The marimba, is a percussion musical instrument,has been declared by the Costa Rican government as a “Symbol of traditional Costa Rican wealth”. This musical instrument is transcendental for the culture,crafts and history of Costa Rica, especially in the area of ​​Guanacaste and Puntarenas (Central Pacific), although the tradition of this instrument extends throughout the country.
