quality of the vegetables and fruits, especially tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, cherries, peaches, nectarines, I mean I think I can say every vegetable and fruit, and you can find it in Bulgaria at a great value and the best quality.
I just paid $5.50 CAN for 3 peaches yesterday in Toronto....
I think you're right! The fruit and veg is top notch. We've been picking a lot of apricots too and they are amazing. Word of advice: If you can avoid checking a bag, do it! Air Canada still has our luggage (somewhere) and we landed over 10 days ago. We're phoning all the numbers but it's a slog. Enjoy your visit home!
@@HowToMakeDinner Air Canada is expensive, I typically fly Polish LOT or Turkish Airlines. But, never had a checkin baggage problem in a long time, hopefully not this time.
You will get your baggage safe and sound soon!
Algorithm hasn't shown your vids for 7 months. Happy to see the changes and exciting to see some Bulgarian cuisine.
Aw nuts! Well I’m glad we’ve been reunited! 😅
Everything in Canada here on Saltspring island is so incrediblly expensive. That huge tomato would be about $10, and an organic cucumber is $6. I don’t know how we can afford to keep living here, and I’ve been here 45 years.
I agree. Prices are getting scary high. Especially on the islands!
You look like an exact twin of my old friend Michelle from high school. She wished to dig a hole all the way to China lol.
I forgot about your channel over the last year - always loved your videos. Glad to have found you again. The mrs. and I will look forward to making your recipes once again.
Hahah! I remember trying that once! I think I got about 1 foot deep
Everything looks great, especially that giant tomato, and I went directly to your Shopska salad video!
Thanks Steve! Yeah I couldn't resist that tomato lol
Ahhh hope you had a blast! Thanks for taking us with you :)
Thanks for joining!
I love how real you are in your videos, really enjoyed your canned fish video. Might have to try canned fish again, had a bad experience with tuna years ago and havent tried it since
Thank you! Sorry to hear about your bad canned tuna experience, I know that kind of thing can be hard to recover from! Glad you’re enjoying the videos :) - Paula
So cool! Love this, and the channel name is so apt 😆 thanks for sharing, much love from Singapore ❤️
lol I saw that tomato on the ig. loved the footage from the market
Haha! It was enough for a big salad for lunch and pasta for dinner!
Cool! I am going to Bulgeria this year for vacation as well!
Lovely! I hope you have a great time!
QUEEN
Mmmmmmm....summer tomatoes!. Still waiting here, but wondering if they'll be super sized after all that early rain we had?!
Hopefully!
Ahh this was wonderful, I want tomatoes now! Also had to google your printsesa sandwich, gosh looks amazing, reminds me of something we have in Poland called zapiekanka, but its made with mushrooms and not minced meat.
Ooh a mushroom version sounds amazing! Looking it up!!
@@HowToMakeDinner The super simple ones are the best, some people put weird stuff on them lol. Just cut up mushrooms, for me the smaller cut the better, sauteed with some onion if you want, then loaded onto a cut up baguette or long french style bread, topped with cheese and broiled. Traditionally served with some ketchup on top, and that's it :)
@@kaiju_k5042 I like the idea of a really fine chop - almost like a mushroom pâté
@@HowToMakeDinner Yes exactly, it tastes so much better than big hunks of mushrooms. Oh also I got the new Modern Proper cookbook recently, it's so good! I meant to tell you since you introduced them to you through that amazing Hungarian Mushroom soup I can't stop making.
@@kaiju_k5042 oh lovely! I’ll check it out!
That tomato is the size of your head! Hope you are reunited with your luggage soon.
Hahah truly! Thank you, we’re hoping today is the day
❤
What are you doing over there? Stay safe!
