    interesting, lots of people are doing this, I am using the apex pro mini with the magnetic switches. I love it, this is probably the best price for one of these. many of my friends are in the market for a new keyboard, and i'm gonna start recommending this.

      Awesome, thanks for watching! I hope it works out for any of your friends that get it. Unfortunately I didn't have any magnetic switch keyboards to compare it to so I thought it was great. Then again so are Steelseries products.

      Consider the Steelseries Apex Pro. It's cheaper than the Wooting 60HE and has less latency than the Razer (14ms vs 40ms).

      @@MoonRiderTech As far as magnetic switches are concerned, it's as good as any other you'll find out there.
      Evidently, just having a magnetic switch isn't enough reason for some keyboards, especially all plastic build, wired-only ones to be as expensive as they are especially in the 60% space/market.....$65 ($55 atm) vs more than a hundred dollars more is plenty crazy.

    In my region, the k617 fizz is a mechanical red switch keyboard, while the hall effect version is named k683 m61 fidd. The m61 have xda keycaps and different housing. This confuses me a bit when looking up the keyboard in my region. Btw great video 👌

    Regarding the arrow key situation;
    Yes, unfortunately, you either get the WASD, the secondary function style, or none 💀. This particular chassis used on the fizz only ever has that on the WASD keys, and this is regardless of if it's a Redragon Keyboard or by some other kb from much smaller brands using the same chassis from the chassis OEM.
    Just something to watch out for. The style is usually always stated or indicated by most on their product page.

    if anyone wants to try and buy a cheap magnetic keyboard, i would suggest drunkdeer g65 instead of this.. dd g65 maybe 2x the price but its one of the most decent, affordable magnetic keyboard currently.

    Thank you for the review!
    I just have a question, for the RGB options in the software, can you actually setup two different colors for the effects? For example, in the breathing effect, there's an option that says top color and another for bottom color, so,can you set up pink for top and teal for bottom?

    • @MoonRiderTech
      @MoonRiderTech  Před 24 dny

      Thanks for asking, I hadn't noticed that before so I tested it out. When using it in breathing it will breathe once in pink then separately in teal and cycle between the two. Meanwhile effects like radar, wave, twinkle, and some others do let you use pink and teal (or any other color combos) simultaneously and it looks pretty cool! Make sure to uncheck "Full Color".

    • @MoonRiderTech
      @MoonRiderTech  Před 6 měsíci

      I haven’t but I never do a lot of customization or let assignments on my boards. What keys have you tried to set to Fn later? As for profiles, I tried checking them out. Mine works but I’m not sure the extent. For instance, I can check out uncheck different boxes under Performance and those selections will apply only to that profile. Same with assigning text, which you select 7 over from the Type selections under Key Custom. I can assign text to a key and it will only apply to that profile. Other things like trigger settings or DKS assignments don’t seem to be profile specific though.

    • @t1m467
      @t1m467 Před 6 měsíci

      Just simple keys like Arrow keys close to the FN key so I can use them with one hand but they don't seem to work for me, I tried setting them on the I J K and L keys.
      Profile wise it seems to me that everytime I create and edit a specific profile, it changes it for all profiles, like I want a gaming and typing profile, but I try to change the keystroke and rapid trigger settings for the typing profile but it also does the same changes on the gaming profile. Its not that big of a deal but just a little niche thats kinda annoying me rn.
      Thanks for replying btw.

      @@t1m467 That’s a good idea but yeah too bad it isn’t allowing it. I just went back into the software to try it under remap and key combo. Sucks for key combo it only accepts shift, control, alt, etc but not function. I, J, K and L would be a decent spot to remap the arrow keys.
      And yeah sucks important things like trigger settings saved under profiles. Doesn’t seem much a point in using profiles.

    • @MoonRiderTech
      @MoonRiderTech  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Good news I found a workaround! Under Senior Keys select MT at the top then create. 2 boxes should appear: Hold and Click. Set your arrow key to hold and I, J, K, or L to click. Adjust the Hold Duration slider to adjust from 150 - 1000ms. Then go back to Key Custom > Senior Key and assign the corresponding MT# to the matching I, J, K, L key and download.
      We have working arrow keys and we bypassed Fn! 👍

      @@MoonRiderTech great attitude and appreciate the help. So I been looking at switch, and now I have this apart (I'm doing tempest's tape mod and adding switch pads and some foam to the case), and I feel like these would fit other HE switches, like Jades or the Leakers in Wooting. While Redragon's switch is flat, the PCB seems to have the holes for the "anchors" I see on other HE switches. I thought maybe cutting em off would be needed... Do you have any other HE switches to see if they'd work? I'm even wondering if that flat bottom actually is hitting the PCB with every click, adding to that really clacky sound

    • @MoonRiderTech
      @MoonRiderTech  Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@Koyote2033Unfortunately I don't. This was my first foray into HE switches. I'd be curious to find out if it could be done though since Redragon say "not hot swappable" - but is that due to the board itself or due to the switch's design.
      As for the flat bottom hitting the PCB, I can see the plastic sleeve surrounding the magnet is just a hair past the bottom of the switch casing when fully pressed. And I circular marks on the PCB about the same size as that pink sleeve. So I think that plastic sleeve is making contact with the PCB.
