Nice comparison video. Good selection of pedals to compare and I like that you use a looper to keep the input consistent. 👍🎸🎶

Distortion boxes have come a long way. Back in the day if you ran one through a clean amp (like a JC120), it usually sounded like tin foil on fire. The distortion pedals today are miles above from what they used to be. I liked how the Tone City pedals sounded...full and rich. You're going to make me dig out my Pinnacle and Power Stack pedals...they sounded cool. I also dig the Bogner Red distortion pedal too. Great video!

@@djpgreek The Pinnacle sounded better when he tweaked the EQ a bit. He had too much treble dialed out at first.

That NUX pedal sounded beastly! I always scroll past their stuff out of a lack of recognition, but I might try picking up some of their pedals to give them a spin. If they sound as good as the one in this video then I've been missing out.

The Wampler PInnacle Deluxe v2 is great as a distortion pedal. You really need to understand the 3 band eq and all the switches and work in order to get the sound you are looking for. The Plexi Drive Deluxe also by Wampler i would say fix better as the typical plexi sounds with fantastic clean glassy tones and so much more low gain possibilities.

I have bought and sold about 250 pedals since 2014. I review pedals but keep the best than sell the others. That said I have kept 70, LOL. My favorites are a good MIAB . They are all good but most I had but sold as I found another that covered the same ground better. I guess I will pick the NUX because that one I kept because I also own 10 guitars and the NUX is killer with a Tele bridge PU. The Tele PU has got killer bite but needs fattening. The NUX is simply perfect. With other PU's the NUX I find is too woofy in the low mids. Thanx for the video. It was excellent with so many to compare.

The Peppers is killer.. lots of gain on tap.. but Marshall is EITHER plexi modded or JCM 800 modded.. they are not the same.. Model M was great.. flexible... NU-x has that sizzle.. but the Fireman does not have the gain of the BE-OD pedal... I dont use mine past 10-11 o'clock for gain..evern with the dip switch set lower.. lol.. nice shootout..

Those old Focus are cool. ESP made all the Kramer necks right ? I’m assuming even the Focus. I had a chance to buy an old Focus and or a Charvel Model???? Something for about 300 dollars back around 2010 but I wasn’t playing guitar very much at the time and it wasn’t uncommon to see them in good condition for less than 500 back then. I had a shot at an early 90s Soloist it was black Cherry with a matching headstock which was kinda special as it wasn’t a custom shop but kinda a semi custom. They pulled this soloist off the line because the guy wanted black Cherry and a matching headstock. They were building production soloist by the time anyway 1000 and I passed ( insert Fred Sanford YOU BIG DUMMY! ) .
I was never into Kramer when I first got into guitar and Eddie was already playing Peavey by the time I started playing. Kramer came on quick and it was like they went away overnight but I consider Kramer the original every mama super Strat .
Crazy how student guitars become desirable 30 or 40 years later
The Plexi Crunch is hard to beat for the money as long as you actually want a hot rodded Marshall it’s got a ton of gain!

Have you tried the AMT M1? From their legendary amps series pedals. It is pretty good. I like the Peppers pedals and the Nu-x. I have the BOSS Power stack but I find it finicky with certain amps. Golden Plexi, Guvnor and the Boss pedal were my favorites. The GP is a steal at 50 bucks and there are SRV tones in there with the right Fender and some twiddling, at a reasonable volume! Another example of the low to mid price pedal, at least upon release competing with the boutique pedals.
