A grandma squeezes the hand of a teddy bear she was gifted to hear birthday well wishes from her late daughter. As soon as Winifred, 85, heard the familiar voice wishing her a happy birthday she immediately began to well up, sobbing next to her granddaughter, Billie, who planned the surprise. Billie said Winifred had struggled with the sudden death of her daughter, Barbara, a year earlier, as she had been admitted to hospital with a stomach ache, which turned out to be an incurable cancer. Barbara passed away just 13 weeks later, and the weeks and months that followed were extremely tough on Winifred. So Billie wanted to plan something to help her grandmother remember her daughter by. She remembered that, during the coronavirus pandemic, family members had recorded video messages to wish Winifred a happy birthday, so Billie tracked down the message she had been sent by Barbara. Taking the audio file to Build-A-Bear, Billie then had a teddy made, which she presented to her grandmother, who she cares for, on November 9.

That exact thing has happened with my nan, 2 of her kids passed extremely tragically when they were young, in absolutely brutal ways, her husband hung himself cuz he felt guilty and another kind of partner she had that helped raise her grandchildren with her passed away a few years ago, my father passed a couple years back and my aunty passed about a year ago, all she has is my cousin's who have lived with her since they were babies and never wanna leave her side, I feel so terrible for my nan, she had to attend all the funerals of the family she built, absolutely horrifying, as a parent that's my worst nightmare, she's still going strong in her late 70's and hasn't let it drive her into a depression, she takes everyday as it comes and just enjoys her time with her grandbabies and great grandchildren, she still lives in the house they've lived in since they were young and never plans on moving out, I plan on seeing her more cuz i want my son to spend as much time with her as we can cuz we're all she has here in Melbourne.

Maybe. I’d just kill myself if my kid died. But it seems she has other kids. Or grandkids. So you have to live on. To hear your kids voice….idk. I’d listen everyday. If I didn’t kill myself for the sake of all the other kids and grandkids.
