I’m 9 years old and really want to start a band with me, my dad, and my brother my dad playing bass mainly me mainly playing drums and my brother playing guitar mainly and I would mainly be on vocal and I want to cover this song.

As someone has been drumming for over 35 years, I absolutely love this. There's no doubt the skills are 100%, but as a drummer, what I love is how much fun you're having. The smiling, the swaying, you're feeling the grove. I also like the kind of side of side arm attack on some of the high hat parts. Keep up the great work, and keep enjoying what you're doing!!
Part of the 'secret sauce' of Van Halens groove, is the amazing connection between guitar and drums. Typically, its bass and drums. But not in Van Halen. That doesn't mean Michael was a slouch, it just means the rhythm guitar and drums drove the song, with bass reinforcing. And yes, Alex is a legend.
I love this fucking intro to the song! It sounds like a tribal drum beat and when the guitar kicks in! This song gives me energy! I wanna learn to play this one day on drums

You could be forgiven for taking some liberties with some of the paradiddles in the beginning, but to my ear this was literally note for note. Awesome job. 👏
This is the 3rd video I've watched of this guy. I trust that he's exactly on tempo. (which is awesome by the way.) I've heard "Hot for Teacher" plenty of times. I guess I never noticed how fast the drum track is!
i need to get back to reading drum music, i learned when i was young then promptly stopped in my mid 20s. i got heavily back into playing again now in my early 40s and i'm getting good again, but i'm at a wall. probably that and more practice. i just can't figure out the bass drum pattern trying to play along with you. anyway have a great day!
