Dite quello che volete, che i Do tremano, che non sono in stile, che hanno voci inadatte a Bellini, a me non sono dispiaciuti affatto. Avete tutti il palato fine e orecchie ben educate, io no e quindi mi accontento.
Sono daccordo con lei.... E comunque io ho lavorato assieme alla signora Dessi', e posso dire che era meravigliosa, una bella voce, una bella donna ed è triste non averla più tra noi😔
I heard Kate Aldrich sing Carmen in Detroit a few years ago; she was pretty impressive in that role!
Quand j' écoute celà je me rappelle qu' on critiquait Callas pour certains sons un peu durs ... ici nous entendons des glapissements horribles et chacun trouve celà normal et bien ..; drole d ' époque

Dessi has not really mastered the role, although she is not as bad as some here claim. None of the three, however, are singing with true bel canto style. In "Norma" especially this happens too often. Because there are a lot of angry moments singers feel that they have to "sound mad" not realizing that this simply prevents Bellini's musical genius from conveying that emotion. Listen to Sutherland [spectacular voice fulfilling all of Bellini's demands and making great impact] or Callas [using every possible bel canto technique and delivering the total character without making a single harsh note] to hear what Bellini should sound like.
Piu' che Pollione tremano i Do ed e' il pubblico che intona "Deh non volerci vittime del vostro fatale errore".

No high D from Dessi, is not a surprise; her voice is strident, and she's in way over her head with this music. I saw her at the Met a number of years ago, in Butterfly, and though she acted very well, it is a small, lyric instrument; that at times screeched to be heard even in that role. Now all of a sudden, she's a dramatic coloratura singing the heaviest role in the repertoire. The tenor sounds like a student at the conservatoire, and I kept forgetting there was a mezzo at all. Weak singing.

Norma non ruolo da Dessy... e gli altri non sono aquile... qui serve il belcantismo belliniano della migliore qualità ed a mio avviso decisamente latita

@@numetutelare, in genere non ho mai apprezzato la Dessi, cantante piuttosto generica. Non ha mai avuto un "indirizzo" preciso, non amo pero' i cantanti specializzati in un repertorio, ma ad alcuni farebbe bene soffermarsi piu' che aggiungere di continuo e dare un senso alla loro arte anziche' prodursi con esiti dubbi.
