  • An explore walk on Coldharbour Moor. This is an area of Bleaklow few hikers visit.
I wanted to check out some features I’d seen from a distance and to investigate something I’d seen on old maps.
The walk took me to Lordship Hill with its ruggedly dramatic views, and down the wild and pretty Birchen Orchard Clough with its small waterfalls and fairy pools.
Join me on this adventure as I investigate historic features and come across some unusual sights…

Hi Kevin! Another great adventure, we caught up last night after arriving home yesterday from the wonderful Peak District. Thank goodness you found your phone 🙈 I think those fairies were playing tricks on you 😂. As for those grouse butt's and benches - they looked like 5 star dining spots in the middle of the moors. I also like bothys and old ruins we have in the past visited the Oyster clough shooting cabin, but never got in to sign the book - that's a story for another time. Have you visited 3 Jack's cabin ruins at the top of Grindsbrook on Kinder? To update you on our trip we arrived Sunday and visited Totley Moor trig, fantastic views into the Peak District from here! On Monday we parked at Bowden Bridge car park and walked up William Clough, Ashop Head onto the Kinder plateu along to the downfall, we then dropped down just after Red Brook walked through Cluther Rocks and onto Broad Clough and back to the car park. We have some awesome photo's and drone footage. It's been 14 years since we last done that walk and the children done really well. Yesterday before we came home we popped to Castleton. We are coming back in three weeks and would like to find the Dog Stone at Cluther Rocks, we were really close to it, but didn't look for it as time was getting on. That and the Aztec rock on Kinder could be video ideas for you. Thank you for your video as usual, I believe it actually didn't rain for once 😂.

Were playing tricks as when I found the phone it was lying on the ground where I’d walked up and down multiple times looking for it. I think they were just having a bit of fun though as I got the phone back without a scratch (I don’t know how I didn’t step on it) 😂 thanks for the walk suggestions- I’ll add them to my list. It sounds like you had a great time in the PD with some great walks. Your kids did very well with the kinder scout walk as that’s a tough route! Pity you didn’t find dog stone, maybe you can find it next time. My next video is something special- I hope you enjoy it. All the best Kevin
