My father had purchased this Philips Maestro Radio in the Year 1969 from Madras and brought it to Aurangabad. IT was a prized Radio Set. This Radio needed installation of Outdoor Ariel for Better reception. We used to hear Binaca Geethmala, Vividh bharati and other program. PU means Pickup through these sockets we could play Record Players like HMV Calypso and other Record players which did not have built in Amplifiers. Dear PU is not Punjab University. It is pick up you can use it as amplifier. Record player can be connected to this radio and niddle will be kept at any end so that it should not interfere. In the sixties & seventies, the most popular stations we used to listen on shortwave were radio Ceylon Hindi & English language service, BBC, Voice of America, Radio Moscow, Voice of Germany, Radio Australia & many other stations from around the world..those good old days were the golden era of radio.
