    Fantastic first part of the interview! The flow was disrupted for me however during the last 20-30min during the bit about not taking oneself too seriously and the spectrum of confrontation where it seemed like Justin was trying to convince Bernardo its okay to be fiery and that it would help him in the future after Bernardo implied he felt no need to be that way anymore because he has otherwise matured and doesn’t take himself so seriously as to warrant that kind of way of being. Seemed like a significant window of time in which some deeper psychological transference took over and became less an exploration and more Justin trying to save Bernardo the ego 😂 perhaps it was seemingly disruptive because I’m looking in a mirror 😅Anyways, not to take away from the value of this wonderful interview, I’m looking forward to pt 2!

    • @ideacastilluminate
      @ideacastilluminate  Před rokem +1

      In hindsight, you are right as I can see it as two confrontation junkies sorting out that terrain. I will likely never mature away from confrontational behavior, only aspire to bring it out only when it is needed, (maturity?😉) which is what I intended in that tete a tete within a dialogue. I hope part two bears some fruit for you and thanks for watching and commenting!

    My only question or thought is that Bernardo talks about how evolution is driven by fitness and I think that’s an assumption we make when studying evolution. Evolution is change and growth and expansion but I think natural selection does not necessarily mean “fitness.”

    I love Bernardo, no one is better at giving a naturalist description of the divinity that suits our 21st century views. However, once we acknowledge the universe is mental, naturalism goes out the window. We are trying to explain the one-mind in terns our our extreamly limited 3d dimensional dashboard and it just seems insufficient. When we turn to introspection as Bernardo suggests, or even to near death experiences, language is almost always described as inadequate. Bernardo says the divinity isn't "metaconcios" or "good" but love and goodness are almost universally reported in these experiences.

  • @theideallinewithsahan

    I think you hit the nail when you asked why does other intellectuals accept Bernardo's reasoning but doesn't accept his conclusions, or does not even consider it.
    I think they should be able to consider it as a logical way even if they do not invest in it intellectually. Being unable to see this is very hard for me as a viewer. McGilchrists writes wonderfully and says he doesn't want to go there. ? What does this mean? I don't want to be a nitpicker but the topic usually ends there. I don't hear an argument or consideration to satisfy me. (Same goes for John Vervaeke and several others. The only exception is Chris Langan, and we know how it ended up)
    I also think Bernardo has a bit much humility when he says scientists shouldn't embrace analytic idealism. We don't event see these brilliant people following the logic and considering the possibility, I think one should be able to say: "I see where you are going, that makes sense and it should be logically true (or untrue), I have a feeling that this is the way it is (or isn't)". Then making science is another thing. I think this should be more than enough.

    I would put it, linguistically, that the idea of an instrument as observer or person as observer, is not-two; that humans can be understood to be instuments of (as) consciousness/the teriritory/divine mind and therefore instruments/observers/measurers/perceivers/etc are all the same 'thing' with the vocabulary being more about context than anything else.
    In other words, beauty is in the I of the be holder.

      Agreed. One of the best, funnest interviews with BK I’ve watched. Saw an honest human side we don’t normally get to see. Just dial back the self depreciation, it comes off as something you need to do, more than sincere. And it’s frequency derails the convo a tad.
      Think of this as a Dutch comment, lol.

    • @ideacastilluminate
      @ideacastilluminate  Před rokem +2

      @@gkannon77 I fully agree, the at times performative self-deprecation is a defensive move as a result of a comment or two from a previous interview with BK wherein folks were criticizing my input as punching above my weight. I indulged myself in a bit of padding in this one. I'm also a bit of a class clown and I don't mind taking cheap shots at myself to amuse people. It's a kind of a Rodney Dangerfield thing. Hopefully it wasn't too off-putting, I do care about how I handle public discourse. Anyway, I do appreciate the Dutch feedback, I strive to grow.
