I put mkleo over zomba.. zomba's golden week was awful 25th, 13th while leo got 25th & 9th losing to shuton, snow, jpn hero & yamanaction .

@@imESAM I should have worded better but last time he didn’t place top 5 was at port priority 8. Also I don’t think it isn’t justified to put him so low, but I do think he is higher than 8th as the na players put above him didn’t attend golden week, same be the case with zomba (except I agree with him not being top 10)
As Japanese,
Spargo and Zomba accepted the risk and fought in Japan even though they already had good results. It is sad and NOT GOOD that they will lose their ranking on this trip and be placed under Light and SHADIC etc.😢😢😢
I love players who spend long time and money to come to Japan to fight.

I think that is more of a problem about people's mindsets.
Rankings should be something fun to gauge where players' skill levels are currently at.
The best aspect of travelling to Japan to compete should be the experience and the practice, something that has caused players to do better in NA in the past.
In the end, rankings are not the end of the world.
It's totally fine and I'm glad they got to go.

The ranking gets reset halfway through the year this time around, so none of Sparg0's current result will matter for the end of the year lumirank. It is already basically impossible for Sparg0 to get top 3 at the mid year ranking.

Pretty sure because Sparg0 was ranked 2 that's why he keeps getting upset.., people learned the match up and they see him play because he's so fun to watch but unfortunately, cloud can get farm because it's easy to cheese him.. if only he had a slightly better recovery, it would be a top 10 character in ultimate
People are overstating Japan's geography advantage. There are just as many people crammed into roughly the same space on the east coast of the USA. Just because there's a bunch of nothing in the middle of the continent doesn't change that fact. It's not like there are more total entrants in Japan, or more money involved either.
I think the main issue is the public transit system. Japan has high speed rail covering the majority of the country and reliable bus routes that cover the rest, also on a much smaller land mass than the east coast. The US’ public transit system is practically non-existent outside of a city-wide scale. That’s why places that have qualities like you mentioned, such as the MDVA area, central Texas, Florida, and New York are such excellent places at producing US smash talent. I do generally agree, though, that the advantage from Japanese geography is overstated somewhat.

My prediction for second half of the year. The race for Number 1 will be between SHADIC and Miya!!! SHADIC dominate NA while Miya dominate Japan!!!
Hot take but I disagree. Shadic still can’t beat Spargo. Spargo is top NA player, despite his last poor result. He will be back.
@@JonathanRodriguez-cl8gq I think it's only about time. Just remember during the invitational he lost to Sonix twice. But at the grand Final he just did the opposite and beat Sonix. How fast adaptation that he got and the fact that he is really consistent make me believe he might beat Sparg0 in the near future.

@@JonathanRodriguez-cl8gqThey've only fought twice, Light used to be Shadics bracket demon and had like 4 straight wins in a row on him but nowadays he beat light the 2 last times they played. He also didnt get sweeped by Spargo he took a game both sets they fought so its 100% possible
Frankly I think the only one I disagree with is Hurt over Sonix. Hurt has insane results but I think the insane consistency of Sonix puts him above Hurt. Things can still change, im hoping for Shadic to overtake them both :p

sonix don't attend events often,thats why sonix seems more consistent than hurt,if he attend like hurt,he will have bad lose and placements I think.(And,Japan tournaments are much harder to maintain geting good placement than NAs.)

10)It's between Zomba, Raru, Doramigi and KEN imo. I'd probably slightly favor Doramigi over the others but it's really close. I think TamaP has a few too many questionable regional performances to be top 10, not to mention his bad Umebura run.

I like this list, and if you put in Doramigi as #10 like what you were learning towards I’d probably have the exact same list. I’d also put Miya at #2 and Sonix as #3 probably but you said that was an interchangeable spot for you so that’s fine.
I think putting TamaP top 10 is serious recency bias, he has some wack losses. I'd put yaura at 10 tbh, I know Zomba peaks are great but imo to be top 10 you should be beating the people outside the top or even high level consistently which zomba isn't really coming close to. Yaura however has probably the 4th cleanest loss list this season, good h2hs, and great wins. imo i prob say acola miya sonix hurt shadic light tweek spargo shuton yaura (though my order of 6-9 is rough at best)
Hmm, I had dismissed Yaura because he has quite a few missed top 8, but then I looked at the brackets and wow, this guy is really not lucky. His losses are amazing overall, like he has three Shuton losses, maybe even four? I think the only one that's a bit dubious is Umeki, with how inconsistent that player has been.

What do you think miya has to do be definitely #1 over acola? He plays all the time, more often than acola, and does so well, does it come down to their head to head in your mind?
I feel like Miya beating acola more consistently and getting first place just as often as acola while going to all the smash regions in the world would create a powerful case for Miya to be number one over acola but than again it will not be easy a true king like acola will not give up his number one position without a fight. If Miya wants to be number one he will have to win every tournament regardless of region and do whatever it takes to knock out acola out of tournaments for good. It’s not enough to beat acola you must completely eradicate him from bracket delta 8 and kagaribi 12 are proof of this once those conditions are meant than I will say Miya is number one. It sounds impossible but no one ever said that task is easy but it has to be done.
@@supermariomaker1734 Why is acola not held to the same standard? It sounds like you're saying acola winning the tournents he does is enough for him to maintain number without scrutiny. However miya must travel the world and win everything in dominant fashion and has to hope acola makes it to him so he can beat him in any tourney they enter together.
Quantity and quality, as well as head to head, all have a part in evaluating who has performed better. Miya has more high quality wins this season than acola, he's competed more often, and to your point, has traveled to test himself.
Not a miya apologist, just confused how best is defined and whether everyone is held to the same standard.
Under the same standard, the case could be made that acola isn't "doing enough" by not competing in Kowloon 9 earlier this year or coming to the US like Miya did for CFL. (It's acolas perogative, I don't think he has to do anything.)
@@brandonpeterson8235 I’m just saying it’s will be incredibly difficult for anyone to takes acolas throne if you have other suggestions than I like to hear it. The fact is acola has only lost so far by being double eliminated so it tells me that acola will be number one for a very long time and has a chance to become the goat of ultimate even if people don’t want to accept that.

Fair chance the top 3 are Japanese, and that there are two other Japanese players in top 10. Shuton is pretty certain to be if season ended today. But theirs a bunch of Japanese players alongside Zomba that could all be 10
