I love how short it is. Did s phenomenal job on it. I'm planning on doing my new Yoshimura TRC Polished Stainless pipe in winter and taking it to work. We have a mig and tig at work
i know Im randomly asking but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Anderson Iker I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
wow that sounds a lot better cant wait to hear mine i just put it on and had to go take a shower to get off all this fiber glass lol im about to go start er up and see if its much louder i basically cut mine almost in half
Matt Mladen used to have his mufflers cut down until Ben Spies ended his cherry picking career in the AMA! He didn't want to hear how close his competition was getting.
I tried filling the holes of the inside of the muffler with hi-temp silicone. I put a piece of thick plastic on the end of a wooden stick so that I could apply it through the back of the muffler. I guess I didn't let it dry or the carbon would not let it stick. When my buddy's and I stopped for fuel at a gas station, a friend said look your exhaust it's smoking. The smoke was coming out of the exhaust just like when smoke comes out of a firearm just after its been fired. Everyone was laughing, I had to confess, and it just made them laugh more. One said, You need to stop messing with your bike before you burn it to the ground. All the silicone disappeared into a cloud of smoke, none is left. I gave a shot, ohh well.
Andrew S I don't have the tools. . Another thought was to remove the installed silencer and customize it to be removable , I met a guy who did this on his Hayabusa yoshimuras sounded good.
PeteyPablo ahh okay, yea thats one way you could do it if you heard it before and it sounds good... I should start modifying other riders exhaust in the winter time side jobs lol
awesome job! but sounds to me like its a little bit too short.. sounds like it lack a little back pressure.. not sure though not an expert, but i have an idea it does.. but who cares it sounds awesome !!! :D
+87greengolfer of course less material to hold up the exhaust preesure. u just have to rev more to create more exhaust gas. this can work well on r6, cause all the power is around 9-10krpm .
Demonichellfighter I have an SV650 with a similar sounding stubby pipe. "sporty" gets old pretty quick. I enjoy the "road racey" sound much more than the banal scream of a regular pipe.

Matt Mladen used to have his mufflers cut down until Ben Spies ended his cherry picking career in the AMA! He didn't want to hear how close his competition was getting.

Love thy neighbour. Bet they all smile when you walk past.
Sounds good! Make a video at night so we can see flames coming out the exhaust.
+T Le never thought of that, wish i could I actually sold the bike back in January
👍👍 hell yea
Sounds hella good wish I could cut down my Yoshimura Rs4 a little.
PeteyPablo why cant you? lol

Andrew S Yup that would help other like myself who can't do it themselves since you did such a great job at it .
PeteyPablo Thanks man, wish I could help you out
I need to chop my stock exhaust it's ridiculously long n heavy n quiet
I have a tutorial on this channel
@@AndrewwDrums duh

Hey man, did you keep the packing and baffle in when you cut this? Doing the same project. Curious
I did a tutorial as well for this mod czcams.com/video/yJSR7ofDJXA/video.html
How long did it take you to do? I have an R1 with the long can, that I been wanting to do this to.
Same here dude, those stock cans are huge
Michael McCormick I tend to bullshit around when Im working on projects for myself lol, I think I finished in 2 hours
R1 Rookie I tend to bullshit around when Im working on projects for myself lol, I think I finished in 2 hours
sounds awesome. I know a little about motorcycles but do you know if a szuki R125125cc engine will make similar hight pitch sound?
+Car Guy I do not know
It will not, this is a four cylinder bike. 125's are usually 1-2 cylinders
it sure got louder. what is the advantages and disadvantages using full pipe vs shorty. any performance changes
Only advantage is sound. I have heard you do loose a little performance. back pressure or what not.
+87greengolfer of course less material to hold up the exhaust preesure. u just have to rev more to create more exhaust gas. this can work well on r6, cause all the power is around 9-10krpm .
nice much better
did cutting it short affect the back pressure? i want to cut mine 2-3 inches shorter.
11idaman My bike runs fine, I haven't noticed a change
Thanks for the vid. (45mph, lol)
It deff sounds angry
It got some more power too
Andrew S No it didn't
What exactly did u do to modify it? I have mine cut in half now but not sure if I need or remove all the packing or some of it
Hey , I made a tutorial video step by step on how I did this, click the link.
czcams.com/video/yJSR7ofDJXA/video.html
Hey the jam nut for your rear brake is loose....
Yea I know, never affected the brakes though. I don't own this bike anymore
Is this muffler packed or unpacked after you cut it?
Packed
Thanks man. Literally did this yesterday and your quick reply was perfect ! Ride safe brother
@@Mike-mf4tk No problem man, you too.. I actually sold this motorcycle 4 years ago. I currently don't have one
What tools did you use to cut it
+michael alonso Cut off wheel on a die grinder
what year is your bike?
2004
No it didn't and it sounds far worse
Sounds raspier, not a fan, sounds less sporty lol.
Demonichellfighter I have an SV650 with a similar sounding stubby pipe. "sporty" gets old pretty quick. I enjoy the "road racey" sound much more than the banal scream of a regular pipe.
To each their own I am not a huge fan of it prefer the original sound of it I don't think I will be doing that to my Yosh after hearing this
is this the k4 or k5 model ?
k4
Appreciate, thx mate Andrew S
no problem
