Well, that's probably the truth in bad weather deployments.. so, unfortunately ive decided after 40 years of Trucking im switching careers to Auto Adjusting...got tired of heavy trucking, and I've got my 620 all lines now but have not learned anything yet on writing claimes... so another $3500 and ill learn that ... apprently the 2 years experience gets waived by going to this particular school so long as people keep wrecking cars and big trucks ill have decent amounts work... a bit of a gamble ... 😊
Thats crazy to hear. I guess the life of an IA gets harder when the housing market is about to collapse😢. No reason to quit trying tho. I thought the market was good bc The local adjusters i know were all making bank off of hurricane idalia when it hit my town. I hope shit gets better.
It's got nothing to do with the housing market in my opinion. It's more that some of the major carriers are cutting down on using IAs especially for desk work. Not sure how long it'll last though the industry moves in cycles. There's still IA work available but it's harder to get.
I just turned 17 years old so I can't get any licences but I can sure study. I want to get into doing properties (on the field) like my dad once did as a public adjuster (I don't care whether I'm public or independent I just need to get payed). I'm already learning how to use xactimate but I need a better way to gather the prior knowledge to succeed by the time I'm 18. Can you give me some advice on what courses I need to get?
@@The_philosophical_cockroach staff is working directly with for the insurance company. You’re only employed with them could be SF, all state etc. and independent is when you’re like a temporary employee you work with insurance companies under INDEPENDENT ADJUSTER (IA) firms. The firms have contacts with the insurance companies and you work with those companies through the firms until they don’t need you anymore. Staff stays on with their companies permanently.
I'll suggest you go staff field as soon as you are old enough. Travelers has a good training program. Spend 5 years learning everything about residential adjusting (including large loss) and commercial property. After you get good at field adjusting, you may then become an IA. One of the reasons many IAs are unemployed right now is because many are not good at adjusting, scoping, estimating nor policy interpretation. Also, when you are staff, the insurance company pays for your licenses. P.S don't tell people you became a staff adjuster to get training for your future IA plan. Good luck.
I don't know you to refer you but if you want to send me info or have a call I can see what I can do. Send email to shameen.indyadjuster@gmail. com with resume and contact info included please.
@@ShameenYakubu its not going lol, still studying but I have a clear plan, working on getting certifications. I dont know how but the #IA community Im a part of collectively decided to migrate careers. Lord know Im not renewing 88% of these licences
