Maserati GranTurismo Sport Review: Road Trip Cannes to Paris

- This is my first proper test drive and user review of my 2013 Maserati GranTurismo Sport filmed in France.
The insane exhaust is coming from an upgraded Ferrari-Maserati 4.7L naturally aspirated F136 Y engine with a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission making 444HP and 510 Nm (376 lbft) of torque at 4,750 RPM running 0-100 km/h in 4.4s.
As I have had experience with this car for 4 years and used it in everyday life, I tried my best to put some useful tips, information and problems about this car, as well as some beautiful scenery shots of Paris and good music.

ICE button is the winter mode, it starts at 2nd gear and and shifts gears earlier... up to 3000 rpm I think, you can also use it for fuel safe if there is a Maserati owner who care about the fuel consumption :)
Benzinio never knew about that, but how does lower RPM help with riding on Ice?
Egor Gizatullin The idea is to put less power on the wheels to prevent slip. At 4-5000 rpm this engine produce a lot of torque, If I remember it correctly the pick torque was over 4500 rpm. In slippery conditions it might be too much comparing to the grip you have.
Roughly, If we accept that atmosphere engine have rather linear torque curve at 3000 rpm there will be about the half of what the engine produce.
It start at 2nd gear which is pretty much the opposite of what low gear at off-rowders does - low gears at off-road doubles the engine power transferred to the wheels, so starting at second you loose some of the power transferred to the wheels.
Both things combined helps you to keep traction on ice and snow.

The Ice button changes gears automatically at about 2500-3000 which, effectively, is economical control …

There are 2 buttons where you open the car. 1 manual ( when battery runs out)2- electronic

Автомобиль конечно же крутой, а выхлопная система как рычит, просто улёт, но кнопка багажника подкачала), и на таких авто что то да ломается, но это мелочи!

What flaws other then an out dated infotainment system. These cars are a bargain on the used market. Not worth it buying a new one though.

I had one last year and i love the sound so much which is the reason i bought it but it is really not fast and doesnt feel quick when you floor it. It is a nice gt but would only buy the facelift 2017 with new sat nav the old one is pure crap
pepsicola true, it is more for the looks and the sound. Italians are not very good with multimedia...
I wouldn't call 0-60 in 4.4 slow. It's not supercar fast and that's not the point of the car anyways.

As far as I remember it was around 800km. Took us 10 hours with stops.

I dont know the name of the color sorry, 2013 was a long time ago when the car was bought. Yes you can put a 2013 body-kit on to a pre-restyle Granturismo, the bumpers, alloys and exhaust. Only had 1 problem with the engine coolant since 5 years.

мне двор понравился, закрытый, чистый, ухоженный, плохо, что зелени нет. 30 000 пробега, а водительское сиденье потерто как половая тряпка.

People go on about how shit the Sat Nav and multimedia is in the Granturismo but when it was released in 2007, it was a pretty good system even if it was Citroën based. Arguably it shouldn't have taken 10 years to replace the Sat Nav with a newer system in the Granturismo but the Graphics and resolution aren't that bad (particularly compared to other cars of the period) and it can be updated to 2017 maps. I've seen and experienced a lot, lot worse!
The Sat Nav in Audi's, Jag's and even BMW's of that generation were absolute fucking horseshit. My Father in Law has an X Type from 2007 and the jerky Sat Nav is absolutely catastrophic with diabolically low resolution and aliasing everywhere as a consequence. It's also horrendously out of date. Updates for that Sat Nav finished in 2011 if I remember correctly.
Anyway, with apps like Waze and Google Maps, I never use the SatNav in the cars, no matter how good it is. Just the actual system, lack of BT music etc is a bit dated for a 2013 model.
