    Man. Scotty I gotta tell you this: most people just show me how to craft, but you taught me how to improvize. Since I am not in America, I don't have the same materials. However, I keep scavenging and finding little things that can be other things when painted. Thanks so much for that

    A simple trick for putting stuff on your table is to use a piece of card stock that simulates the top of the table, furniture, ect with objects glued to it. That way, you can swap them out easy and the stuff dosen't knock over or need to be set up each time. The same table can be used for people eating, playing cards, having documents spread out or you can leave it empty.

    Hey Scotty, I’ve been crafting for a year and a half now and coming back to furniture when I found your video. I was preparing to do some intricate thing out of all the different pieces of wood, but your stuff in this video is so simple and good looking and I have to wonder if I wanna do with the long way or the faster way and still have satisfying results either way.

    • @theDMsCraft
      @theDMsCraft  Před 2 lety +1

      My take is that if it looks good and you take short cuts I will always take the shortcut. Also remember that the way you see minis and terrain in closeup is not the way people see them at the table. They are sitting 2-3 feet away and the human eye can only see so much detail at that range.

  • @dcernach
    @dcernach Před 6 lety +11

    You should have put a door on the left side for the upper half.
    No one ever puts drawers above chest height, waist height is the typical max height you will ever see a drawer.

    • @robrocksea
      @robrocksea Před 5 lety

      usually true but even old cabinets will have head height+ drawers, rooms were small so space was needed, normally used stackable 2pc units with one set drawers(bottom) open/door cabinet top

  • @Kragar01
    @Kragar01 Před 6 lety

    These are also handy if you just keep some of them flat black. That way if you need something you haven’t made yet, like a door, a bed, an alter or whatever you can stack or lay them down in different ways and improvise what they are supposed to represent then you at least have something physical on the table. (Also good to simulate internal walls)

    DMScotty is out of ideas so no person ever! Just when I think you've got to be at the end of ideas, you come up with ideas like this that are simple, functional, AND look good. Yes, the minimalism makes it fit into any scenario and possible to use over and over.
    Frankly, I am just floored with your ideas and none of them ever really require anything expensive. Furniture, as a subset of dungeon dressing, can be a struggle and the usual way to mitigate means $$$.
    Please consider making a vid or two with room/dungeon setups with a combo of the many items you've made. Reference the videos to these in the notes below. Anyway, some food for thought that'd be very useful and tie in this video and many others, even some from long ago.

      Can also use them as stoppers for potion bottles made from larger beads Can use them as apples or vegtables use a thin piece of paper or thread jammed in them painted green to add to the effect.
