    Total Expense = $1,430
    Survival Possible? Yes
    For Couple:
    Total earning after-tax = $3,998 (15% tax. link below)
    Total Expense = $2,830
    Survival Possible? Yes
For Family (3) with one working for 40hrs and other working for 60 hrs:

Canadian born and raised. If you have room mates, you can survive on the minimum wage in Canada. Also, if you have good work ethic, DO NOT SETTLE FOR LESS THAN $16. I live in fort st john bc, I work in natural gas energy, I make 23.50/hour, I work 60 hours a week and take home roughly $6000/month, I live in a 3 bedroom rental that costs me 1600/month and I'm on 53 private acres of land, 15 minute drive from Walmart out in the country. Also, I drive a beater minivan and my insurance is $56/month, but I also have a 55% discount and my vehicle is not insured if the accident is my fault. If you live in a town with more than 100,000 people, you can safely rely on transit.

Wonderful job indeed. Thanks for all the break-up of income & expenses but I would have appreciated more had you encouraged new arrivals to be conservative, at least during their studies. After all, Canadian govt has fixed per month GIC @ 667/- after due deliberations. So students should restrict their budget to the monthly GIC release and should clear off their debt whatsoever, if any, by their monthly income. They should develop saving habits and making investment, however small may be, at their early age to generate a good corpus. I may sound from an old school but believe me, it's easy to go extravagant but very difficult to curtail.

This may have been true when the video was made however, in 2021-2022 this is very hard. I aim paying $1800 rent in Ottawa for 2 bhk and I am struggling to keep my monthly expense le to $3600. I don’t even have a car. Inflation has skyrocketed and our lifestyle is very modest

Hi Sahil, hope you are doing good, If I may ask you this question of mine, while submitting express entry profile, the family members section say select the total number of family members and this doesnt mean all of the family members would accompany with primary applicant. But eligibility for express entry is said as not eligible, its only eligible when the 3 family members amount is updated. So my question is if I update 1 family member then would it create issue in future as my family will not be coming once NOI is received. They would come at later point in time.
