i love this!! i always say "what?!" so this is awesome. thank you so much for doing this. i've always wanted to learn sign language, and these videos are really helpful.
Thanks for your explanations. I like that you show the different versions. I'm learning the BIM version, so there are some similarities with ASL, i.e. the 'what' in BIM is the one you refer to as the older version. Glad that you break them out into different little video with in depth descriptions. Keep them coming, please!!! great stuff!
Thank for your sharing !!! I really like these beautiful language~ I just found how amazing it is yesterday, because of one American tv drama "switch at birth" ! There are some characters of deaf people in it.The part I like is the story of a girl, who is a hearing and a boy, who is a deaf.Love the way they communicate! I'm just falling with these series. Don't know whether you know about this drama but you gonna like it !!!it's really touching and beautiful!
Omg i knew the grandma what....im 26 i learned it in high school and im surprised that theres a new what. Omgosh so much more to learn! Love the are you serious/ huh version! Thanks
Really nice! I am a beginner and I think you are a great teacher. I try to be a very good student so I pay attention and I can tell you have the patience and detail to do this better than any other 'school videos with some Ray teacher guy'. Keep up the good work and truly THANK YOU
Good video. Could I add another sign to your grouping here? The sign 'where' that you explain in another video is also commonly used idiomatically to mean 'huh?' or 'what are you all talking about?' or 'what's going on? (in a conversation)'; it's also used for the concept of "what' in phrases like 'what year?' It's a good little idiomatic usage to know.
I Am a beginner and your videos really help! sence i'm new i don't know if you ever did a video but can you do a video of saying, "Hello How Are You Doing Tonight?" Thank you if you did i appreciate it!
I don’t know if I’m doing this correctly- if I am - you are awesome ! My wife and I want the learn ASL. - I am a Police Officer and I do encounter deaf people that I deal with - I have deaf family members from when I was very young but I never learned - I wished I would’ve learned - now I would love to be a person to be able to communicate with my deaf community - is there anything or a program where I could learn basic sign to help my community. Thanks for your time
@@MaybeThisIsWhat what solution would work best? Should I just grow them out? I often have issues hearing because of tinnitus and in general, my hearing has always been lacking, even before the accident that caused me this incessant noise. Because I have some hearing I never thought of this issue until I began ASL.
interesting content teachmesignlanguage. I smashed the thumbs up on your video. Always keep up the wonderful work.

When would you use the old sign for "what"?

I'm trying to teach my daughter "what's that" but I'm struggling to find anything to make sure I'm doing it right.
does anyone know if i can use the newer “what” to sign “what’s your motive?”
How do you say and in sign
.
How do you say “about” in asl?
How can i say ‘my name is…’
I know the old what, the second one you showed

Quick question for anyone who can answer it. I have bangs, my eyebrows may not be visible 100%, will that be an issue as I progress in my ASL?
Yes, Eyebrows are huge grammar pieces when interpreting what someone means in asl and may cause confusion depending on who you talk too.

I'm just curious as to why you're learning ASL and what your connection is? Everyone has a story.
