They are extremely diverse and have an extensive 10 year back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and bad-ass musicians to boot. They are currently celebrating their 10th anniversary with the original line up.

Old metalhead here, for over 50 years. Band-Maid is extremely talented, every lady in this band. They have gone to the top of my most played list to accompany bands like Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, FooFighters, Def Leppard..and others. The only thing wrong with Band-Maid is that they haven't gotten the attention they deserve. I especially like 'Moratorium', it goes pretty hard. Great one to review 👍👍

The singer, Saiki, said recently that they love seeing the expression on peoples' faces when they _expect_ one thing and _get_ something else. Yes, they are a serious band. Every one of them intended to make their career in music. They weren't necessarily sure _this_ band would be what it turned out to be, but they were committed to playing music for a living. If you want to see them live, look for "Band-Maid - Dice & Hate? at Lollapalooza 2023." A thing about the maid outfits, Mr. Bunny: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids. Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid are THE best Hard Rock band on Earth. Though the band members can often be very kawaii, their music is not. Japanese female bands are making all the best Rock and Metal for the 21st century - try Nemophila or Lovebites for the best Metal.

@@crazykosmikbunny Honestly I think their latest work can be defined more in line with traditional Heavy Metal, but apparently a lot of the younger generations think that Metalcore is the entirety of Metal and anything with less screamy voices is just Hard Rock.
Well it was nearly 4 years ago and they've since become more progressive, technical, chaotic and faster in a way that can be a bit too much for me at times. I often play my B-M dedicated playlist on shuffle so it keeps me happy everyday.
Kawai'i is an inappropriate label for Band Maid.They transcend such a description. Their genre is "Band Maid". Baby Metal deserves the kawai'i appelation.

I don’t understand where’s so called kawai. For me it’s hard rock with strong metal and punk presence. If it’s kawai I’m ok with that. Some maids songs are pure rocknroll with bluesy elements, like Anemone.

The Maids SOLD OUT 2023 US & Mexico tour wrapped up and was a fantastic success. And so many great live fancams to watch! Their playing and antics were as fresh and fun to experience from first show to last. BRAVO Band-Maid!!!!! In addition, their Japan tour finished up with 13 concerts, AND they’re writing and recording for their new album. Their 10th Anniversary Tour concluded at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023 and in Hong Kong Dec. 21!

A thing about the maid outfits, Mr. Bunny: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids.
Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!
Oh I didn’t mean that it looks ridiculous to me, i meant for many people it looks stupid and they don’t pay attention to music. I’m open minded and i think band image is very important.

I love this band, they are outstanding performers and their music is incredible... but who says they play metal (aside from some riffs here and there), jeez, I wouldn't even classify them as hard rock.

Band-Maid are THE best Hard Rock band on Earth. Though the band members can often be very kawaii, their music is not. Japanese female bands are making all the best Rock and Metal for the 21st century - try Nemophila or Lovebites for the best Metal.
Thank you. I don't care if it's metal or not, i just like music :) Although mostly it metal but i never disregard any band or singer just because they're not metal.
@@crazykosmikbunny Honestly I think their latest work can be defined more in line with traditional Heavy Metal, but apparently a lot of the younger generations think that Metalcore is the entirety of Metal and anything with less screamy voices is just Hard Rock.

Nope, Band-Maid is not a choreographed kawaii metal band. Idol dancers need not apply. Just pretty women making beautiful music.
Well it was nearly 4 years ago and they've since become more progressive, technical, chaotic and faster in a way that can be a bit too much for me at times. I often play my B-M dedicated playlist on shuffle so it keeps me happy everyday.

There is no such thing as kawaii metal
I don’t understand where’s so called kawai. For me it’s hard rock with strong metal and punk presence. If it’s kawai I’m ok with that. Some maids songs are pure rocknroll with bluesy elements, like Anemone.
