    Great video! I found the duo very interesting. I am interested in recording drum covers to Drumless tracks. Is it possible to use the duo with two drum mics, one condenser mic overhead and one bass drum mic? I would have it running into my iPhone 11 to record video. Is it then possible to plug-in another device such as an iPhone or iPod with the Drumless Track that I want to record to? Would this then record to the video camera as you were doing? Also would I be able to take the completed audio and run it through a music editing program such as Audacity? Usually the drum track would need some compression and possibly reverb. Do you think this would work?

    Hi, thanks for the video. I've been looking into the duo but I have a quick question. If I record two inputs (such as a vocal mic and a guitar) directly into the two inputs, when recording with the camera app on the iPhone, would that make the guitar on one side and the vocal on the other (stereo wise) or will the two inputs be blended for the recorded video? Thanks for the help -Dex Star

    • @TrueSoundTV
      @TrueSoundTV  Před 7 lety

      DEX STAR DRUMMER so it depends on the way you start recording. I think because this unit wasn't necessarily ment to record with video, if the video starts recording with a stereo signal it will record with input 1 to the left and input 2 to the right (in stereo). If the video starts with a mono signal like a guitar or vocal, it generally records as input 1 and 2 as mono audio (in the center). I'm assuming the iRig or the iPhone automatically picks the audio style (mono or stereo) based on the signal it gets. At this point, this is the best way I know to record in mono or stereo without the use of a mixer. Thanks!

  • @CreativeCovers50
    @CreativeCovers50 Před 4 lety +1

    Probably one of the better IRig duo videos....
    Still, I am wondering if you plug mic into 1. and acoustic guitar into 2. can this be live streamed to Facebook? When you say it comes out of input 1 only, the second input is useless if you can’t plug into #2 and livestream on Facebook live. Reason I’m asking is I’ve got IRig Stream (which I cannot get to work) and a IRig Pre...which works on Facebook live with one XLR mic. So question still remains....plug in mic and acoustic guitar into 1&2 and work with Facebook live? Sigh 😔

    So apparently I am an idiot. I bought the iRig Duo which comes with Amplitude, then got the Vocal Live App, then the iRig "Free" recorder with the not so free bundles plugged in. I am wanting to recording a simple video w/acoustic and vocal on my iPad with have a bit of reverb. I must be confused on my signal path. How do I plug all three of these apps in together into iRig ? I've fumbled through the iRig recorder manual, sought out every tutorial on CZcams and still have a shitty dry mic very little input from my guitar w/pick-up, and mic with Phantom, yes the Phantom power is on. It would seem logical that these "plug-ins" need to be plugged in ???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey thanks for the video! I have a question, i just got this to record some professional demos on new guitars, so im using an sm 57 mic with an xlr cable to the duo, and the duo connected to my iphone 7. And the mic near my amplifier speaker. It sounds very clear and its not clipping, but i hear a constant "white noise". I hear some on your video too, but not as bad. Any thoughts?

    • @TrueSoundTV
      @TrueSoundTV  Před 7 lety

      Andrea Armenti Hi, yeah so when I am filming the iRig, I'm using the camera mic and not iRig as the audio interface which is why there's noise. So this noise problem will happen when you turn up the gain on any particular microphone beyond the source level. Essentially if your source (your guitar amp) isn't at a loud enough volume, you are going to amplify the electrical noise that happens through the iRig. I would first try turning up the guitar amp louder so that you can turn down the gain on the iRig. This will make the source much louder and should eliminate a lot of the noise that you are hearing. Give that a try first and let me know, thanks! Good luck

    Thanks for good information. If I record video on my iPhone using this irig duo, will i get a left and right track in my editing software. So if i use two mic's for a interview i will be able to remove one mic, or are they mixed to mono?

    • @TrueSoundTV
      @TrueSoundTV  Před 7 lety +1

      +Frank Sorensen +Frank Sorensen hi, thanks for watching this video. So if you use the Irig software you can choose a bunch of options including stereo, summed mono, or just choose channel one or two. Now if you are using this to Record with Video unfortunately you don't have any of the Irig audio options. Typically the Irig will put channel 1 all way to the left, and channel 2 all way to the right. This though isn't always the case. Sometimes it will record both channels in mono down the center, and other times in total stereo mode. The only way I have found to get around this is you can use a separate mixer to plug multiple microphones into it to get a mono signal. Last, depending on what video editing software you're using, you should be able to split the stereo signal into individual mono channels and separately mix them. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

    • @andreaarmenti773
      @andreaarmenti773 Před 7 lety
