খরচ কম তাই রোজগার কম, এমনটা নয়, একটা দেশের জনসংখ্যার কারণ সেই দেশের মোট আয় এবং জনপ্রতি আয় (par capita income) নির্ধারণ করে। এই অনুযায়ী দেশের মানুষের বেতনের পরিকাঠামোর বিস্তার হয়।
মরা দেশে জন্মেছি তাই আধমরা হয়ে কোনোমতে বেঁচে আছি,,, আপনার এই ব্লগ দেখলে নিজেকে নরকের কীট মনে হয়,,, তবুও দেখি ক্ষনিকের ভালোলাগা মুগ্ধ হয়ে যাই,, যখন আপনার ব্লগ শেষ হয় তখন মনটা আবার আধমরা হয়ে যায়,,,,
আজ প্রথম দেখলাম তোমার ব্লগ। জরুরি আলোচনা করলে। খুব ভালোবাসা লাগলো। আমেরিকা নাই বা যাই, কৌতূহল ছিল এই ব্যাপারে, জানতে পারলাম। ধন্যবাদ। পরিবার নিয়ে সুস্থ থাকো ভালো থাকো।
কোনো কাজই ছোটো নয় একথাটা ভারতের ক্ষেত্রে যে কতো বড়ো মিথ্যা প্রবোচন সেটা আপনার ভিডিওটি না দেখলে বুঝতে পারতাম না।ভারতে যে একবার শিক্ষক বা ডাক্তার কিংবা সরকারি কাজ পেয়েছেন তার আর মাটিতে পা পড়েনা। কিন্তু আমেরিকায় একজন ড্রাইভারও ডাক্তারের থেকে বেশী রোজগার করেন। আমেরিকায় রোজগারের পরিমান প্রায় সমান হওয়ায় সবাই সবাইকে সম্মান করেন।
বিহার, উড়িষ্যা বা পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মতো গুরুতরভাবে পশ্চাৎপদ রাজ্যগুলি বাদ দিলে, অন্য সমস্ত উন্নত শহর যেমন মুম্বাই বা ব্যাঙ্গালোর বা হায়দ্রাবাদ বা গুরগাঁওতে বিভিন্ন প্রাইভেট কোম্পানিতে কর্মরত উচ্চ বেতনভুক্ত এবং শিক্ষিত পেশাদাররা (অনেক বাঙালি সহ) তুলনামূলকভাবে কম বেতনের সরকারি কর্মকর্তাদের তুলনায় অনেক বেশি সম্মানিত !!

Wonderful post. Just a minor comment. In America there’s two major types of work, hourly paying (including tips job) and salary pay. Hourly jobs pay are pretty much same, varies little bit with location. Salary jobs mainly dependent on who you are and what are your job responsibilities.

surgeon makes minimum 500-700k $ in big cities, top ones crosses 1 million $. IT salary in top technology companies after 10 years 300-500k, but top salary still in investment banks (easily cross 1 mil $ after 10 yrs, top of the top in the investment banks makes 10 mil ) . no one country comes close to offering compensation like usa.
I am a registered nurse (RN), working for the State of California. I make $140,000 per year. In the private sector RNs make almost the same and if they work in San Francisco (or bay area), their average salary can be $160,000 - $180,000. All these figures are without overtime. Also, note that some hospitals offer bonus money for the RNs if they sign a contract with the hospital for a specific time period. This bonus can go from $2,000 to $20,000 depending on the time of contract. I am thinking, this information can be helpful for some people who are interested to plan their future in California. A very clean country.👌 Very disciplined also. That's what I like about America. But the sorry aspect is the cost of living. In India a person earning rupees 24-30 lakhs a year is an upper middle class person whereas in America he cannot manage his family expenses with that income. Such is the difference in purchasing power parity. So economy of a country should always be measured in terms of purchasing power parity.

It's not that easy to earn 90 lakhs in USA because the per capita income in USA is 74,000 dollars equivalent to 55.5 lakhs rupees. So for an urban middle class it's all the same.

I have heard of a case where an Indian guy of an IT company visited the dentist in USA to do root-canal of one of his tooth. The dentist gave an estimate which is equivalent to 7 lakhs in INR. Not all the treatments are covered under medical insurance and root-canal falls in them. So he continued with his tooth pain for two months. In India the cost of root-canal is may be around 15K to 75K which is 3%-10% than that of USA. One of my neighbours stayed in USA for 30 years. He told me that he used to pay a medical insurance premium equivalent to 13.5 lakhs in INR for a family of three. In India I pay a premium of only 25K for a coverage of 10 lakhs for a family of three. Just imagine the disparity. I am not coming to the legal expenses which is astronomically high in USA and laws are so stringent there, that a minute mistake even unintentionally and in your ignorance can cost you lakhs towards legal expenses. In Kolkata you can buy a decent flat with a money of 70 lakhs. I don't know how much it will cost in New York. May be 2 crores. Then for a middle class where the purchasing power is more? Undoubtedly India.
Regarding salary in I.T companies,product based companies like Amazon,Google,Netflix pays much higher than Indian service based it companies..in product based companies,even for a junior software engineer salary is above 200k$..and apart from that benefits are also better for example many of these companies provide fertility benefits…

For Ph.D. students, we get stipends. It sort of counts as a part-time job because the stipend is for teaching Undergraduate classes at the Universities. If you want to do a master's, then it is very difficult to manage a part-time job indeed. That is because the pressure of homework assignments is so much that you won't have time to work anywhere else. And even if you do, the salary won't be enough for you to survive. Moreover, you have to show a certain amount of money in your bank account to get the I-20. Overall it is very stressful. If you are able to bring a sufficient amount of money from India as per the visa requirements, only then you are financially safe.
I am working in a top MNC in India but as I am working in the Kolkata branch and started my job carrier in Kolkata too I have a huge difference in my salary structure even in the same organisation. If I got a 30%-40% hike I can't survive in Mumbai, Bangalore or Pune, those city is that expensive (even if the person has less designation than I have a higher salary ) I have a problem with this discrimination in salary structure. Is it possible to shift to the USA for the job and how much savings I should have for first time transfer(Food, Lodging, Conveyance).

In India a person earning rupees 24-30 lakhs a year is an upper middle class person whereas in America he cannot manage his family expenses with that income. Such is the difference in purchasing power parity. So economy of a country should always be measured in terms of purchasing power parity.

It's not that easy to earn 90 lakhs in USA because the per capita income in USA is 74,000 dollars equivalent to 55.5 lakhs rupees. So for an urban middle class it's all the same.

I have heard of a case where an Indian guy of an IT company visited the dentist in USA to do root-canal of one of his tooth. The dentist gave an estimate which is equivalent to 7 lakhs in INR. Not all the treatments are covered under medical insurance and root-canal falls in them. So he continued with his tooth pain for two months. In India the cost of root-canal is may be around 15K to 75K which is 3%-10% than that of USA. One of my neighbours stayed in USA for 30 years. He told me that he used to pay a medical insurance premium equivalent to 13.5 lakhs in INR for a family of three. In India I pay a premium of only 25K for a coverage of 10 lakhs for a family of three. Just imagine the disparity. I am not coming to the legal expenses which is astronomically high in USA and laws are so stringent there, that a minute mistake even unintentionally and in your ignorance can cost you lakhs towards legal expenses. In Kolkata you can buy a decent flat with a money of 70 lakhs. I don't know how much it will cost in New York. May be 2 crores. Then for a middle class where the purchasing power is more? Undoubtedly India.

I am working in a top MNC in India but as I am working in the Kolkata branch and started my job carrier in Kolkata too I have a huge difference in my salary structure even in the same organisation.
