I've been really critical of this guy in the past. I have made comments on his other videos that would be considered negative maybe, but DAMN!, when you look like SRV, sing like SRV, and play like SRV....I guess you really can't help but TO play the part! I consider myself a huge SRV fan too. Respect. If I had the money, I'd cast him in the greatest Stevie bio-pic ever made!
I hope Jimmie's watching this guy, cause if SRV was my brother, and I knew that one day a movie would be made about him, this is the guy! He one of the only performers that get anywhere close to a Stevie tribute.
I grew up with this bbking on vinyl in my dads collection and it was what inspired myself at 6 years old to start playing. Found Stevie at 11 years old and like Tommy, was obsessed with his sound. Funny I always wanted to hear SRV do this song. Then it was bootlegged. Funny that Tommy probably heard SRV do it first. Hungary is Hungry for the blues! Wish Americans still responded like this to good blues.
Tommy, you're an amazing player. You took the SRV legacy and made it your own. Not an easy task to accomplish. In other words, you're one of the very few lucky ones who were gifted with the Mojo. On another note, that drummer behind you is too bloody annoying. He's suppose to support and complement you and not compete with you. He should learn a thing or two from Chris "Whipper" Layton. If he wants to showcase his hard drumming skills, he should play with a Robin Trower style blues rock band where this style of playing is appropriate.
Awesome player but i always feel like he is not taking his time enough, sometimes it seems like he knows the lick he is gonna play and therefore does it too fast taking the timing away. But that might be just my opinion.
Tommy is The Best...
Nobody can get closer of The SRV tones, playing and voice, as He can!
Perfect!
Great playing awesome voice.
