The M41 Walker Bulldog is a beautiful tank, I want it to remain operational for many decades to come, and never need to be replaced unnecessarily.

Bet he loved it...I drove one for a year and it was finest light tank in the world and fun to drive. It was just a horrible gas hog..and firing the main gun was nasty. The backblast would take out your eardrums.

I know this comment is ancient now, but is it really that cramped? Everything I've read about it mentions, at least once, that tankers didn't like because it was very tight on the inside.

I've been inside one recently which was in use by the Bundeswehr (although it sadly is rusted and witted). I'm a pretty thin guy and only 175cm, but even I found it challenging to climb inside and also get seated. And the one I was in had no ammunition, etc. stored inside so that basically means it was pretty spacey. But it's still an awesome tank. @@exxusdrugstore300

I've recently been in one from the Bundeswehr, and it really is pretty cramped (also have to mention that the one I was inside was pretty rusty, and had no things such as ammunition loaded since it's a "hard target", etc.). I'm pretty thin and around 5'7 feet tall and even I struggled to fit inside properly. Still an amazing and beautiful machine though. @@exxusdrugstore300

Wrong,.,the M-41 did NOT see combet in Korea. It was issued in mid 1953, stateside but too late for Korea. The USA never used the M-41 in combat but S VN troops did a remarkable job in Vietnam, in one battle taking our 22 NVN tanks with no loses. I wish we had the 41 in Korea...all we had was M-24s and that short 75 did nothing against T-34s. The Marine Pershings and later our M-46s was all we had to kill the T-34.
