It feels a lot wholesome to hear Morgan laugh like real loud laughter. The show hardly has her laughing like this.

Morgan Reznick has grown on me immensely. She still has her moments but when she cried we were like “Whhhattt???” And then she cried again and revealed she was going through egg retrieval. Morgan doesn’t cry 😂
But honestly, the thing I like most about this show is the development of the characters. It feels real; some progress more than others, some backslide, some make changes and they make mistakes.
What I don’t like about the show is what I dislike about many medical dramas. They’re not realistic. I just got out of the hospital and I didn’t even see a doctor for 24 hours, they came down from pharmacy three times to confirm my meds (I cannot just stop them, I will get very sick and in my whole stay, they provided my promised prescriptions twice at the wrong dosage….my husband would have brought them in, but our car was broken down after someone attempted to steal it, and our only other vehicle is a 3.5 tonne horse box and it wasn’t near our house and we were waiting to get the car back when I went into the hospital), they promised so many things that didn’t happen. They watched me get sicker from going cold turkey off all my meds and I came to them to treat the second worse pain in my life.
They gave me additional pain meds twice - once 9 hours after admission when I was vomiting bile and blood because my stomach was so irritated and dosed me with one breakthrough dosage of my regular painkiller (I have a bad case of Ehlers-Danlos and live in chronic pain) and then pushed morphine because I had vomited so much I subluxated my bottom three left ribs and they had to reset them.
They lost my bloods twice, jabbed me 12-13 times, blew three veins, had to treat me with additional TXA due to my bleeding disorder and I have large haematomas regardless from blown veins and blood tests, I never had a pillow once, I never saw the same surgeon or nurse twice, they almost gave me both NSAIDs and anti-coagulants (that could kill me in a bleeding episode due to my bleeding disorder) and did nothing about the repeated urine tests with blood in my urine.
There were strikes on, nurses and pathologists the first day, radiographers the next. They advised a CT scan, but I couldn’t sleep due to the fact of snoring of others, the activity on the ward, the nurses station had THE squeakiest and loudest door that opened all the time. I put random videos on my phone abd turned my headphones up and both times I slept was awoken for vitals.
They finally told me they cancelled all elective and non-emergency CT scans and even though I was on the emergency list, it would be a week from admission to get one done.
I signed myself out. I could control my pain at home and the pain and blood was subsiding. I had a bad case of kidney stones.
In the show, doctors do all the tests, there are multiple doctors for each patient seeing them multiple times a day, even playing mahjong with one of them. The labs are returned in an hour, a CT scan done by the doctor immediately and I would have been seen by a doctor in an emergency situation where an ischemic bowel was one of their worries for me. It was the worst experience I’ve had, and given my health and the many surgeries I’ve had that’s saying something.
So watching this show whilst at the hospital I couldn’t believe the care, how caring they are, how clean it was, how patients had a pillow, and oh - if I stayed for my scan, I was nil by mouth until then with no glucose drip to keep me from being dizzy.
Sorry this was so long, but staying in hospital this week and experiencing that level of pain and then seeing the contrast to what these patients in tv shows gets, can be misleading. All I wanted was to have my meds provided to me which was important, to control the pain and do a quick scan. It took four nurses and 3 hours to get a glass of water.

Im sorry you had to go through that. My experience in a hospital was only from when I was not even able to see properly yet so I can't say much but I can confirm that there are good hospitals and staff.

@@somedudefromapharmacy there really are. My life was saved by a doctor who took my complaints seriously after my GP dismissed me. My fallopian tube had twisted and cut off blood supply to my left ovary, which was beginning to go necrotic. I could have died! By that other doctor took my complaints seriously
