Notice the nuances in Grace's eye movements and facial expressions as this scene unfolds, there's a degree of uncertainty. Then when the spotlight comes on, her whole face literally and figuratively lights up.. You got this acting thing down pat Grace VanderWaal/Stargirl.

That's what I love about Grace She sounds just as good without instruments. If this was anyone else I imagine it would be a big production with strings and percussions

It would still be tiny production with no strings/drums. But it wouldn't sound as good. I'm getting a bit tired (in a nice way) of reading/writing that her voice is "rich" enough to be the only instrument. Can't we invent a single word for it? How about LADATER, Lovely And Damaged And Therefore Extremely Rich. Plus people seldomly talk about the pitch, because something's a tiny bit off here if one has an ear for it. On "Beautiful Thing" AGT Simon said "maybe the notes were wrong". Nope, she just adjusts her pitch to the beast which is an Uke - never-really-tuned. And that made it even more special for some folks. Actually, she's overly aware of stuff around her - sound + people. And that also explains why her eyes move slightly - almost not noticable - towards the camera here + in "Stray". Not easy to get rid of that if it's built into her that deep.

It's out, it's out!! Man very powerful and emotional movie... hit me hard! I have the book but have been waiting to read it because I didn't want to have expectations. so I didn't have any idea what to expect.. but I certainly didn't expect what I got... such powerful feelings I literally sat in silent awe for 10 minutes after it was over... whooo!

What i love the most in this one is she is (let alone a lil few uke notes) singing it a-capella and keeping it real and casual, like she would sing it in her room for fun, and tho its a scene for the film, we can see she is genuinely enjoying herself and that smile isnt forced, its all her and genujne. If some ask why we're still here supporting her stronger every passing day, this is just one of the many reasons why.
