Our 2003 and beyond lancers are not of that heavy build. We can feel the difference from the weight of the bonnet and doors, and it is one of the reason for less milage from lancers. It is meant for built and performance and to last for long period, not for milage.

First thing Papper FC should be in current because for more than 15 yrs old older vehicles the Govt has stopped to provide the FC so very important and In Terms of Mechanical engine should be in mint condition though you're going for petrol so pls check the engine is converted or not and next is chassis & Body parts check the under body very important next is suspension and exhaust due to lower ground clearance usually suspension won't bottom out easily but still check exhaust and OE pipes are changed or not pls check i think I have covered most of the important points incase or any doubt pls feel free to ping me in my Instagram thank you for your comments keep supporting ☺️🙏

Lancer Diesel or Petrol, which is best in terms of maintenance and mileage?
Since both are good in terms of performance but when it comes to petrol it's easy and simple as like bike just need to change the oil filter and oil nothing much spare you required for service 😁👍

Hii bro yah even I have the same doubt but so far in my recent analysis wht the mechanic and existing user says they don't use much this car only occasionally they use it due to its low end mileage and what mechanic says this may get reset sometimes due to old odometer technology may be they don't go beyond 2L they come to zero once they crossed 2L km running those times in 90s 20s car usually don't go more than 2L so the manufacturing company may set the odo kilometres not more than 2L this may be the reason I guess so am not sure this was shared by the ex Mitsubishi Mechanic thank you for your comments keep supporting 😁🙏

Diesel is better i have a friend who work only lancer diesel, once fully restored it goes miles without overhauling say 3 to 4 lakh kms, most reliable like toyota
Brother it's a common thing that's Petrol engine is more reliable than diesel it's common for any IC engine vehicle and more over in this case diesel spare is bit tough to get in market compare to petrol that i don't point against for diesel in Lancer may be it gives good mileage for few people and may be reliable for them

Still running like new yah though it's a bit tough to arrange the spares but few retailers still exist who sell old cars spare both new as well as old parts taken from scrap cars and yah am the 5th owner for this car and it was completely lite used car the previous owner wants to sell this due to low milege because it's really tougher to get mileage in city bumper to bumper traffic but later I bought and did few services and tuned the carburettor throttle body now am getting good mileage and mostly I use my car in highway rather than city traffic thank you for your comments keep supporting ☺️🙏
